Personally, i think the arwing replace was so rediculous. You replace the only sair LF worth flying into a titan-sized HF... REAL great job on that one devs. Whats next, replace the cruiser with a giant lunchbox?

I really liked the old BH GB, not the Orca but the other smaller brown colored one. In fact I liked the Orca as well.

If memory serves me correctly, that old ship was from Star Wars. As that counts as an import, I don't think that ship will be coming back any time soon (I'll be damned if it does, I for one hated it).

Download discovery 4.83 or .84
Voila... you can fly those ships!

They won't be brought back.

No, the Lunchbox was replaced with a Gunboat.

As much as I loved the GMG homeworld ships (man the old GMG HF was a sick puppy!) - I have grown to love their replacements.

Onward and upward!

What Luna said did make a point.... It WAS the only LF that could take on a corsair VHF, aside from it being an import and people with a glich problem, Maybe the corsiars were too afraid of it?....

How many LF can you name that could do the same as the arwing? I cant think of any that could..

But Like I said, I flew it for the looks....

One bug the Arwing had was that it's projectiles were often invisible to it's target. Thats quite an advantage.
The old Tiger Shark was used to good effect against Sabres for a while but the Arwing wasn't used because some pilots felt it lent them an unfair advantage against the Outcasts. The old Decurion could turn about as well as a Titan so very few used it. The new one however has been seen in massed combat and performs very well, even if it is outclassed in weaponry compared to some light fighters. I'm sure it's been balanced in other ways and looks pretty good as well (IMO).

Incidently, I thought the Gladiator wasn't meant as a replacement for the Arwing but as an alternative to the Centurion. An alternative which has proved very popular, given it's numbers.

Pretty much.

The Arwing was unfriendly to your opponents not so much because it was a light fighter but because it was glitched like crazy. And when it was replaced, the slot previously taken by the Arwing was used for the Gladiator; the Gladiator was not meant to "replace" the Arwing in any sense other than that the Arwing needed to be removed, the Gladiator needed to be added, and people who could fly the former were the same as those that could fly the latter. If anything, the new Decurion (the usable one) is the replacement for the Arwing.

As to the OP...

No.

We're moving away from imports. Even the Firefly will see its demise sooner or later, and it's more FL-ish than most. This is Freelancer, not Star Wars or Homeworld.
