ADMIN NOTICE: F1 in space during combat - Panzer - 07-24-2007

Twice to me...

Huge fight, Outcasts and phantoms ganged up vs me and Doom (both in vipers)

Craaaazzzzyyyy fight , lost connection twice then.

Nevertheless, if it's gonna fix something, I'm all for it.

' Wrote:heh. my internet likes to d/c me so i guess ill be prone to mechanical faliure:)

hasnt done it in a fight yet tho.
Got me in one once. When I came back, my liner had a third of its hull gone. (I mentioned it briefly in my log.)

I hope it doesn't become a problem for me.

I'm all for it - for one it relieves the Admins from the stress of having to sanction the player. I'm all for giving them a break. I'm just guessing, but I bet they get at least 2 or 3 complaints a day for this sort of thing. Auto-punishment is much more appropriate and fits well with RP. I know of at least one faction out there (trader types) who've F1'd on me twice (once in Colorado and again 10 minutes later in Galileo). Went through the whole scanning and demanding money thing, started depleting his shields and poof - he's gone. Found out later he doesn't speak English.

Anyway, glad to see this one come about. A little discomfort for transferring credit cards, but I don't have a habit of doing this anyway.

Hhmm this will definitely effect ship to ship transfers and make the use of CC void surly?

It just seems a little long to me, what about normal players that swith chars in space aswell?

30 maybe 40 is more than enough to kill a trader imo.

It may have curtailed the use of credit cards just a little, but convenience for money transfers is not the
issue, its the use of F1 for other purposes that has brought this about.
Transfers between players will just take a little more time and thought now. Make it part of the roleplay.

F1 is a big issue. If people keeps doing it, we then take more drastic measures.
Also, 100 seconds of delay is better than my idea: IP ban.

I make it a policy to dock before logging off. I't really isn't that difficult if you know the layout of the system you are in. There should be at least one place you can dock in each one, be it a hooshga base in kusari space, or a IMG base when you are hostile with the outcasts.

This however is not true for some of the systems like omicron beta, alpha, gamma, and a few others.

ADMIN NOTICE: F1 in space during combat - Fellow Hoodlum - 09-11-2007

Smiley, part of your roleplay should be not getting caught out in hostile space then. If you know
there is nowhere to dock, then you are in trouble in the first place.
If you get killed in a battle in hostile space, then your re-spawn spot will then discourage another
re-occurring problem now ... Re-engagement.
I'm sure something to curtail that can be found, and just as drastic in its measures ...
More power to the existing rules please.

Im all for it. I never F1 in space, combat or no combat, so good on the admins for this one. I would put F1 at number two on my list of most hated offenses.

Not that anyone really cares, but here is my list of top 5 personally hated offenses:
1. Swearing in system chat
2. F1'ing in space during combat
3. Re-engaging
4. Pointless OOC drabble in system chat
5. Completely un-RP ship/id/tag/activity selection
