ID Thoughts - Speak now - Drake - 09-24-2009 Cryer's 'escort pilots' are actually mostly cardamine interdictors. I would hate to see the Cryer ID's clause about demanding cardamine from people removed. Frankly, corporations get shafted in a lot of ways, and I don't think that giving them the option to shoot people in certain situations is a bad thing. Some things, * Mercenary IDs aren't allowed to shoot traders with bounties on their heads, while Freelancer IDs are. It should be legal for both, or else no one should be allowed to bounty traders. * Junkers aren't allowed to participate in unlawful actions vs. Gallic corporations. Why? Not all Junkers are Gallic Junkers. Actually, I propose a separate ID and possibly separate NPC reputation, for Sirius Junkers and Gallic Junkers. Make the two linked, but not the same. * IMG ID shouldn't allow them to demand contraband. Allied pirates, yes. Cardamine, sure, since the OCs are a major enemy. All contraband? Why? They're miners, not police. * Gallic Brigand ID allows them to fly cruisers. Not a huge deal, but a bit odd, and not really fitting the faction IMHO. * The Civilian ID needs modified to take into account that it can be retained after level 40 now. More precise info on what one can and cannot do while retaining that Civilian ID, what ships can be used, etc., would be nice as well. In my experience it's always the other way around. I'm somewhat wary about the notion of supplying those "bored" pilots with the duty of roaming Sirius looking for mans to kill. I can only talk for Cryer since it's all I have experience in, but it happens with us all the time. I play my escorts more than my trader, and we have a couple of members who don't even have transports. ID Thoughts - Speak now - Drake - 09-24-2009 ' Wrote:Also, I think tradelanes and jumpgates should refuse their services if you have and ID that they dont like (dunno if thats technically possible tho)Only if cruise speed was increased x3 or so. Otherwise it's pretty damn unfair to make anyone, whatever affiliation, fly hundreds of K across the huge vanilla House systems. Playability over RP. ID Thoughts - Speak now - Birdtalon - 09-24-2009 All Millitary and Navy IDs should allow for scanning of, and removal of contraband. (with the exception of Cruiser and above of course) It seems stupid that the Navy wouldn't do anything about it. ID Thoughts - Speak now - swift - 09-24-2009 I have a few comments and such, and I'm asking you to pay attention to the last ID request in particular, please. Not that I am a person of consequence when it comes to the Colonial Remnant anymore, myself being a resigned member, but I don't believe there's any reason for the docking restrictions for Kruger and Daumann bases to be on the ID, since those limitations come from a time when it and the Independent Miners Guild were closely affiliated, if not almost one and the same. It's not an economic or any kind of adversary to those corporations, therefore it should maintain at least neutral relations with them, until another factor came into play. Also going to jump on the 'let the military demand contraband if there's no police around' bandwagon. Also going to go on the Zelot bandwagon from the previous page, stating that in some cases non-exceptional restrictions of attacking certain IDs with certain other IDs is unnecessary. Also going to vaguely ask that the liberties of the Freelancer and Mercenary IDs aren't damaged in the ID system changes, as it's very necessary to have true 'I work for myself' roles in this game. And lastly, I'd ask for a clause in each ID stating that if it is myself who owns it, I am allowed to attack ships of any affiliation at will without an engagement notice. Thank you. First of all, corporation faction is not synonymous with trader faction. USI might be a trader faction since Universal, Inc. is a shipping corporation, but the distinction is important since most of the big corporations do more than just trade, even in a game-play sense. I play my escorts more than my trader, and we have a couple of members who don't even have transports. DSE doesn't have many escorts and I think the issues brought up here is a big reason for this. If there were less unreasonable restrictions on corporate IDs, I think DSE would see a rise in the number of escorts. I have, however, often seen USI escorts online without the company of a trading ship. Being wary about loosening restrictions on bored players seems a bit backward. I understand that you might fear them going crazy as soon as they have something to do, but I doubt they would -- or could -- ever reach the BHG's level of insanity. If people fulfilling bounty contracts causes problems I don't think restricting corporate ships is quite the answer you're looking for. ID Thoughts - Speak now - Fletcher - 09-24-2009 I'd like to open a discussion over the Artificial ID. Quote:Price: 75000 - Artificial Intelligence ID This is pretty restrictive considering AI ships seems to be rare under this ID. I ask either an edit or a new ID where an AI based character can fly any ship under a gunship tonnage, freeing them from the restriction of needing to be in an official faction and requiring a tag. I also ask that the 'rogue' part of the ID be altered since its begging for the character to be engaged in combat. With most being restricted to civilian and Zoner weaponry, which is not good at all to defend yourself with. (Picture a Kingfisher equipped with Purple Goddess' against a Corsairs fighter group) Its impossible to try and RP a pacifist and malfunctioning AI. Not landing on House or Corporration bases is very restrictive, forcing the player to be in the pirate lands, where they will almost certainly be killed. (9/10 times I get ganked despite pacifism). Response? ID Thoughts - Speak now - Agmen of Eladesor - 09-24-2009 ' Wrote:I'd like to open a discussion over the Artificial ID. Fletch, there's really only three situations for an AI. One, you're a member of the Harvesters - so you'll have Junkers / Junkers Guard IFF and AI ID. (Unless you're like me and accidently in trying to be helpful to someone in talking about the /droprep command in PM and screw up your rep. Still working on that one..) Two, you have someone's tag. Doesn't matter whose, per se - could be Navy, Police, Bowex, Corsairs - just so long as you HAVE a tag. Then you're a Navy AI, a Police AI, or whatever - and use the ID rules of the IFF you're showing. Three - you don't have ANY tag. Then you're a rogue, and possibly dangerous to all humanity - so that's when the main ID rules apply about where you dock and what you do. ID Thoughts - Speak now - Fletcher - 09-24-2009 This is true, but what about the ones with no tag that do not in RP wish to fight? We get explorers, and in my Sentinel 167's RP, its not a combat ship but the ID description keeps getting it thrown into combat. "Oh your a rogue AI, prepare to die". Its gotten pretty aggrivating. I just wish to probe light into this hole is all. ID Thoughts - Speak now - Elsdragon - 09-24-2009 Quote: I just wish to probe light into this hole is all. tmi......Just tmi....... Back on topic, I often do have escorts on without a trade ship. This would give them something to do , other than Mindlessly recruit in NY |
