PvP - Igiss - 07-07-2005 Quote:Introduce a minimum level requirement for PvP. People under that level cannot attack or be attacked.Any suggestions what level can it be exactly? For example 15 or 20 for those who have non-frighter ships, and 30 or 35 for freighter owners. Besides I don't think that we should prohibit low-level players to attack others - if someone in a Rhino attacks an Eagle, why not? *If someone really does, don't forget to make a screenshot :)* PvP - Denier-of-Soup - 07-07-2005 Then how about... high level players cannot attack low level players (lvl 25?), unless the low level player fires first. Lower level pilots will not be penalized for firing first, the higher level pilot kicking his ass will be enough to teach them a lesson. :G PvP - PotatoSamurai - 07-08-2005 I quote what I said in here from the Mod feedback thread: Quote:Making a level difference maximum for PvP seems to be the most unintrusive way to solve the level problems. However, we should also have a rule for not attacking freighters at a lesser difference, as a level 50 fighter can obliterate a level 50 freighter easily. I'd suggest a 7 level difference between fighters as a maximum, and perhaps requiring fighters attacking freighters to be of less level than the freighter -- maybe even as low as 5 or 10 levels lower.Adding to that, capital ships should be a reasonable amount lower than a fighter when attacking -- perhaps 12 to 15 levels lower, as money often does not translate to power in a cruiser as it does to an Eagle. Of course, this is somewhat complicated. Anything simpler would be welcomed. I'd suggest - Unequal PvP discouraged, no PvP NY, no PvP under level 50. Anyone over level 50 should be prepared, - pilots can't expect to fly freighters solo forever and not be attacked. That way would encourage co-operation and team-work. PvP - Denier-of-Soup - 07-09-2005 Both suggestions sound fair to me, although they are a bit strict and can be hard to follow. It is at any rate much better than extending the no PvP zone over the whole friggin sector. PvP - daedalus - 07-09-2005 I think common sense should prevail. Maybe if someone constantly attacks unfairly we can name and shame on this board (hopefully it won't be me!) PvP - Igiss - 07-09-2005 Level 50 restriction for everyone seems too high for me. And I guess players won't find it very convenient if they'll have to count the level difference each time they see another player. Quote:Then how about... high level players cannot attack low level players (lvl 25?), unless the low level player fires first. However, I don't think there is any need to introduce a level restriction for freighters at all. So, IMHO it should be this way: attacking original game freighters, from Rhino to Humpback, is not allowed. Attacking everything beyond, from Repair Ship to Large Train, is allowed everywhere and regardless of level. If you are flying a gunboat or cruiser or battleship, anyone may attack you regardless of level too. PvP - Denier-of-Soup - 07-09-2005 So when will this new rule be put into action? PvP - Igiss - 07-09-2005 When I will put the rules on forum and make a new banner entry for server, tomorrow. PvP - Wrath - 07-15-2005 if we do server events with changing prices, are there going to be any pvp changes for the duration of the event, and only in the locations of the event? |
