Notice: Rule loophole: Bombers - Errant.Venture - 06-27-2009 yeah ive seen it done...however technically they arent in violation when they do it because: 6.19 Pirates have a right to deal as much damage as they see fit before or after demanding money from a trader ship, but killing trader ship before demanding money or cargo is not allowed. so that ninja tactic is low...in all forms....but since they ninja'd a engagement notice they got of scott free... NOW i have a suggestion...I have a small fleet of freelancers, about 6, from my clan on another game, and we are running x3 super heavy fighters, x1 bomber x2 armored transports set up to kill fighters/bombers.... how bout we all just return the favor in RP<<<<(this is important), and set up a "House sanctioned" hunting party, until they get the point, that we dont like PVP whores...i can have a few decent gunboats outfitted by tomorrow, and during the fights, we make it a point to make it as costly as possible, destroying valuable weapons, and equipment, even if they have lots of money, they will eventually slip up, and then we got them..... Technically speaking, freelancers, mercs, bounty hunters, and Lawfuls are good to go for this hunting party... but thats just a suggestion, im not insinuating we need to stoop to their level. Notice: Rule loophole: Bombers - BaconSoda - 06-28-2009 I do believe haberdashery such as this does qualify as PvP abuse. Pirates have to give people adequate time to respond to their offer. It is the same way with this. /set chattime on Screenshot your death message directly after the engagement notice, along with their ship type, and them draining your shield without notice. PvP abuse sanction on the way. This is the same for trade ships. If someone drains you to almost dead, and then SNs you right after a pre-typed demand, you were unfairly killed and can file a report for PvP abuse. It just isn't fair for anyone to do things like this. Also, if you are doing this, just remember: it isn't nice to do this. I've had it happen to me more than once in Kyushu when I flew a Preagle and all the Red Cats were about (What's up .84). Razor + SN while I was typing and I didn't even see it coming. Not nice at all. No one gets a good feeling out of a fight like that. Does that Blue Message really give you pride? Is it really worth it? No, it isn't. When it comes full circle and happens to you, you'll realize that... Notice: Rule loophole: Bombers - Grumblesaur - 06-28-2009 Advice? Drift while you type. Perpendicularly to them if you can. If they chase you, type shorter messages while frequently changing direction. Drop a mine every now and then to see if they're paying attention, or once you've given your notice. There is but one solution: TO THE MASTER SERVER CHAT LOG! (there is one right? no respectable server wouldn't keep one) Notice: Rule loophole: Bombers - tazuras - 06-28-2009 ' Wrote:yeah ive seen it done...however technically they arent in violation when they do it because:Actually no, this is incorrect, see this rule: ' Wrote:6.21 Attacking without an engagement notice is not allowed. All attacks must be preceded with some form of RP, regardless of NPC faction diplomacy. Dealing damage counts as an attack. Now they dont have to make a demand right away, but they do have to say they will attack. I think an addition to rule 6.21 saying it supersedes rule 6.19, or rule 6.19 saying that rule 6.21 still needs to be followed would be nice, just for clarity, as I have seen this said elsewhere. Notice: Rule loophole: Bombers - Errant.Venture - 06-28-2009 hmmm well i get attacked all the time by pirates and they attack, then say something.....but i need to get in game apparently a bunch of rogues and outcasts are blasting everyone and anything in the california system....with no prior engagement notice...and they have no grasp of the english language....so yeah Notice: Rule loophole: Bombers - Fletcher - 06-28-2009 Must be very annoying, thankfully I can dodge such flak, but when typing AI RP, its very awkward and requires TRUST from BOTH sides. Lol'bombers are a complete nuisance, and this type of attacks aren't new. Are they that apparent? Notice: Rule loophole: Bombers - farmerman - 06-28-2009 Luckily I haven't run into such issues (though I did see what appeared to be a Dragon trying to supernova my Samura train while using a tradelane, or it was just a weird timing thing.), but it makes me wonder something - how come deaths don't get a timestamp? It seems that would make things more effective, wouldn't it? (Or is there a second command I missed that does that?) |
