So, the fact that there's a tiny little glitch in this massive amount of win makes it fail? I think not.
And if I were to pass judgment, I'd wonder why he would restart as an Outcast to become a trial, given that you start closer to the Shrine normally, and the ID gives you a repfix anyway.

Guns. You can buy Wryms and Krakens with OC rep.
Once you have the ID... That is no longer possible.

So loot the Rattlesnake on your way by, it has two Krakens, I think. Level Nines.
You'd otherwise get those at Malta after doing some missions...
Those two weapons are usually enough to defend myself against NPCs should I come across them.
Being a trial isn't about combat at all.
