Maybe not fascism, but a touch of elitism, Unselie. Hey, we all can't afford a 60 gigafooz backbone connection. The net and/or the server has been sub-par for the last few days, and now we're gonna have a witch hunt.

Look, i am not saying kick them from the server.
But if warned, they should really listen.
He didn't say he doesn't want to leave the battle.
He said first that he is not lagging, just dodging good (lol, i know to make a difference, thank you)
And then later he ignored.
If he is already lagging, he shouldn't go around telling people to improve their aim.
And most certainly he shouldn't go around telling that he's a good dodger.
Because, that is insulting.
Next time i see him around, i will dock, tell him that he won the battle, and ignore him totally.
And it has nothing to do with Fascism.
What about all those who money-cheat because they have no time to trade?
But they want their battleships soooo badly.
Should we allow them to play too?
Maybe it's not a good example, but in every single multyplayer game i have played, lag is sanctionable.

I have 256 kbps connection speed. And i have 70-80 ping. And i never lag.
And i live in a country with a crappy internet connection.
And what is the worst, it is fixable.
Lost packages are not a normal thing, and they make lag exist.
If someone has 5-10%, he will lag a bit.
But i bet this guy had like 40% lost packages at least.

This was more like 33.6k on a pulse dial telephone modem connection. It wasn't a "small lag" from time to time...Looked to me more like guy activated E-mule or torrent and clogged his upload on max, but still refused to unload the program, or leave the fight.
U have lag? No prob...trade...even PASS bots/batteries to help ur friends (some ppl are really getting good at that...kinda home made manufacture)...but DON'T try to fight and obstruct it.
Having a decent connection is far from "elitism". I have a crappy connection and a crappy ISP that has problems quite often. Than I w8 for it to be solved. I don't go on Counter Strike server or battlefield or here to lag people to death...

I lag. On a regular basis. Why? My distance from my house to the server. That's across the pond and down a few countries. So my ping on average, probably anywhere from 180 to 200 milliseconds. My connection would have nothing to do with it, as I have a 1,536 kbps down/384 kbps up connection. What I run probably affects it a little as I usually have YIM, MSN, and Xfire running to make sure I can still talk to people (and it probably eats tons of my upstream bandwidth, but I can't really have any of those closed).
Then again, my PvP encounters stay rather low...too busy killing BHG NPCs or any other hostile NPCs:P

I remember the days of Quake when having a ping below 200 (which I never did) would draw the envy of every other player on the server. Ah, the good ol' days.

I have the 2nd fastest internet connection available in my country.....4M DSL but the problem is Im in the middle of nowhere (South Africa) that still has an ancient backbone connection.
Telkom (Telecoms Company) has ht emonopoly as all ISP's have to utilise thier lines.
What does this mean... I have a ping of 480....Its frustrating......:angry:
So I dont PvP.... do some missions and Trade. Id love to PvP but I think this would be beneficial to the community at large, most probably irritate the hell out of everybody.

Look lag is something almost all of us have to deal with at some point or another...some more than others...we are all just trying to have fun...its just part of the game so just make due...

I was able to reproduce this today, but to good results.
The pilot i was fighting was warping around extensively. After trying to fix the situation so the fight could continue, i gave up and told him why i was leaving. He confirmed that he was getting a yellow icon during a good portion of the fight, but on his end he was not warping. He was also nice enough to understand after i explained what i was seeing, and we called off the fight for that time, and are going to try again a different day.
Good outcome, but that lag was ugly. I actually had my shield regen, then with the shield still up my hull took 3 separate hits in a row, like 3 shots from a weapon refiring. Thats about what did it for me. Lag so bad that the hull is registering damage after the shields are back up is not worth the trouble.
What spoils it most was when he was not lagging, and we were making solid passes it was fine, and the fight would have been a good one. Hopefully i'll see him again so we can try another time:D

LAG has nothing to do with RP. Therefore, it shouldn't be a huge issue here unless the person is pvp whoring which would be an issue in and of itself.
