Kusari - jimmy Patterson - 10-20-2009 no tacticly the best bet is to flank with a smaller "surgical force" into (possably via jumpholes)into thre taus give them strict targets while the main fleet launches a diversion the "scaple goes for the throat" the throat equalling the kusari supply lines the scaple the "surgical force" it sounds flawed but space is fast if you can mnover around your enemy 9like modern naval battles of say world war two) use storns or nebulas to mask movements and sneak behind there supplys(mabye between kusari home space and a tou system) you do two things 1. drive a wedge in the supplys and reinforcements 2> blunt the offencive as they have to resecure the rear lines(asumeing the front of the BAF push on the "new" kusari rear(leeds) Kusari - Friday - 10-20-2009 A flanking maneuver could work - but not via the Omegas. If Bretonia gathered a large enough force, they could move up through Coranado/Baffin and attack directly into Tau-29 and Kyushu. Strategically speaking, if Kusari were to be put on the back foot - they would turn more towards the CR, and possibly even the Corsairs, for assistance (Corsairs more for guerrilla raids into Bretonias back door). Kusari - teschy - 10-20-2009 Kusari should be definitely pushed back in the next mod version. I mean, they are stretched on a single line of systems, completely surrounded by Bretonian systems. The Bretonians could ambush them from Newcastle, Tau 23, Edinburgh, while still holding the line at Leeds. And take note that when you ambush, numbers don't matter. The idea would be to move the MacDuff to the Leeds jumphole, and at the same time, assault northern Leeds from the west (using the York) and south (using the Derby). That way, Bretonia retakes Stokes and Glasgow, and destroys/pushes back the Nagasaki. Kusari - n00bl3t - 10-20-2009 ' Wrote:A flanking maneuver could work - but not via the Omegas. Dundee? Kusari - Exsiled_one - 10-20-2009 Hm... No idea. But it is true that Corsairs aren't that well equipped to invade bretonia atm. They lost casablanca base, and thats a huge shame imo. Fes is out there, Cadiz minds the omega 5, but there's nothing beyond that. We're safe from invasion in our grounds (players + npc things), but actually furthering our progress.. No idea. We have to deal with hessians and SCRA first. We have enough problems. But then again who says when Bretonia pulls all the forces towards Kusari, that hessians / SCRA / Corsairs / Mollies wouldn't all be fighting for their share. Kusari - Exsiled_one - 10-20-2009 :DGuess he's not a good marshal But seriously, you can't let people overrun leeds and advance into NL, because losing leeds is a crush of Bretonia. Complete crush. Kusari - Durandal - 10-20-2009 Logically, should Kusari be pushed back? Yes. But I still think it'd be interesting seeing Bretonia under Kusari occupation, at least NL and Leeds with resistance in Newcastle and Cambridge. (The Mollies would probably overtake Dublin entirely) Kusari - sempai17 - 10-20-2009 ' Wrote:I think Kusari is about to fall. They are getting too big its true, but I rekon the Brets are going to come back and send em' packing. Its inevitable- Kusari's hold on the tau's will deminish. There are several flaws with this plan. 1) As of now Planet Leeds (as I understand it) is still firmly under Bretonian control and will remain so. Planet Leeds is a strong foothold for Bretonia and allows them to base ships and troops in Leeds. It is relatively simple to defend and even harder to take over. (to take over a planet requires troops be be landed on the surface. Although kusari is large, it cannot logistically land on a planet and take over) That is why Kusari hasn't taken Harris yet. The sheer number of ships and manpower required to take a Planet such as Leeds would set back Kusari operations for months if they even succeed. 2) Sending a fleet through Rhienland would require that Bretonia gets permission from the Rhienland Government (who is at war with Liberty). That would most likely end up with some sort of treaty or agreement. This would upset Liberty (Bretonia's closest allies who have remained neutral between kusari/breton war) and would either: A- Cut off any support that was being sent to Bretonia and/or accepting of Bretonian refugees. or B (worst case scenario)- Liberty sides with Kusari (because Bretonia technically sided with Rhienland) and attacks Manchester. Libety and Kusari would ally. Kusari would entice the GMG and aid them in attacking Rhienland. Liberty and Kusari are of sufficient power to support a two fronted war (however it would be difficult on both sides but still logistically plausible). *NOTE: The reason Liberty haven't asked Bretonia if they could pass through to attack rheinland is because they couldn't support a two-front war with kusari (a strong war machine) and Bretonia couldn't support any sort of two front war (with constant attacks from rhienland and kusari) they would be pushed back into NL and eventual into Liberty, thus creating a 3 front war for Liberty. 3) IF they manage to make it to New Tokyo (with their limited supplies) more then half the fleet, plus local police forces, PLUS all the anti-foreigner terrorists would defend New Tokyo (that is if they didn't already confront them at Honshu) ALSO- this would take away valuable ships from New London, which would otherwise be protecting that system. What's to stop Kusari from over running THAT battle lines with their ships? It is at the moment, a war of attrition, in my opinion. If this continues, supplies to Harris will soon dwindle to nothing and forces there will have to make the choice of surrendering, or try to fight out and regroup in Bretonian control space. either way, Harris is going to fall. Kusari forces have made it to Stokes, however cannot advance further due to heavy resistance from Ships based on Leeds. This point is only established front line in the war. Kusari can only hold that point until the other forces either secure the loose ends or punch through the weaker defenses. On paper, your plan works, however you have to put in diplomacy in this as well. This tactic wold work on a PvP server or your run of the mill RTS, not a very involved RP server such as this one. everything one does can alter the fact. Kusari - DeathsOverture - 10-20-2009 Don't bring a hostile fleet into the Sigma-13 region of the nebula. The GMG invented nebula tactics... don't you people learn!? Also, who do you expect to supply this super fleet that plans on invading New Tokyo? The Golden C? |
