"Alright Open all Scanners. Set it to Maximum Range! Doctor Carlisle, any status on the hostiles we're dealing with?"

"Hold on we're receiving 2 images from the ship....... It appears that the hostiles are unknown on any database I have. We have to becareful sir."

"Bannon, is the boarding party ready?"

"Ready sir"

"Good now lets wait for other ships."

Moments later.........

Aboard [TAZ]Ambassador's.Ark

"Commander Cook, we have cleared the Jumphole. Shields at full to counter the radiation," announced the helmsman.
"Very good," she replied, "Commence on scanning the system."
She then made a shipwide announcement, "Attention all personnel, this is Commander Cook. We are scanning the Kepler system for the source of the distress signal. Engineering, we are in radiation fields so monitor all systems. Medical, be prepared for casualties and to the landing party, be armed and ready should we need you."

At impulse, the Ark worked it's way through the southwest radiation field, scanning for the source of the transmission. Passing Gnome Base, they found nothing else but continued scanning and making comm messages in hopes they would be heard.

They also made a communication to [TAZ]Chao's.Eyes to begin a joint search effort.

[font=Book Antiqua]The wreck of the Noveria is lifeless in B2... The scars of the fight are everywhere on the vessel while the last two survivors are stuck in the escape pod of the cargo bay 3... Larry is talking to the wall, watching the plant growing on his Commander at the same time.

"Commander, I've found it," jumped the helmsman, "sector B2."
"Make for it then," ordered Commander Cook. She then sat in her seat, "Sickbay, prepare for casualties and I want a security team there as a precaution." She sighed, "we don't know what we're getting into and I won't have the Ambassador's shuttle wrecked."

"Engineering," she continued, "stand bye transporters to beam any survivors to sick bay."
She then sent a comm to the Chao's Eyes

"To Commander of the [TAZ]Chao's Eyes, this is Commander Alicia Cook of [TAZ]Ambassador's.Ark, we have found them in sector B2. Rendezvous there should we need your guns. We will take the survivors in here. I may also borrow a security detail if you have it," was the message.

The Ark then hit it's cruise engine and headed for sector B2.

[font=Book Antiqua]There is only a few hours left to our last two survivors.

"Slow to impulse, Helmsman," ordered the Commander. She then sat down and looked to her com officer, "Begin scanning. As soon as you find any life signs, beam them directly to sick bay."

The next several minutes were tense and no one spoke. The sounds of the ship's computers and equipment was heard. Each person could hear their own heart beating, their own breath coming and going.

"Found something, Ma'am," said the com officer, "I read two life signs. In range in approximately 30 seconds."
It was a long 30 seconds as the ship impulsed within range and into a field of wreckage.
"I have a lock," he added.
"Engage the transporter," Commander Cook ordered and within a few seconds, the two survivors found themselves in the ship's sick bay.

With no other life signs, they gathered what nav data they could and made there way to Ames Research Station.

"Med.Force.One, this is Commander Alicia Cook of the Ark, I have two survivors from the Noveria. I will update you on their status when I have something," called the Commander in a long range but secure communication.
"This is Dr. Edward Tesh, Chief Medical Officer aboard Med.Force.One," returned the voice, "we will monitor things from here until you can get here."

Sector B2, Kepler system aboard [TAZ]Chao's.Eyes.

"Transmission received.", said Banner.
Captain Rainus just woke up from his sleep. "What happened, Bannon?"
"The Ambassador's Ark just picked up the 2 survivors. They went to Ames already."
"Damm We're late, thankfully they picked it up. I've to apologize to the Commander .Set course for Ames. They may need some support."
"Aye, Captain."

// Sorry for not responding yesterday. I had my last final examinations today and now we're done with it.

The Ark was docking with the Ames research station. Aboard, they all heard the story about The Noveria and everything was ready for their arrival. Some Zoners were afraid of what they were about to see, the transmissions of Larry concerning the "unidentified lifeform" growing on his commander rised a lot of questions, even fear for some people.

The airlock opened, Larry left The Ark. He looked very very pale, at the edge of falling asleep. Two members of the medical crew approached the man when Larry suddently became agressive, violently pushing one of the medics.
"It's your fault ! ALL OF YOU ! She died by YOUR fault ! Cowards ! Betrayers ! Where were you when WE NEEDED YOU !" Larry unholstered his pistol, his forehead was sweating, his eyes constantly looking at the slightest movement.

