Xenos - pipsqueak - 09-11-2007 25k ? The second closest is 11k in Nuclear mine and it travels at 80 and can kill most fighters in 2 hits. Xenos are not made of money and if they are RP'ing, they should not have a lot of money to begin with. You forgt that it will take quite a lot of practice to set the bomb of correctly. Too close to the gate, and it moves and hits the trade lane. Too far and it may not hit the target. and then they have a 30 second window. After which the mine expirees. Though they could make a very expensive version with speed = 0 and time = 50 seconds same damage for 50k each. Now imagine seeing that being set off on popular trade lanes. instant Xeno attack. And again, no other faction except terrorists should be allowed to use this. Lol, may be call this mine a terrorist mine and let that be used as a second form of ID for terrorists. Horus, if you wish to RP a Xeno, work with what you have ... Doom does it very well against large odds. That NPC faction is not for lazy RPers who want a terrorist ticket to kill anything that moves, regardless of whether it fits into a story or not. Roleplay, not PvP here of course. It really is not giving them an edge, it is merely leveling the playing field a little. Xenos - Fellow Hoodlum - 09-11-2007 Pip, they do not have an edge as an NPC faction, why would they have an edge in roleplay ? They are the Xenos, go and read their backstory. They are also the only faction ID that gives the chance to terrorize as opposed to just pirate, with the exception of one. An 'uber' weapon, at huge cost is not in their budget, and of course would be out there for others to abuse. Hoodlum Xenos - pipsqueak - 09-11-2007 hmm... I agree, to a certain extent. But what about a speed of 0. And stays around for 1 minute. A terror weapon with no potential target. Like terrorists now a days do. They bomb places. The reason, to disrupt the unwanted factions so they eventually leave. Terrorists drop it at the end of trade lanes to disrupt traders. A bomb. Which sits there till some one runs into it. Frankly, Xenos need something to terrorize with. I understand it is tough to make a ship but a detonation device ? Also if they have splash damage (big) then xenos will take care not to deploy it too close to their opponent's ship or else we have a suicide Bomber. Remember a mine with a speed of 0 is an IED that terrorists today use. Though they have no uber weapons (And thank god for that).I idea would be for the Xenos to drop these mines and leave the area. and let the next unfortunate perrson that comes by, get it... Remember a mine like this will not even kill a starflyer with its shields up (as you would need two to take the shields and hull down) and the only way you would get hit is if you run into it... This will help against Cap ships though, but that in return will restrict the use of cap ships away from trade lanes as the Xenos threat becomes slightly more prominent. Xenos - horus5 - 09-12-2007 i totally understand the xenos situation i just think something shouuld be added to th xenos(like every other facton) this is suppose to in the future so id think if the xenos were still around something would have changed to keep them in the ball game i just think for further development of this mod...there virtually the only faction that hasnt changed or have a low amount of access to the modds aminities thats all really i dont mean give them more power i just think something should be added to them for example..think about really world situations of terrorist true they vitually have no power as far as capital and economy but theres still something that keeps them around i think xenos lack the tools to keep up with what the modd adds to the other factions i think if there still around they need something that has kept them there (i like pips idea..plus you can make it only availible to terrorist...and i dont think it a huge uber wep thats gonna make eveyone flock to the xenos)and i think they need an offical ship, or allowed to hijack other ships and wep (like other fighters and gunboats) by making it avalible to them(just a suggestion) **NEW ADDED!!** and another thing...if everyone wants RP to be realistic... realisticly there are no rules in war..if someone wants line up 3 battleships and go from system to system killing everything that moves then they can this whole battleship whoring this is dumb that how it is, ofcourse a battleship is going to blow a fighter out easy thats what there made for isnt it..i massive arsenal (just to keep in mind) Xenos - Quigs - 09-13-2007 ' Wrote:for example..think about really world situations of terroristIdeology. For the most part you are right that there are no rules in war, especially when it comes to terrorists. (There are rules in RL, but none really apply to discovery). I like the Xenos the way they are. If someone actually RPed them correctly, they would lose just about every fight. Think about the real life fanatics of our era, they are more than willing to throw their lives away for their cause. But who says losing can't be fun too? They are supposed to be guerillas-- throwing as many wrenches (or bananas?) into Lawful gears as they can, however futile the effort. As far as special weapons are concerned, Black Widows are some of the most powerful non-codenamed guns available. Xeno's are probably the most radical of all terrorists, and such radicality usually drastically limits a groups resources. I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with you. Xenos - Doom - 09-13-2007 have u ever tried black widows?..they use so much power and have very short range...they are hard to use... Xenos dont have easy life..but they can make hell of damage:P Xenos - horus5 - 09-13-2007 i just simply think they should add something to them:P for the new modd they have no new anything, sept for a home system but hell...if they dont have enough money to build new ships, how do they keep up there own system? i just think they need to be expanded on..since this mod get improved on if weps is all they can offord make a wep that fits in to there econonomic situation..everyone makes improvments if they stick around whether there broke guerrilas or a full fledged military and yes i agree with doom on the black widows..you cant hardly mount 4 without you energy being drained too fast to matter |
