New Coalition Shipline - Serpentis - 06-06-2010 Alright, heres a a better resolution Render of the new Insurgent (God I hope I grabbed the right ship) Click the Render for a bigger picture The New Partisan Revolution There, that's all of them! New Coalition Shipline - Zeltak - 06-06-2010 Can you make a small Video clip of one flying in space? If you have time of course. New Coalition Shipline - arvg - 06-06-2010 ' Wrote:Can you make a small Video clip of one flying in space? If you have time of course. No, not at this time. No other ship has such a request. Oh and that one is the Bomber. New Coalition Shipline - Altaris - 06-06-2010 ' Wrote:Haha, looking at those you really should have taken Yue's Models back then. Maybe they were having Wings, but whatever, those were much better. Hahah! You mean that Space Mil mi 24? Or that space subship thingy? No thanks. I think these models are just fine. New Coalition Shipline - Zeltak - 06-06-2010 ' Wrote:No, not at this time. No other ship has such a request. It wasn't a request. I just wanted to see how it looked like in space. Don't feel discriminated. New Coalition Shipline - aerelm - 06-06-2010 I agree with those who say these models are... 'Colorful', and also with those who say the current models look way Better and more 'Coalition'. But yet again, as Ashes said, We're not the ones to decide. You won't really see the looks of the ship when you're shooting at it! P.S: But a question; is the Cockpit staying that way, or is it just the renders that it looks like a solid color? (Like current RT Ingame) New Coalition Shipline - Serpentis - 06-06-2010 ' Wrote:I agree with those who say these models are... You won't really see the looks of the ship when you're shooting at it! The cockpits are a work of art, from a modelers standpoint, they aren't "solid" each grid thing is above the window so to say. EDIT: The renders are done, and are in post #11 New Coalition Shipline - Captain - 06-06-2010 I would join the scra for just these ships, I hope the Scra likes them aswell, they deem to be worthy replacements (imo) for the current ones New Coalition Shipline - cmfalconer - 06-06-2010 ' Wrote:*snip* That's part of it too Jinx. Propaganda and spreading the power of the Coalition. It lets others know who we are when we're there. Plus, the textures get rid of most all the old Soviet imagery in favor of Coalition imagery (hammer & cog, red stripes, etc) ' Wrote:New ship for "VIP" faction which already have plenty of unique ships? Why? Can't you give it to the unioners? They don't have own bomber or LF.. Think harder. They're replacements for the current line, not new ships. ' Wrote:*stuff*Thank you. That's pretty much the whole thing in a nutshell. And, if you do a forum search, you'll see that this issue has been re-hashed about four times before. Go search grasshoppers, it's all been said before. ' Wrote:It wasn't a request. I just wanted to see how it looked like in space.Pretty much like the high-res images that Serp made. Those are the correct textures, I just don't know how to do that (nor have the proper programs probably). ' Wrote:*rehashed stuff* Cockpits are staying as is. Opaque cockpits. There's reasoning behind it. Coalition pilots aren't out for glory, but a faceless dealer of death to our enemies. New Coalition Shipline - Jinx - 06-06-2010 @Ashes mostly: when presented here - its of course everyones right to post their impression. - when there is a navy ship presented, its not only the navy who has a say, when a zoner ship is presented, its only zoners that may comment. - when its a coalition ship presented, its not only the coalition who has a right to comment. they might have a greater right to decide wether they like them or not - but still the whole community can praise or condemn them all they like. this is mostly a feedback for the modellers here. - if i was making a ship - and the faction i made them for said "jolly good, we take them" - but the whole community that is not in the faction said "damn, these are butt ugly" - i d think again, no matter what before submitting. - and just for the record - the critizism written down here was all down to the point, no trolling, no pointless "me no likey". the current models are bad in pvp ( and they are said to have bugs, too ) - and thats based on the coalition players experience, so a replace appears to be necessary one way or another - these models will be easier to balance - cause they re all dagger like - or at least as flat as a dagger. - the skinning ( in the rendered images ) looks a little better than the CMP images, but still not convincingly good ( in my opinion - but thats a matter of taste ) however - it is true, its the coalition that lives with those models - other players will usually only see a grey blob that hardly shows much of its shape in pvp. - but the critizism stands - these are a lot more boring than the ones we have. ( mind you, boring not being a quality measure here - but rather a characteristic ) but then - why must military gear need to look exciting anyway. edit: just a bit on-the-spot critizism - the cockpit sections are good. they look heavy, armoured and kind of fierce - but they are at the same time a step backwards in terms of detail. - they are solid canopies like the ones legenation used - and while it is true that no one actually sees the difference in space - its still a quality issue. ( however, its doubtful if modelling such cockpits with solid frames and transparent glass elements is too complicated ) - the wings and nose remind me a little too much on the 21th century jets - which is the intention i guess. if anyone knows the game "crimson skies" - thats what it reminds me on - .... *retro futuristic planes from the 1960s or so" - planes people back then thought looked futuristic, but now that it IS the future, they kinda look old. - i am greatly missing vertical elements. - they re all flat as a dagger - while ships like sabre or eagle build up verticle stuff when they get heavier - might be a balance issue. well, thats about that - not much more to say about them as there s not much more detail on them to comment on. |
