Question answered. - Drake - 09-11-2009 For the sake of IDs, smuggling has never been considered an 'unlawful act'. Traders of all stripes have always been allowed to smuggle, especially since what is considered contraband varies wherever you go. So hath sayeth the Admins. But, we could use an official clarification in the rules. ADMIN NOTICE: Smuggling isn't unlawful. Make a post of it, because this comes up a lot. Question answered. - tansytansey - 09-11-2009 It's not illegal if you're in (most) independant/border/edge worlds. Keep it out of the houses, would be my advice.. Question answered. - globalplayer-svk - 09-11-2009 smuggling. lest look on that from different wiews. taking artifacts in gamma is unlawfull for corsairs there? taking cardamine in alpha is ulnawfull for outcasts there? and this can continue. so i think that smuggling is semi legal/semi lawfull action it is lawfull in place where you take it, and unlawfull in most places where yo udeliver it. Question answered. - Guest - 09-11-2009 Not really, Johnpeter.......That kind of statement would make people think "Oh, Im a Zoner, I can smuggle without being stopped by lawful forces" To go more indepth on Fletcher's statement, what constitutes as an unlawful action depends on where you are: Corsairs might see Cardamine or Outcast-bound Slave Smugglers as "Unlawful" Outcasts might see Artifact or Corsair-bound Slave Smugglers as "Unlawful" Order might see Artifact/Cardamine/Slave Smugglers as "Unlawful" There is a Zoner faction specifically against Slave Smuggling, "Zoners Against Slavery" they undoubtedly see Slave Smugglers as "Unlawful" Houses see cargoships destined for houses they are at war with as "Unlawful" and confiscate that cargo in the enforcement of their respective Embargo Policies. Houses might see Artifact/Cardamine/Slave Smugglers as "Unlawful" (Laws vary on house) But regardless, if it violates a law set by the house you are in, your committing an unlawful action. Zoner or not. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Also, by Unlawful Action, there is no "OORP Law" involvement. OORP Law = Server Rule Unlawful Action is only concerned with what is INRP |
