Which one is more effective against fighter/bomber in fleet battle? - mjolnir - 06-15-2009 BS (defending) fighters - flaks (eventually 2 flaks + 2-4 solaris) bombers who are not noobs - solaris bombers who are noobs - razors Cruiser Against fighters/bombers that are not targeting you - solaris Against fighters/bombers that are targeting you - primaries Against any noob - razors GBs solaris/primaries (depend on what GB) + missiles as support razors against noobs again Which one is more effective against fighter/bomber in fleet battle? - El Nino - 06-15-2009 I can pretty much sign with Mjolnir's post here... The weapons we designed to be anti-fighter (bomber) work best against them, only a fool will allow themselves to be hit by BS primaries, a simple execution of left-up-right-down strafe will render you unhitable... Furthermore in Fleet battles you really don't hit much unless you are being attacked as a capital ship, for any offensive measures you are limited to solaris... (perhaps a Razor, as there are always nubs around) Which one is more effective against fighter/bomber in fleet battle? - Weedalot - 06-15-2009 it depends.. hard to say what is best i can say what i would use.. but thats about it. Which one is more effective against fighter/bomber in fleet battle? - globalplayer-svk - 06-15-2009 combination of all .... Which one is more effective against fighter/bomber in fleet battle? - alpha3 - 06-15-2009 It depends on you....If you can hit everything with Razors then Razors. If no I'd suggest Solarises. Which one is more effective against fighter/bomber in fleet battle? - Ash - 06-15-2009 Razors are heaven sent Which one is more effective against fighter/bomber in fleet battle? - tansytansey - 06-15-2009 I think it also varies greatly on what ship the guns are mounted on. Razors are gonna be far more effective on a Kusari Gunboat/Destroyer than a bigger, slower boat. (I'm not much of a cap ship pilot, so I dunno which the heavy caps are.) I also don't think any Cruiser and Battleship weapons are really that effective at anti fighter/bomber. There's a reason Cruiser patrols roll around with two Gunboats and Battleship patrols have two cruisers and two fighters in tow. Razors are awesome against pretty much anyone tbh, so long as they don't have a CD. If you are the one attacked Razors work well, if they are attacking someone else and you need to hit the fighter/bomber (who is not noob) then guns work much better. EDIT: Or maybe a different explanation. Razors are kind of high risk weapons, either you kill him and win at once... or you will not do any damage. Guns are "safer" way against opponent of any experience. Which one is more effective against fighter/bomber in fleet battle? - Primus Avatar - 06-16-2009 while i was playing with the Harvester Cruiser i used regular corsair turrets. Everyone from a light fighter to a bomber pilot who fought against me will vouch how simple it was to hit them when i used them in a chainfire. |
