One more idea - Swallow - 09-02-2010 Today i have began RPing with commodities. I have gunboat class ship with 3 crew members, so i bought 10 units of fuel, water food and ox. After some time ill drop out empty containers and buy new comms. One more idea - Govedo13 - 09-02-2010 The whole Mod is OORP in certain point of view, anyway the cannon idea for H-Fuel rocks. One more idea - Klaus.Neumann - 09-02-2010 Nice idea, but fundamentally OoRP in itself. The crew don't go in the cargo hold. That's where cargo goes. Likewise, the fuel goes in the fuel tanks, and the food goes in the crew's stores. What's to be gained from this anyway? If people really want to carry the "RP" cargo, they will. Otherwise, you'll just confuse new players. Not that I have anything against people storing their crews/fuel in their cargo bays. It just seems a bit odd. EDIT: Also, with the Outcasts and Cardamine thing: sure, they're reliant on the stuff, but could they really get through a whole ton of it in one flight? Really? One more idea - Coin - 09-02-2010 nostalgia - he means make crew a dockable part of the ship, like armour or scanner One more idea - TheJarl - 09-02-2010 I used to carry lots of stuff on my GB. But since I'm not really a very good PvPer and I am usually broke, I couldn't afford it anymore. I now just have 20x Spacecrew 5x H-fuel In the past I also had Oxygen, water, food, light arms, and many, many more things. But as soon as I get killed, and that does happen to me more often than I would like, I have to buy everything again and they aren't sold all in one place and it is expensive. One more idea - Klaus.Neumann - 09-02-2010 Really? Quote: In game we have commodities as like food, water, h-fuel, oxygen and other. So why our characters dont use them? Looks like he's talking about cargo to me. And that's not really the point. The crew are in the ship in the same way that the flight controls/instruments/pilot's chair etc... What do you gain by forcing people to buy them? Unless buying "better" crew makes your ship work better it's just a waste of everybody's time. Like I said, if people really do want to do it, they can under the current setup. Why change it? One more idea - Swallow - 09-02-2010 ' Wrote:Nice idea, but fundamentally OoRP in itself. You also can think like this: fuel is already in tanks, food and water is already in storages, but that containers in cargo bay is for future use. About cardy-you can take a ton with you, of course. Then it would be necessary to have with you at least one unit of drugs One more idea - Coin - 09-02-2010 h-fuel as a part of the ships equipt is a good idea, but we cannot modify it.... yet. perhaps something can be done akin to the ID's - cant buy that ship, or the 'you have no thruster you cannot leave the dock' part of the code. the only way to disable a ship without RP cargo is to make the cargo part of the equipt, and not merely 'loot' One more idea - Swallow - 09-02-2010 ' Wrote:Really? And why not? Ok, if no one wount change comms, then why not to use current ones, why not to make quality of RPing better? One more idea - Klaus.Neumann - 09-02-2010 I disagree. RP should be about choice (how does my Rogue deal with passing traders? How does my Police character respond to a call for help?). If the choice is between buying H-Fuel and not taking off, you haven't created a choice, or increased RP value. You've just added another way to drain people's cash- that's fine for veteran players with millions to burn, but how's it going to affect those who've only just started? You all clearly think differently, though, so, I give up. But I bet this will never be implemented... |