A girl in a white outfit slowly approached him. "Larry, we all know what you've been through, a lot of your friends died, do you think they would want to see you like this? We can help you, but only if you lower this gun. We don't need more people to die today." Larry looked at her for a few seconds. "M..My poor Lucy, I miss you so much my poor sister... my little Lucy..." Tears were seen, everyone in the docking bay was divided between emotion and fear. "You'll get through, Larry. We are all one big family." The girl smiled at Larry, slowly reaching Larrys pistol with a hand as they started to walk toward the medical zone.

A few minutes later, Dr. Alicia Shepard arrived in the docking bay with two assistants. A man was waiting for thems in front of the airlock. "Dr. Shepard, I'm the crewman Johnson. Please follow me, I will guide you to your -package-." The small team entered the airlock, and a few seconds later, they were in the Ark, going through a few levels before reaching the detention zone.
"We decided to put her in a statis chamber since the -thing- was still growing, we know almost nothing about the threat, and to be honest I don't even want to know, all this crap is scary." said Johnson.
"Don't be worried Mr. Johnson, I'll handle the matter now." said Dr. Shepard, smiling.

They left the ship, pushing the statis container to the medical bay. The medical crew and the scientists were waiting. "My friends... here she is. Run all the usual tests, we need to know what we are dealing with."
It took a few hours to do all the tests, but they were now all completed, it was time to discuss the results.
"Dr. Gordy, I heard you've found something interesting." said Dr. Shepard.
Dr. Gordy turned on the main screen. "As you can see, we have... here... her heart. But ! The very interesting part, if you look... here... see this mass ? It's... another heart or actually something that does the same thing. So unless she has suffered a mutation or was born with two hearts, I can assume... that we are the spectators of a fusion between a human and... something else."
Everyone in the room was astonished. Dr. Shepard came closer to the screen, looking at the mystery. "Pu... Put her back in the statis pod, I need to inform some people of what's going on here." Dr. Shepard moved to her office, still astonished of the situation.

I guess the video says it all... I have no idea of what to do, anything that we do could kill her. I need your input.

From his chambers aboard Med.Force.One, John Holliday read the report and saw the video. He understood the rage the man known as Larry felt. He studied things a bit further but was baffled himself. He called his senior medical officers, Dr. Koji Tenaka and Dr. Edward Tesh, for a conference. With what he had, they met in a research room.
They studied the two hearts but no one had a real idea of what to think.
"It could be Nomad," said Dr. Tesh with concern.
"Nothing I've ever seen before," added Dr. Tenaka.
Concerned, John Holliday stood up and began pacing in thought. He knew doing nothing WOULD be deadly and knew doing something COULD be just as deadly. He knew that either decision he made would have serious consequences.
"Until we get them out here, there's nothing we can effectively do," commented Dr. Tenaka.
John turned to them both, "I can't make this decision alone. What would you gentlemen do?"

The two doctors looked at each other and didn't need to say anything. They nodded to each other and then looked to the man who entrusted them. "John, get them here as soon as you can," said Dr. Tesh, "it is the right thing to do even if it isn't the popular thing to do."

John sighed, nodded and then spoke softly, "I will make it so. Prepare the research labs and a surgical room for their arrival." The two doctors said nothing. They nodded, got up and left to do as instructed.

Doc then returned to his chambers, standing before the window that looked out into space. He sighed as a strange thought crossed his mind. He thought of how he had a second chance at life, mysteriously being reborn. He then felt the laser scar on his chest, where he had received his own lung transplant, a third chance at life. It was then he began feeling better about his decision. Sitting at his desk, he went to transmit a message when he noticed the picture of him and Midori on their wedding day.
He thought of her as he picked up the picture and stared at it, smiling as he thought of the child so was getting closer to having. Yes, today was about life.

Dr. Shepard, this may not be a popular decision but I will have the Ark bring you all to Med.Force.One. We will rendezvous with it in Sigma 19. I fear a Nomad infestation so I am securing the medical ward on the Ark. Upon arrival, I plan to get some people who understand Nomads here. I hope doing this is a wrong thing to do in the sense that it is something else. I will see you upon arrival.

Dr. John Henry Holliday
