- Installed AVG and Zone alarm (seem to be working fine)
- Disabled UAC
Still cant connect

I'm not exactly sure how you do this, but could you try pinging the server to see if you can get a connection? Also, if you're using Windows, have you turned off the windows firewall? Lastly, have you turned off your router firewall? Restarting it isn't enough.

Pinged the server, i can get a connection, but in spite of everything ive done i still cant connect!
UAC is off
Firewall is now zone alarm, whith Freelancer allowed
Router Firewall is off
Fresh install of Freelancer
NOTHING IS WORKING! FFS! Why did microsoft abandon this game?
I'm willing to try one more thing, but after that, i'm giving up.

Hmm... What's your ping to the server? Is it possible that your connection timed out before it could be established? Try connecting on a different computer? Try making sure you have a valid account number? (To do this you could create a new Windows user account and play from there)

Ive changed my account number every time ive re-installed Freelancer, just to check that.
The pings good, usualy around 30 to 50
