I'm glad he asked because I have a decked out fighter and I always manage to hit the bomber AND myself with my own cannonball missile. It's embarrassing to say the least. Getting behind them may be the answer.
Then again, I still get out manuvered by bombers in my fighter. Fighter skills I have not.

As for bs-missiles, they seem to track worse and loose their target after passing it since the update (might have been the server load though), so I'm not sure if that's still possible.

Don't joust directly on.
Use the VHFs superior agility to outmaneuver a bomber.
Be patient with taking your target down or you will make stupid mistakes.
Do a bit of shield running, when your shield is down.
Use WASD, always.

You'd have loved 4.84 and early 4.85.
Unfortunately it's impossible to make bombers completely useless against VHF, just fly in a circle when you lose shield and spam him with razors or missiles, or just you know, guns.
Most bombers can be hit, but then again there are a lot of bombers that are stupidly small, like the bombers in Kusari or various other bombers that, while not small, are hard to hit; the Praetorian and the RM bomber.

That's why I die in VHF against bombers often. =) I have no patience.

The best missile is paralyzer, they cant shoot snac when their core has been drained. Still you will need some other weapon to kill them, and faster guns hit the target more often, so a good set of 4.0 is the best choice IMO.
But even then it takes so long to kill them that they have called in their friends by the time you get them into closing position.
All combat in disco is have a gank squad. If you are caught solo, fight to survive until your gank squad can come and even out the enemy gank squad.

Box strafing works very well.
If I can't snipe you or nuke you, I'm screwed.
Set your wasd keys to strafe up, left, down, and right respeectively, and use them constantly.
Cannonballs can be useful but fail if the server is laggy.

Take a MR and some missiles. Try to keep your shields up. He won't hit you with his SNAC if you'll dodge like crazy. And yes, slide slide and slide.
You'll stop moving, you'll die.
