"Elite factions" - Primitive - 06-19-2011 ' Wrote:I'm thinking about it, but dunno really, why are there some "elite" factions, what cant available as an indie? I mean Nomads (yes, I know the trial ID), Wild, Coalition. Why not. If you are afraid to apply to official faction you are practically stating that you want to RP an lulzy idiot in the first place. So being indie doesn't give you freedom do to what you want, it gives you freedom to be idiot. Don't get me wrong. I have fair share of my indies. "Elite factions" - Rapur - 06-19-2011 I think you already answered your own question. Although, they could add few restrictions to their ID, and make it available to public, but then they couldn't wave their dick. I mean! The quality of their RP would drop drastically, and we don't want that, now do we?! "Elite factions" - Wraga - 06-19-2011 ' Wrote:Why not. [color=#000000]Well, I have to disagree. First of all, there are a LOT OF indie players who play far better RP than official ones. Since I already a member of some official factions, I have to say, that to be indie gives you more freedom, and well...anybody could be an idiot, it doesnt matter he belongs to an official faction or not. Maybe I just don't feel like joining a faction? Isn't that freedom? "Elite factions" - Wraga - 06-19-2011 ' Wrote:The Coalition is 'elite', because of the nature of the RP. The Coalition's military is kept under a very tight leash due to loyalty conditioning, with disobedience being dealt with by capital punishment. There is also the fact that they have a Sirius-wide ID that allows them a number of PvP liberties. However, the reason is more to do with the former than the latter. So far as PvP goes, you can do just as much, if not more, with the generic Pirate ID. [color=#000000]Yes, I'm absolutely understand that there are some faction owners who would like to keep their rights to be "special" by an ID or a ship, but dont understand the motivation about giving a chance for indies to play there without their observe. I dont want to popularize idiocy, but I'm well sure that everybody knows, there are a lot of "experienced" players who like to be an indie, because the restrictions of some official faction leaders. "Elite factions" - jxie93 - 06-19-2011 Because most of those factions' ID's hold relatively loose rules which can be abused and bring an enormous amount of butthurt upon the community, ooRP and RP. Their leaders and admins don't want the responsibility and effort required to restrict and sanction violators in a case by case basis so they throw a blanket ban on open membership. Disco is an elitist community and that won't change in the foreseeable future. "Elite factions" - Primitive - 06-19-2011 ' Wrote:Maybe I just don't feel like joining a faction? Isn't that freedom? Touché "Elite factions" - Wraga - 06-19-2011 ' Wrote:Can you tell me what freedom does it give you ? Sure. If somebody joining for an official factions, he has to keep rules what comes from other members, who has "higher rank" in that faction and has to follow their RP. As an indie, you can make your own way, without punishment about it. Discovery is a roleplay server, where you can play yourself as you like it, not as others like it.
