Anyway, it seems that IW has just turned to the dark side. They are only after money now. I'm used to play CoD4 clan wars on a MOD. A mod that was created for better balancing for those more hardcore players.
Clans will hardly exist without a support of dedicated servers and modding. If there will be no clans, there won't be any competition. Without any competition, this is a short term game.
If MW2 will be a succes, it will be only because of the name.

Gameinformer is pretty much a group of developer brownnosing idiots.
But then again I'm sort of glad they are doing this. They are going to learn that drastically changing PC multiplayer like this and pissing of their customer base (big, big no-no) will spell the end of their product and quite possibly their studio. Casual gamers do not keep multiplayer going. Casual players move on after they've played SP and got owned in MP a lot. The hardcore ones keep playing to get better, the hardcore ones set up dedicated servers.
I say to hell with them. There's so many other FPS's out there and quite frankly I'll play CS:Source over this abomination. Definately not getting Modern Warfare 2 anymore. Matchmaking? This is a FPS not eHarmony.
And I also thought you were talking about MechWarrior 2.

MW2 PC is now just the 360 version made to run on PC.
Freedom of Choice that comes with PC Gaming (You choose map rotation, Custom Rules, Community Servers, the rest) is Gone
Freedom of Expression (Mods/Custom Content) is gone. You want new content? Your Wallet speaks louder then words.
