Fidel Ruiz

Full Name:Fidel Ruiz
Alias: Busardo
DOB: 03/11/787 A.S.
POB: Guadalajara, Planet Crete, Omicron Gamma
Rank: Centurion del Verbo
Occupation: Intelligence Operative, Scout, Escort Pilot, Bomber Pilot

Further Data: Fidel Ruiz was born in 787 A.S. in Guadalajara, on planet Crete, to Ángel Ruiz, a former pilot turned armorer, and his wife Maria. Growing up, Fidel scavenged for artifacts around the local ore mines to trade for small luxuries. His father, a renowned craftsman of bespoke flightsuits and combat armor, often welcomed many of Crete's warriors to the workshop. Fidel eagerly soaked up their stories of distant battles and adventures. The family got by until Ángel succumbed to mercury poisoning from years in the workshop. His illness left him paranoid and erratic, with Fidel shouldering much of his care. Ángel passed away in 805 A.S., and Maria, fearful of losing her son to the horrible affliction as well, begged Fidel not to follow in his father’s footsteps.

Determined to honor his family, Fidel restored his father’s Gladiator and trained for months in preparation for a daring venture into the Malvada Cloud. On a clear summer morning, he donned his father’s flightsuit and launched into space. He successfully recovered a large artifact but was ambushed by two bounty hunters. In a tense battle, Fidel destroyed one and forced the other to retreat, though his cruise engines were fried. After drifting for four days, he was rescued by Brotherhood captain Geraldo Buonocore, who sponsored Fidel’s enrollment at the Academia del Perdido on the condition he join the Brotherhood upon graduation. Fidel accepted, excelling in piloting Praetorian bombers and studying history, sociology, and diplomacy.

Graduating with distinction, Geraldo assigned Fidel to his son Juanez Buonocore’s first gunboat command. Fidel's sharp mind and diplomacy proved critical, especially during the Gran Canaria Zoner clashes, where Juanez earned much of his reputation with Fidel’s support. Fidel, now known as "Busardo," rose to the rank of Centurion, leading a small strike team and specializing in covert operations and intelligence gathering. His seemingly badly serviced rusty M15 Evocadus, in which he often poses as a simple escort pilot, conceals some of the Corsair Empire’s most advanced technology, as this old buzzard hasn’t lost his claws. A long list of defeated transport and capital ships stands as a testament to his deadly prowess in combat.

Despite his success, Fidel invests much of his earnings in a medical and elderly care center in Guadalajara, where he regularly visits his mother. Though a loyal son of Crete and a respected Brotherhood operative, Busardo's soft, friendly and helpful demeanour might make him stand out compared to many other Corsairs, but taking his kindness for weakness would be a grave mistake.

Chucho Alavarez

Full Name: Chucho Alvarez
Alias: Pulgas
DOB: 11/05/801
POB: Knossos (NM), Planet Crete, Omicron-Gamma
Rank: Decurion del Bastión
Occupation: Operative, Pirate, Scout, Warrior, Pilot

Further Data: Chucho Alvarez was born into poverty in the Knossos district of Nova Magerit, Crete. His father was unknown, and his mother struggled to provide for fourteen children. With no guidance or resources, Alvarez grew up on the streets, learning to survive through theft, gambling, knife fighting, and narcotics trafficking. The underworld became his domain, shaping him into a resourceful and fearless young man.

During an attempted burglary, Alvarez unknowingly broke into a safehouse belonging to Fidel Ruiz, an enforcer working undercover for Bablo Ximanez. Ruiz apprehended him, administered a severe beating, and recognized the potential in the young thief. Instead of disposing of him, Ruiz took Alvarez under his wing and later arranged for his admission to la Academia del Perdido.

At the academy, young Chucho quickly distinguished himself as a skilled pilot, excelling in the control of light fighters such as the Legionnaire and the Hogosha-built Yubitsume. His quick reflexes and brave mentality made him a formidable force in combat, and he wasted no time proving himself in the Malvada cloud.

