Yes, that happens with a lot of people lately...

If you want to PvP, please, that's why we have the PvP server. Why is it so hard to have some common sense?

not being hash but the PvP sever is good but you need more money to start with. for example PvP in fighters on PvP sever or PvP in BS on RP sever i know wot i would chose(RP one).

the best way is to dock out side the system that you are going to fight in so if you die you are out straight away with out people b***hing about you having to leave the system.

Thats what trading is for...

Now anyway, docking in combat should count as a death... But the only thing is it better actually be combat, not just a trader running away, docking, and saying "HA HA! I'm dead. You can touch me".

Dead eh? - Craines - 05-28-2007

If I dock from combat it is because I can't continue on without dying. My roleplay does kinda make me have to escape in that situation (I *am* the ambassador, after all!), and I'm not going to be stupid enough to reengage the person who just routed me. However, I may redock and go about my business, so long as my opponents are no longer there.

Whether or not I'm 'allowed' to continue on really doesn't matter to me; it is hard to RP when you're 'dead', so I don't take that idea into account. Escape pods are a glorious thing, and there are far more than one single destroyer on planet Honshu.

Meh, my rant.

Yes, I agree, but, however, it would take you some time (and that's not 5 minutes) to get a new ship anyway.

Guys, I'm pretty sure just because their dead, doesn't mean the WINNER can't attack them again. If the person dies, they can't fight you again, unless you shoot first. So being dead doesn't defend a trader. Perhaps just a 2 hour time added onto the 1 death rule. You must leave the system for 2 hours unless it is your faction's home system (heck, factions can make their own rules in those home systems anyway..). Seems like that would fix alot of the problems, just be the person being restricted for 2 hours. Its a decent time. Not too long, or too short in my opinion. People don't want fights every 15 minutes, so 2 hours should suffice.

Lets not call RP "role playing" anymore.

Lets call it "rule playing".

Concerning the PvP server...I had characters deleted there three times (including the time when the server was called "Rogue Ideas"), in the third I was already joking with the chars names. Might I trust that server after all that? Spend lots of hours with trading to see all the money vanish? Give me 500 million as a start and then I will trust on it.

Dead eh? - Nightfall - 05-28-2007

Anyway, on every other FL server, you either get to do as the winner says or off for 24 hours out of that system you died in.

Dead eh? - bluntpencil2001 - 05-28-2007

I'm not quite getting why docking should count as a death to be honest.

Docking at a safe port seems like a perfectly legitimate method of running like the fleeing cowards are, especially for traders trying to wait pirates out.

Maybe if Repair costs were increased it would stop people taking advantage of it?

Dead eh? - DBoy1612 - 05-28-2007

Because docking in battle is like cheating... If gives you an extra advantage on your enemy that you should not have.

EXAMPLE: You are attacking someone in there home systems, they are about to die. But instead they dock, refule, and attack again and kill you.

Would you call that fair?
