doesnt seem quite fair... - uspatriotsf - 09-09-2007 I have mentioned this before. It's not against the rules, and I think that would be a tough rule to impose anyway, but it is a cheap tactic. I've decided when I PvP with someone and they use one of these cheap strategies (using their enemies bs as a shield is another) I wont fight. I'll just say //gf and cruise away. doesnt seem quite fair... - yurineova - 09-09-2007 Alot of people do this, and me thinks it is cheap. I can understand if you have to blast an NPC or two to get them off your back, but to farm them for that reason, thats just being real cheap. doesnt seem quite fair... - Victor - 09-09-2007 I wonder wether it is outside of the hard-coding to make anything dropped by a destroyed ship available for everyone, instead of just the person whom did the destroying... ... it would stop this tactic from being used, me thinks. doesnt seem quite fair... - Dopamino - 09-09-2007 it is available for everyone... the guy didn't even shoot them himself, which REALLY pisses me off. at least his friend was shooting hessians (within rp) doesnt seem quite fair... - Fellow Hoodlum - 09-09-2007 Its a bloody lame tactic, and unfortunately not against the rules. For sad buggers who have no chance of winning a fight without that sort of gameplay. *Unprintable line* Killing your own NPCs is about as low and despicable as it gets, and anyone caught doing that seriously deserves an RP sanction, and I would definately report any lowlife I caught doing that. I hope a few here would also do the same. Stamp on that before it starts. *More unprintable lines* Hoodlum doesnt seem quite fair... - Archelon - 09-09-2007 ' Wrote:Which is exactly whet that SA GB frozen was talking about did. You should really put a rule against farming NPCs. Yup - this is no different than shield running. Look at the spirit and intent of that rule. It was created so the fight would not go on indefinitely. ' Wrote:Personally I'm seeing it happening a lot nowadays, mostly large vessels killing friendly to them NPCs around to grab bots/bats. Technically they should be expelled from the player factions they are belong to, it's an act of treason after all, intentionally killing of his/her own allies, NPC or not. If they don't seem to care about RP and take any opportunity to win in PvP... I guess then there should be a rule restricting such behavior. Killing their own (or allied) NPC's is a tactic known to be a PVP whore tactic. These folks don't get it and are more concerned with winning the fight than being a part of the RP community. ' Wrote:Its a bloody lame tactic, and unfortunately not against the rules. For sad buggers who have no chance of May not be against the letter of the law (because its not spelled out) but does go against the spirit and intent of the following rules: Quote:4.8 Remember that Discovery is a roleplaying server. Factions and faction members (just like all other players) are obliged to act in the way their reputation and status require. 4.8 is definitely not happening if they're farming their own and allied NPC's. And 7.1 specifically states that combat must be on a roleplay basis. doesnt seem quite fair... - Dopamino - 09-09-2007 could we get a rule for this? doesnt seem quite fair... - yurineova - 09-09-2007 ' Wrote:Its a bloody lame tactic, and unfortunately not against the rules. For sad buggers who have no chance ofUsually, I dont catch this, and dont complain, but Maybe I should report, neh? doesnt seem quite fair... - Knucklehead - 09-09-2007 My question is why did the BHG-tagged ship attack you in the first place? Junkers aren't technically pirates, they just happen to favor the pirates more than the lawful groups. They don't have hostile relations with the BHG either. If he attacked simply because junkers appear red on his screen, he had better rethink his actions in the future. doesnt seem quite fair... - Dopamino - 09-09-2007 he was red to me, bit idk. most junker missions are anti-BHG tho... |
