LFs are great in numbers. BHG has a wing of dedicated LFs, which we must start flying again. I used to fly LFs all the time. I could dodge (badly) and still get away with things that'd leave a VHF a smoking wreck. In fact, seeing how useless I am in a VHF I may well revert.
I've got a Bulldog and it's great fun. If I could hit a damn thing with the MR I might actually win a fight or two.

Heavy Fighter - if the enemy isn't good, you'll do fine, if they know what they're doing and are using a sabre, may god save you.
Light Fighter - OH******!!! It's a nuke!!! RUNNN!!!! If you know what you're doing and know how to nuke trap, you might pull some impressive stunts, otherwise - DODGE THE NUKE MAN!!!

The exception to this is the Bayonet, which is an incredible ship. I find myself doing better in this than most VHFs.
