It says "Save the Princess" to me. Look up some Art, you'll definately find something more like this. Put something similar on a Rock.

afraid to say - i don t like the theme of it ( cathedral ) - dunno what to make of it. - if its meant to be creepy, its not creepy enough ( besides the only creepy cathedral theme i know of is vampire themes - where its usually semi religious good vs. evil )

now i don t think that there s anything religious about the phantoms ( at least not in the human history sense of religion ) - so i find such a theme a little misplaced.

model related:

there re details where there don t need to be any ( windows ) - a good windows skin replaces most of those details used on it.

meanwhile - the general shape of it ( the basic architecture ) looks lacking ( well, you re not finished yet ) - but really ... no need for all those details on the windows - thats as important for the model as modelling a bridgecrew on a battleship - and placing the little figures behind a transparent window. - in other words - no one will notice the difference between a texture and the mesh.

I dunno.

I fear this may look silly and out of place in game.

Imagine this floating out in space. People might go 'someone lost their bouncy castle' or 'what the hell is that live size lego church doing here'?

I'm not bashing the model. What I'm saying is that the 'cathedral' look has been taken too litterally / far. It doesn't look like a space station with gothic influences. It looks like a cathedral that was hurled into space when its original planet exploded.

I'd say, make it more space-base-ish ( is that a word?) Like the temple of the Eindolon, only add more cathedral properties to it. Not start of with a church and then try to make it look like a space station.

Both Bases are called Temple-... i don't want to spoil anything xD anyway i think it looks kind of lame.. doesnt have the freelancer feeling...

EDIT: I didn't read Dash'es post and he already told you the name of one but he didn't spell it correctly so im gonna correct him, its the Temple of the Eidolon.

Phantom Station - kingvaillant - 05-02-2010

replace the two towers by statues of...well...dunno what. And put an arch between.

Harder to model, yes, but it gives an atmosphere more easily.

Phantom Station - kuth - 05-02-2010

This looks like a castle from a fairy tale.

Doesn't fit in with Freelancer or with the Phantoms RP in my eyes. I however am not a Phantom.

I'd picture a more evil looking temple, also needs to be attached to an asteroid. A free floating castle? No please.

Phantom Station - Glis - 05-02-2010

Anyone who saw the Temple of the Revenant would disagree with this, however i do not believe the few Phantoms that seen this agree with it... O.o

Phantom Station - Turkish - 05-02-2010

Not bad, I would channel more Gothic archiectecture though. And I would also scale the towers to be much taller.

Giving it a more grand appearance. Otherwise I like the details, no texture is a substitute for a few good modeled in details. It also makes the windows pop a little more when they have glow.

Phantom Station - Not Espi - 05-02-2010

i would expect something less human-ish, but if they like it ...

Phantom Station - pipboy - 05-02-2010

Not sure about anyone else, but Dash's description of a bouncy house is what popped into my head.

Like Dash said, I would start with a space station, and add gothic architecture to it.
