The Battle of Lorraine - alphadog - 05-01-2012 Not to mention that the GRN in Burgundy would immediately notice it, and open the offensive in Champagne. The Council will have to draw forces from those defenses in order to carry out that attack. They're weak enough in there as it is. Pushing into Lorraine will cost them Champagne. The Battle of Lorraine - Veygaar - 05-02-2012 I believe the intention of this whole event was to generate some activity in Gallia as a whole. Perhaps instead of going with this particular event, as people have been shooting it down, we should all work together to bring into effect an event that everyone is satisfied with, and still brings activity for all Gallic factions. The Battle of Lorraine - Daedric - 05-02-2012 I'm sorry if I don't by the line that the intention of this was to generate activity. I do believe that the LE account very clearly stated the goal was for the LE to take over a base in Lorraine and have the ship that was taken from them become a hard coded base. It also mentioned something about acquiring an ID for itself. It would appear that, as with all things the LE have done in their time here, this was merely a guise to attempt to further their own goals. If the LE wishes to generate activity in the form of PvP slug matches, I'd suggest contacting the leaders of the GRP and GRN, and arrange something. Throwing a post on the forums that basically says: We're going to attack your bases and you're going to lose because we said so. Isn't the way to help generate activity. Contacting the people you want to have the event with and working out the details and then posting it on the forums is how you make an event in which both sides can have some fun. The Battle of Lorraine - Echo 7-7 - 05-02-2012 A Council event posted by Brigands. I don't get it. Also very strategically unsound for the Council. Champagne works for them since it is their stronghold, but launching attacks at that scale would weaken their defenses far too much. The Council's objective is to win over the hearts and minds of the Gallic people... Not stand over their dead bodies. The result of this event has been rather explicitly scripted, voiding any integrity it may or may not have. Also looks like LE wants to secure their cardi smuggling route. Lorraine also has annoying NPCs like the rest of Gallia. The Battle of Lorraine - Outlander - 05-02-2012 ' Wrote:A Council event posted by Brigands. I don't get it. Again. Shot in the dark to see what common grounds can be made for an event. Second. LE no longer ships Cardimine due to souring relations with the Outcasts. Its been like that for months. Virtually no progress has been made to further move Gallic events in months. If the people so far critcizing this event can make better ones. Please do so. I have no problem in sharing ideas. The Battle of Lorraine - Echo 7-7 - 05-02-2012 ' Wrote:Again. Shot in the dark to see what common grounds can be made for an event. Whoops. I've not been Maquis'ing for a few months; my metaphorical well of ideas has dried up because Sirian business is so taxing. Hmmmmmmmmmm. Should have a week long piracy marathon - but competitors would have to be restricted to fighters only or something like that. The only issue is the presence of traders or lack thereof. The Battle of Lorraine - Barbarossa - 05-02-2012 Fabulous work! But one problem! There's a ingame neutrality between Councils and Outcasts. Council ships never get attacked by Outcasts anymore, maybe you should see Stefz and see what he thinks about the final stage.
