The Cybernet - The Place to find the correct value - Lennox - 06-02-2012

Newcomers

He awoke from a long slumber. Lying in a bed in a dark room, not even a sparkle of light around, he thought to himself he must have dreamed for very long. All the memories were altered for some reason. It all appeared like it only was a long and complex dream of happenings he could not relate to his real life anylonger. It was like he never lived those moments.

As he began to look around, he noticed a big machine in the room where the bed was standing. He forced himself on the feet and looked upon the the big, seemingly still working object. He went closer to touch the outer shell, feeling the cold of the metal. The surface was vibrating heavily as if there would be something bigger inside, something heavy with a lot of energy. He pulled out his scanner and investigated the surface of it. It was some kind of metal, he didn't know nor saw it before. He wondered what it is or what it was. However it seemed like it lost it's purpose for some reason.

He looked back into the direction where the bed were standing. But it wasn't there anylonger. His surroundings seemed to clear up, but there still wasn't anything to recognize except for pure black. He only noticed, that the machine was growing bigger and wider. He stepped back and watched the action with a raised eyebrow. It took some time to realize the size didn't really change at all. But the machine was now completely exposed in the huge, dark chamber. He just didn't know what it was.

Was it reality or just another so called dream he had?

One could think he was out of his mind when he was waking up, screaming something about a non-existant language and an extraterrestrial 'container'.

**<2nd floor, room 318. 27°C. Patient status: Increased neural activity; stress; increased heartbeat; irregular breathing.>**
The people monitoring the activity immediately sent someone to look after the patient. When the sent doctor arrived at the room, he already heard the patient's words and opened the door. For a moment there was silence, the patient was just staring at him with empty eyes. Everything seemed to be normal again.

The doctor just frowned and went closer to do the usual checks, ignoring the things he heard before when he was still standing outside the room.

"How are we today, Mister Lennox? Did you have those dreams again?"
"Who are you...and why am I here? What is this here?"
"You are in the infirmary of Mainz, near Holstein. A few pilots of Police found your ship drifting through space near the cloud in this system."

On that, the patient the doctor called Lennox just looked confused on the blanket on his lap, frowning. Lennox couldn't remember anything at all. Nothing of what he had done, nor something close to what could had happened to him. He looked at the doctor most questioningly, but wondered about what he told him.

'Near the cloud in this system...'

Lennox thought to himself, shaking his head. For some reason there were connections, memories 'in' that cloud, like planted into his head. Lennox stood up, against the will of the doctor, who was trying to calm him down, and looked around the room, scanning for something, that could be some kind of important.

But all Lennox saw wasn't interesting. He moved to the windows, which were covered by tight curtains, and took a peek out of the window. He saw nothing but the cloud...

It had been another long night of nightmares and odd visions. Continuosly seeing numbers and odd pictures of something important to him in his subconscious, Lennox shook his head as he looked through the windows, at the cloud again. Was it only him or did others felt odd about his behavior as well? He didn't know anylonger and shrugged that thought away.

He stood up and walked to the sink in the room, waking up himself by a splash of water with his two hands. He looked into the mirror above the sink and looked at himself, mumbling something while shaking his head. Lennox still wasn't able to remember anything. Everything seemed like a complete new life...without any prior experience or events, that could had affected him.

"Why am I here...I am not supposed to be here..."

Suddenly somebody knocked on the door and opened the door a few moments after. A doctor, someone else than the one the day before, stepped in and glanced at Lennox, head shaking.

"Good morning, Mister Lennox...you should lie in your bed...not walking around...we still don't know what is going on with you..."

Lennox just rolled his eyes and walked back to the bed, sitting down on it. He glanced at the doctor, annoyed, with an asking expression. The doctor sat down infront of him and looked into Lennox's eyes.

"We've analyzed your brain, the blood flow of your body and the regular activity of your body. Your body itself doesn't get sufficient 'power' for some reason. The amount of blood flowing through your body is lower than..."

It took a while until the doctor continued, by himself not knowing anything about what happened to Lennox.

"Than the amount of blood in your head...it is rather...unusual lately."
"What do you mean? Lately? How long am I here already?"

The doctor didn't answer on that and just sighed. It almost looked like the doctor didn't know that by himself.

"Let me ensure you, it's for your very own best. Now please lie down again and rest..."
"Hmpf...this all stinks..."

As Lennox finally laid back in the bed, the doctor pulled something out of his coat. Lennox looked through the windows again, watching the nebula with a frown. 'I don't get it...' he thought. That moment, he noticed something penetrating through his skin at the neck. He quickly eyed the doctor, who was injecting him something with a syringe. With a quick reacion, Lennox kicked him away, but it was already too late. Most of the liquid has been injected into his main artery already. His view blurred and he fell down, losing consciousness...
