Beads of sweat had collected on their foreheads and the food on their plates had not diminished even in the slightest. At was as though time stopped while he was gone. Carefully, one of the men pulled a parcel tube from his jacket, stepping up cautiously and walking to Otis, handing it to him. "Here, mon ami. For you." On the station of Roppongi... - Zelot - 06-23-2010 Jethro took the piece of paper, and without looking at it, placed it face down on the table. "Have you gentlemen read this piece of paper? Has madam Dupont told you the details of our discussion?" On the station of Roppongi... - Shagohad - 06-23-2010 "Non, Monsieur Jethro. We have only looked at the markings on the back. On the station of Roppongi... - Zelot - 06-23-2010 "Something has occurred to me, how is it you would know the letter is in French, if you have not read it?" Jethro asked, his voice remaining quite calm. On the station of Roppongi... - Shagohad - 06-23-2010 Their red color remained. Not because of what he said, but because of their own people. "Because, mon ami, the Directeur does not know how to read Sirian...She even told us. If you could not read Gallic, one of us is meant to be a translator." The man who was the main speaker pointed to himself. On the station of Roppongi... - Zelot - 06-23-2010 Jethro let a broad smile cross his face. "Excellent, then why dont you translate this for me" he said, sliding the paper across the table. On the station of Roppongi... - Shagohad - 06-23-2010 "Oui, mon ami," He said softly, looking to his companions. He quickly took up the paper, reading in shaky English as he translated, occasionally going back to mend his sentences: " Bonjour, monsieur Otis of the Independent Nationale dGallia. If you recall, you had generously donated to and supported the Gallic Royal Police in what is declared high treason against the isolation of Gallia and heresy against the King. Understand how grave this is. Alas, I believe you are a business man and idle chatter is pointless. What is done is done. Let me get to my terms: 1. I hope these terms are acceptable. If you have any additions or amendments to add, please send them in the form of a written document sent by each of the individuals standing before you. They are trust worthy and capable. The ones that survived, that is. I look forward to your favorable reply. Signed, Directeur Chloe Dupont, Margrave dBastille " He finished, slightly out of breath. Slowly, his eyes swept up, trying to meet his, reading his expression. On the station of Roppongi... - Zelot - 06-24-2010 Jethro looked the other man up and down. Turning around he walked over to the bar, pouring himself a cup of coffee. "Well... this sounds appropriate enough, Otis picked up a stamp, and affixed the stamp to the bottom of the paper." The small man was at the table again, he appeared without a sound. Jethro handed the paper to the man, and his disappeared again. Jethro walked back to the bar, and placed several glasses on a tray, opening a bottle he poured a brown liquid into the glasses and placed the tray on the table, passing each man a glass. "This is Sake, it is a traditional Kusari rice wine...something to be shared with friends." With that, Jethro tipped his glass and drank the liquid. Before Jethro was done drinking, the small man had returned with several copies of the stamped paper. "Here you go gentlemen," he said passing out the copies to each man. "You can go back to Madam Dupont and tell her you were successful in your mission. Please, enjoy our hospitality as long as you want. Renzu has arranged for several suites for you to stay in as long as you need, a chef and steward have been placed in your suites to take care of anything you need during your stay. My thanks." With that, Jethro turned and left the room and the small man was at the table again. "Can I show you to your suites?" |
