RP 24/7 Server - Downtime - majkp - 06-03-2007 OK, back up now, I wasn't very succesfull with the OC'ing, processor is currently @ 2,28GHz, memory @ 812MHz, FSB @ 325MHz and it didn't go higher (I left voltages untouched for now). The server may go back down when Korrd appears. I ran some tests, but I want him to see it... Maybe it's psychosomatic, though.;) We had 30, and it did feel better, sometimes even on 30 i was getting flashing yellow, but after the server went back up, no lag at all. Infact all day today no lag at all so far... never had that much fun killing npcs:)it even meant less crashing in my transport as I find I hit things in ice fields much more often if I have yellow flashing lag. This hasn't happened so far yet... but I'd like to see it with maybe 47 on... that will really show. RP 24/7 Server - Downtime - majkp - 06-03-2007 There were 43 players on a while ago, and no lag. The thing is that the longer the server is running the higher the chance that it lags (even without showing yellow/red icon). We don't plan to enlarge the player limit yet, but hope that it doesn't have to be restarted every 2 hrs when there are almost 50 players. But I would really like to know what HW are they using for Void. Maybe it's the mod too. I think there is a lot more NPC activity on Discovery when compared to Void. But that's just my personal feeling... Going back to OC... majkp and I talked about the issue. He wants to get a new, more OC friendly Motherboard, i want to increase Vcore and the like. He will try to get the new MB, and if not successful, we will try my plan. Our primary objectives are not to increase player slots, but to make server fully playable when full. If we are successful with the later, we will talk about the former... |