Beyond his skills in battle, Alvarez has leveraged his connections to the Nova Magerit underworld to serve the Brotherhood’s interests. His expertise in information gathering, smuggling, and enforcement has made him a valuable asset in operations requiring discretion and efficiency. Despite his inflammatory nature and questionable past, Chucho Alvarez remains a trusted operative within the Corsair Brotherhood.

Gino Lobonero

Full Name:Gino Lobonero
Alias: el Machete
DOB: 21/07/780 A.S.
POB: Chania, Planet Crete, Omicron Gamma
Rank: Decurion de la Espada
Occupation: Test Pilot, Bodyguard, Warrior

Further Data:

Gino Lobonero was born in the Chania district of Planet Crete, a region known for its deep ties to the Corsair Brotherhood. His family held little influence, primarily engaged in shipyard labor, minor smuggling operations, and local enforcement. From an early age, Lobonero exhibited an aversion to subordination, seeking to establish himself beyond the status of a street-thug

While childhood ambitions briefly included pursuits outside the Brotherhood's sphere, such as becoming a ballerino, the realities of Chania's environment shaped him into a specialist in direct action and lethal enforcement. By adolescence, he had already engaged in multiple violent encounters, demonstrating a distinct proficiency with bladed weaponry. His preference for edged weapons was not driven by tradition but by their ability to convey a direct message to adversaries and rivals.

Lobonero's potential was recognized by Elder Miguel Sephardi, who intervened to redirect his trajectory from street violence to structured training. Under Sephardi's sponsorship, he was admitted to the Academia del Perdido , the Corsair Brotherhood's primary training institution for enforcers, warriors, and pilots. The program he was made to follow was known for its attrition rate, with only a fraction of recruits surviving the regiment.

Lobonero thrived within this environment, focusing extensively on hand-to-hand combat, close-quarters engagements, and tactical ambush operations. While many of his peers pursued leadership roles or tactical command positions, he remained singularly focused on refining his capacity for direct action. His proficiency in close-quarters combat and precision execution earned him the callsign “Machete”.

Upon completion of his training, Lobonero was assigned as an enforcer within the Brotherhood's internal security structure. His duties included everything from debt collection, suppression of dissent, to targeted eliminations on behalf of the Elders. His reputation for effectiveness eventually drew the attention of Juanez Buonocore.

Although primarily deployed in ground-based operations, Lobonero also demonstrated considerable proficiency as a Titan-class heavy fighter pilot. Despite his reputation, Lobonero was not regarded as a leader or political figure within the Brotherhood. His value was in his ability to execute orders without question. This became particularly evident following the betrayal of Eliza “Baila Morena” Buonocore , after which Lobonero was ordered to hunt her down, and was positioned to assume many of her former responsibilities as Tribune of the Corsair Brotherhood. However, where she had influence and charisma, he had only efficiency. His methods proved to lack the subtlety required for high-level intrigue.

Lobonero's fortunes shifted as internal power struggles within the Council of Elders escalated. His unwavering loyalty to Juanez Buonocore ultimately proved to be a liability. When opposing facts maneuvered to remove Buonocore from power, Lobonero was implicated as a co-conspirator and subsequently imprisoned in the dungeons of Cadiz Station . His status remained unknown for years, with many assumptions he had been executed.

Lobonero was unexpectedly released following an intervention by Elder Gutierrez , coinciding with Buonocore's return to the Corsair Brotherhood as Pro-Consul. Despite his reinstatement, Lobonero was not restored to his former rank , returning instead as a Decurion with diminished authority. At present, Lobonero, though assigned to battlegroup Creta, remains active in combat operations on the empire's periphery, primarily assigned to frontline engagements and destabilization missions. Next to that, he has also been placed into a test pilot programme with an extremely high lethality rate.

Estebano Bandera

Full Name:Estebano Bandera
Alias: Arador
DOB: 14/04/807 A.S.
POB: Valareña, Planet Crete, Omicron Gamma
Rank: Decurion del Escudo
Occupation: Fighter Pilot, Pirate, Engineer

Further Data: Starting his life in the Benitez ruled town of Valareña as an orphan, Estebano inherited nothing but a name from his famous agriculturalist father, and as such he intents on forging his own legacy.

