Spacecraft, hell any craft in existence, is not about looking cool, it's all about performance.

Except we're not in space, we're in a game. Craft can both look cool AND have good performance because VIDEOGAMES!

I agree with this statement.

Shmexyness is the only reason that I flew a pirate Kingfisher for about a month. It was hawt. It sucked in PvP, but at least it looked better than... Well, just about everything.

1. I don't think existing ships should be remodelled this way at all.

2. I do see some potential for ships in this kind of style as new ships. With all the wars, each house developing specialized atmospheric fighters (still space-capable of course) for those times when they need more precision than orbital bombardment makes perfect sense to me. Not many models, but some - maybe one per house and a few other relevant factions, at least one civilian type since it has non-military applications (particularly for the IMG, to support planetary surveys)...

The fact that it wouldn't actually work is irrelevant next to the fact that it looks more suitable for it and we can say "Valhalla did it." if anyone asks.

So yeah. No to replacing old ones, yes to making new ones like this.

Plus, it'd work for people like Beagle that like this style.

On that note, I want that Defender.

Let me mention that this is in no way built to replace or even put in Freelancer. What I attempted to do here was merely to introduce another vision of what Freelancer ships -could- have looked liked in another way of thinking.

This said, I'd like to add that I am no professional modeller, just an average girl that likes to fool around with 3D and studies in art.

I'm glad some of you enjoy it though. Thanks. I have stopped the production of further models though, to focus myself on humanoid modelling instead.

Like Lunaphase kept whining at me when we were dictating a design for the 522nd...

I would really like to see more compacted and professional looking Military equipment. I never really understood why several ships have fancy smancy stuff when they are being used on the frontline.

I mean you don't see Abrams rolling up with chromium rims, fuzzy dice. Or let alone the 9th Marine Battalion driving around in pimped out HMMWV's.

Plus, when the ship doesn't look like a Sportscar I can go around and sing "They see me rollin... they hatin..."

To a more Freelancer Style, based off the Upholder - because I dislike "bubble" cockpit...
