Problem - the real one, in my eyes, is that the Order is quite desperate. Maybe the most desperate of all the faction, because it seems the Liberty Navy is actively searching its total destruction (comparatively, the other factions arent that searched by their respective lawful counterpart, by that I mean, you wont see a police patrol anywhere near a pirate station usually). Here, the navy has breached in omicron minor, previous headquarter of the Order, and cruiser patrols roam the system.

Despite the suposed alliance with the corsair (which I often find quite questionnable), the Order would unfortunately have very limited field of action, as their immediate concern should be their space protection, seriously invaded by Liberty.

' Wrote:there are logistical problems going across the neutral, militaristic Rheinland territories across light years of space and fighting a virtual war against Liberty in one of the most secret systems in Sirius while also fighting against a force powerful enough to give plenty of trouble to the Kriegsmarine.
It doesn't seem to stop the Keepers though, does it? And they are in an actual war with...everyone, not just Liberty, and they don't have any allies at all.
It also doesn't stop BHG from roaming everywhere, when they are basically at war with every pirate they come across.
But I do understand your point and I'm not trying to argue about it. I'm just trying to figure out some practicalities.
As I see it, if it isn't outside of their roleplay restrictions for the Keepers to travel to Newcastle, then it shouldn't be outside of their roleplay restrictions for The Order to pursue them to Newcastle (as just one example). Also, if the Keepers have an interest in Sunderland, why wouldn't The Order?

The Nomads are capable of constructing 5-7 kilometre warships capable of destroying entire stars and have dozens of battleships in Omicron Kappa alone. The Order is so hard pressed they have to ally with the Corsairs and have no cruisers.

The Order - Horon - 04-21-2008

The alliance with Corsairs is, for The Order, one of technology. Its a "you share with us, we share with you" type alliance, probably because both factions live on the doorstep of Nomad-kind. Just look at the Nephy-somethings infocard. Theres proof of the sharing of their discoveries right there...

Ok, so The Order wouldn't venture forth into Liberty or against Das Wilde because it would require so much of their personnel to put together an offensive force that Toledo would basically be left undefended. I can buy that line of reasoning easily.
Now lets say an Order member is in Omicron Delta, and someone comes along (Mercenary, Trader, Zoner, whatever that might be neutral otherwise) and the vessel has Nomad brains on board. If The Order member fails to persuade the vessel to relinquish the dangerous Nomad materials, wouldn't The Order use force to make it happen? The bar rumors indicate that the governments are experimenting with Nomads, and The Order would want to stop this above all else, it seems to me. Stopping the transport of Nomad brains to the colonies seems like the practical way to do this. I find it hard to believe that The Order would be nonchalant about Nomad brains being transported back into the colonies, or anywhere else. If the House governments can declare them offlimits without a license, then The Order ought to be able to regard them as "contraband" altogether. Paranoia might even extend such a ban to alien organisms as well.

I agree with you, but not an Order player here, so best to suggest it to them.

"**PERSONAL ENTRY: "We managed to make it out of there after all. The Nomads all got sucked away into some kind of wormhole above the Nomad City. Orillion and The Order intend on keeping a close eye on it. Theyve even asked me to be their contact in Liberty."

The hint is there.. hehe

The Order - Blodo - 04-21-2008

Remember the SP campaign? Seems like (and I understand I am firing up the flame thrower here, but I will say this nonetheless) the Order has access to cloaking technology. Is it not logical for them to be able to divert a warship or two (here is where the Black Squadron comes into play) to spy around the colonies for signs of infestation, especially around the Omega systems and parts of Bretonia (Newcastle)? In RP terms it would make perfect sense as said warships could unknowingly slip through wormholes who everyone knows easily connect all parts of the colonies completely bypassing jump gates. Supply lines do present a problem if an entire fleet is launched, but if the force consists of only a few ships designed for recon and hit and run, it is more than doable.

Of course the Order would have to take the stance of a silent observer rather than participant, only intervening if Nomad activity or meddling is confirmed. Am I straying with this or does this make sense?

The Order - Xoria - 04-21-2008

That makes sense to me Blodo. I don't see The Order as having any reason to get into anyone's business, until Nomad tech or organisms or Cardamine are involved somehow. Then all Hades should break lose.
I have the feeling that this just hasn't been explored much yet for The Order's roleplaying, but perhaps now is a good time. If there are going to be two separate factions roleplaying Nomad lifeforms, then The Order should get some attention.

This is what we are made for...
The Order are the first rampart far away preventing a main invasion, but sometime Evil managed to sneak out of their defensive line.
We would be the second rampart if houses open their eyes and see the threat inside their own border. Das wilde are coming... they bring with them corruption and lead humankind to self-destruction.
