Try the Molly Republic.

We don't have a ton of people, but the ones we do have are nice.
We can all roleplay, and we all do.

Generally we pirate ships for supplies and fun, and take all the previous gold for ourselves. More often than not, we run afoul of the local authorities when we're trying to do so, and this can lead to some great roleplay, and sometimes some combat. (I'm not good at PvP myself.) Generally anything you do with a Molly is good-natured, and I personally use a lot of ironic humour when roleplaying. They all talk with accents, they're angry miners - most things end up being woven through with good amounts of humour, I find. From calling Austin Goodmen "Goodman" or "Goodie" to harping on about the evils of the Synth Paste to a trader carrying it... and then exploding it all over his hull so he has to clean it. Bwahaha.

And those two things just happened in the last two times I was online. (And we also blew up two cruisers. That was actually fun...)

Applying all that into roleplay is quite fun. People are never really loathe to roleplay back, as we deal with BAF, BPA, Kusari, Gaians, Corsairs, Buccaneers, etc. Those factions aren't spammed by lolwutters (Corsairs, at least. Mostly those that come to Bretonia can roleplay.) There's plenty of traders to catch and roleplay with as well. Miners in Dublin too.

Pretty much everyone you find who has an IFF and is in Bretonia can roleplay, save for the itinerant loltrader you find once in a while. Generally, the Gatway and BMM and Bowex gents we run into are great to roleplay with - as are all the other groups within Bretonia. The one exception is some of the miners in Dublin - more often than not, they're the sort who F1 or run away without a word as soon as they see you. (They get so very annoying after a while, and I never explicitly go out looking for them.) Other than those fiends, Bretonia is not lacking in roleplay.

It is, amittedly, a little lighter than some other areas when it comes player count, but it's been rising lately; and we've been having good, good fun with it.

Hm... I think..
[TBH], NLH, AU, Ageira|, Maquis|, EFL, IDF, Wilde (?), [KNF], [KSP], Kishiro|, Hogosha ( [|] ), [HF]- , [AFA], Cryer|, BHG|Core- , VF), [GC], IMG|, Harvesters, maybe some Researches...
Try one of those..

Taus are waiting!

The big upside of sticking with us is that you get to do just about everything. Mine, trade, fight, hunt smugglers, explore, RP.

You're bored? You just switch to another ship without leaving group.

' Wrote:I haven't seen the Keepers a lot recently, and there are very few of them anyways. You could try them (even if it takes 3 months to actually get it).

We were gonna head down to the Omicrons, maybe run around Bretland yesterday, but we got intercepted by a squad of Order fighters and an Osiris (that didn't attack, which pleased me) in Kappa.

You might not see us much, but it sure ain't for lack of our trying.

That said, Kusari could use some love.

Phantoms ?

What ?!? No RP as phantom ? "U red I keel U" isn't RP now ?

I'd say then GMG, KSP, GC, FA, Hogosha, BD, Gaians, Omega corsair (what ? You ever saw one ?), RFP, Bundshuh, Unioners, BPA, Molly

That's at least 11 serious ones, mind them all.

May I recommend Gallia? Almost no oorp, and ideal for a "non-moneymaking" character. GRN| for the Royal Navy and LC| for the Council. Or Maquis| for the Marquis.

Or, consider Les Enfants Perdus. Play a disgraced aristocrat in a Light or Heavy Fighter. Volunteer for suicide missions, forlorn hope charges, dangerous recon missions (hide and seek!) and fighting impossible odds! Victory or Death!

KNF or MR.

I'd reccomend the KSP over the KNF. But really, all the police forces need a boost. That opens up the BPA, RFP, KSP and LPI.

What Jammi said. And anyone else who suggested KSP.

We need some dedicated players. Many of the older members (The ones who have been around since before I became Chokan) aren't really KSP-ing anymore. We're getting some new members every now and then, but we don't have as many active officers as I'd like.

Or if you want, any of the other house police forces. Or [6], as Ivan said. Or a house military, if you really want to, but I think the police need people more than the militaries do. It's up to you.

(Yay KSP!)

Wow, I'm happy about all these replies, thanks everyone.

Now, I've narrowed it down to a few. No offense to those of you who posted faction not included in the following list, it's nothing personal.

Molly Republic
That sounds great, but I'm a little intimidated by the accents.
I feel like it'd be a pain to type like that all the time.

<strike>Keepers
I've certainly never done anything like this before, and I'd love to give being a nomad a try, but the admin approval thing is putting me off. It's partially because I don't know what's required of me. Do I need to write up a big nomad RP? Or do I just need to have been around long enough to have proven that I won't take advantage of the "hostile to everyone" status?
Also...I don't know how bored I'd get of the ships.</strike>

<strike>GMG
Someone mentioned the GMG, I think...
This one is kinda like my "Oooh, shiney!" desire.
The ships are pretty, that's my only incentive at the moment.
I know very little about this faction, so I'll not bother asking questions and just read the faction page.</strike>

<strike>RFP/KSP/BPA
I'm a huge fan of light fighters, so I know I'd be happy with my ship if I was to join a police faction. But I've been in BPA before, and don't get me wrong it was a great experience, I'm just not sure if it's what I'm looking for now. This character I'll be making will most likely be my only non-trader char. I'm trying to limit myself...
I'd need some serious convincing to join one of these, but it's possible.</strike>

Gallic Factions
The whole of Gallia is just frightening to me.
I've never been in one of the systems, and on top of that I know little about what's going on there.
Also, I dislike 90% of the ship models, no offense to the creator(s). I just don't like the style.
That being said, I'm still seriously considering moving to Gallia.

So, I'm gonna go read up on all these factions, then I'll come back later today and read whatever else is posted here and narrow the list further. Hopefully to one candidate.

Thanks again for your input, to those of you who posted. Especially to those of you who included some info about the faction(s) you suggested. You've all been a big help already.

EDIT:
Quoted from the Keepers faction status page: "Recruitment is currently closed"
So...that's out.

Also, NLH doesn't seem to have too many people.
I've always sorta wanted to be a Gaian.
How active are they?

No GMG, it was redundant of me to consider it in the first place considering gas minin/h-fuel shipping is a major part of the organization. Which I don't want.

I've also ruled out the police factions.
