Hello im Vampyre on the server i dont get why players should get a couple of million its taken less than 16 hours to get a fully trick valkyrie

I believe in giving people a good start. But if i see a newbie flying round begging for money and not leaving the manhattan area, I will only advise him. Whereas if I see a newbie fighting his way to explore the badlands, or get a rogue rep from the beginning I will be more than happy to help in funding him, or setting him up. The other day, I saw a player being mauled by rogues at pittsburg, flying boron and pharmacuticals etc. I bought him a trade ship and pointed out some good trade routes, he has now, in only a week or so transormed himself into a competent, well equipped player. A little push in the right direction can make all the difference, but only if someone deserves and is willing to earn it.

I know someone who did that...... I gave someone(on a Vanilla server) 50k, and the next day, he had a Sabre with Nomad weaponry and missiles... Mines, shield....
He then did save my ass from the CAF... o.O
He helped me when they attacked my system.

HAd that happen on Discovery about a month ago, gave up about 30 mill, from my trader, couple days later had a Saber, 2 eagles, and 2 Titans helpin me fight a pair of player Nomad battleships in Berlin.

I feel qualified to be able to comment on this one...As I joined not long ago
I would have been quite happy to have made my own way on the server having
spent time in completing the SP and mapping the entire Sirius system.
This makes it easier to know where all the best routes for trading are, though never
having played as a trader before,it was going to take a little longer. Anyway I was picked out by Finius who, how shall I put it, invested in me. So I shall be covering
his ass in the future.
I've now been here a little while and it is fairly easy to spot somebody who is
prepared to make a go of it and not sit in NY and beg. I offered to help a new
Character the other evening who was getting round everywhere in the Liberty system
and he actually turned me down... That was refreshing
So I think everyone out there can use their own judgement as to whether they invest or
not.

I hope it's not too late for me to chime in on this one. Not long ago, I was a newbie tryin to build up a trading character. I made some progress on my own, but not much money. Then I got a loan (thanx again Hoodlum!) Now I've got plenty of money and I can help others. I am curious though...if a faction member loans you money....well let's just say that even though i've repaid the "loan", I may not have repaid my "debt". Still unclear about all the faction stuff. :wacko:

This thing happedned to me on almost every other game........ :wacko: But not Freelancer
