May I ask why this was changed? It was very useful for timing my hornets perfectly to stop targets. Instead of trying to count with the distance readout, just fire as soon as reticle appears

Idk if this was the reason but it was very annoying in cap fights, the cd spam makes you miss shots on the enemy due to the reticle.

Wait I might have misinterpreted. I thought the crosshair that you get when aiming a CD was gone, not the crosshair that a flying CD has.

Latter one makes sense.

Changed: Cruiser and Battlecruiser flak energy (shield) damage reduced.

What is the reasoning behind this? Already it feels impossible to hit any fighter/bomber as cap or gunboat.
Do we really need few hits that land to also be weaker?

Why not?

For clarity, the changes to Hornets are, TL;DR'd:
  • Top speed increased to 1,000; now accelerates at 125 m/s^2 instead of 37.5 m/s^2
  • Increased turn rate: 120 degrees/s -> 225 degrees/s
  • Increased detonation distance / proximity fuse: 3.5 meters -> 15.0 meters.
  • Launcher no longer rotates 90 degrees.

Given that CDs have 180 degree FoVs and always track without fail, launching forwards changes nothing about their ability to be launched at ships behind the user. On top of that, they're now faster and more importantly accelerate to their top speed much faster, so they can close the gap to pursuers faster. Obviously a near doubling of turn rate also helps with that. Do you have a video of Hornets struggling to stop people from cruising up?

i dont have a video but the only thing i know for sure is that an entire nomad battleship was rubbing against my rear end and that my CDs took their sweet time to loop around, enough time for the BS to catch up while he was at 2.5k ish

what was wrong having them shoot immediately backwards or even to the side? if this was a bandaid fix for snub pvp, why not apply it to just wasps?

nomad bombs! Nomad Bombs!! NOMAD BOMBS!!! Finally, I no longer have to choose between Novas or Novas! (:

I do think the shield damage is slightly lacking, but not overly so. Tested on multiple targets today. Can say I am pleased with the decision to add them. Looking at the effect and their projectile, they are Sexy. Oh, so very sexy.

Also ty for the Nomad HF shield. Many of Us will be happier for that, for those of Us who enjoy Our little ship.

Thanks also for fixing the Wilde ID tractor beam. Its also the little things that make a big difference, too.

Yeah it's that. Someone spamming CDs no longer messes with your targeting.

What is the bonus? Is it like the Old Mining system where certain IDs get it? Is it only certain freighters?