A childhood marked by the death in the family, hunger, rejection by his closest relatives, and a life of thievery and scraping by shaped him, fueling his relentless ambition. Securing a job as a farmhand at the hacienda of the local magistrate, Ribaldo Benitez, he taught himself engineering, spending countless hours tinkering with the agricultural machinery owned by the familia. However, no matter how well-designed the tractors were, Cretan soil lacked the necessary nutrients to produce a substantial harvest. Seeing little future in this path, Estebano set his sights elsewhere.

Determined to venture beyond the confines of Valareña, he convinced his Benitez benefactors to secure him a flight instructor. Once trained, he invested his savings into constructing his own Legionnaire fighter from wreckage and spare parts. Like many young Corsairs, he ventured to Malvada in search of artifacts, only to return battered. His ship was missing a wing and an engine and his mind haunted by a close encounter with Nomads. Yet his resolve remained unshaken.

For the following two years, he turned to piracy in the Omega systems, preying on Rheinland diamond miners and refining his skills in both combat and survival. Now a sworn member of the Corsair Brotherhood, Estebano pursues his ambition with unwavering focus, seeking to rise through the ranks and, perhaps one day, whether by force or persuasion, aiding in the colonization of a planet suitable for agriculture, where he might one day retire in peace as a farmer.

Pedro de Alvarado

Full Name:Pedro de Alvarado
Alias: El Afortunado
DOB: 09/11/808 A.S.
POB: Las Cenizas, Planet Crete, Omicron Gamma
Rank: Decurion del Bastión
Occupation: Merchant, Smuggler, Fighter Pilot

Further Data: Pedro de Alvarado hails from the well-established de Alvarado family, known for amassing wealth through treasure hunting and later expanding into the gambling trade, organizing high-stakes poker tournaments and bloodsport events such as pig fights.

Details of his early life remain sparse, but as a child of privilege, Pedro was provided with every advantage. However, as the youngest in his family, he was never considered a primary heir to the family's wealth. Seeking to carve out his own path, he leveraged his connections and invested heavily in artifact smuggling operations to Kusari. The venture ultimately failed, depleting his credit with his family and forcing him to seek new opportunities.

To uphold the family’s reputation, the de Alvarado elders ensured that Pedro received extensive fighter combat training and supplied him with a ship before severing financial ties. No longer bound by familial expectations, he sought a path that would offer both purpose and profit. The Corsair Brotherhood proved to be the natural choice. giving him an opportunity to forge his own legacy among warriors, traders, and conquerors. Now a Soldato, Pedro fights not only for survival but for the chance to reclaim the fortune and respect he once took for granted.

Luna Lopez

Full Name: Luna Lopez
Alias: La Tigresa
DOB: 01/11/817 A.S.
POB: San Ricardo, Planet Crete, Omicron Gamma
Rank: Soldata
Occupation: Raider, Smuggler, Pilot, Warrior

Further Data: Luna grew up as a pure-blooded Cretan born nowhere else but Planet Crete itself. She's had no noticeable activities until the age of 14 - when she fell in love with a freshly gifted Decurion, a ship that Lopez flies to this day. She had her own dreams at that time. Luna's first mission was escorting a convoy from Leon in Omega-41; a fresh stack of cash - she couldn't get rid of the satisfaction. So Luna eventually left as she saw that the Empire suffered more and more over time from her point of view. She never intended to leave permanently, though. Lopez was gone for several years trying to find a new source of income for the Empire and gain a buck or two along the way posing as a Freelancer - didn't work out, at all. Young guerrera was left stuck around Omega-3 doing the usual piracy. Never got caught or shot down by the Bretonian Forces or the Rheinlanders. Heck, she didn't even get to see them until they struck her ship constantly. Luna got tired in the end...2 hours was too much for her as she got lazy over time. They ripped one of Luna's wings off, and that's that. Until then she also took any escort, bounty or recon contracts she could find on Freeport 1 to maintain her ship in one piece.
