Option 1:
The SRPs should be removed in general including all existing ones( I know that the owners would be upset)
Option 2:
Open for the players that have no skype friendships as well. I cannot see why it is so hard to have some special combos- now with tech nerf is even more easy- make the SRP ID to nerf all tech to 45-50% core and you are good to go add the ID to Freelancer bases, all of the existing SRP owners would keep their stuff and all SRP wannabes would be happy, if it is Special ROLE-PLAY Request not Special GUN-PLAY Request- well it is not.
Now it is just skype earned shoot everything that you want ID with the tech combo that you want without facing any/small nerf. I have more nerf using allied technology then some random SRP with random gun/ship mix. Suddenly all "great" RolePlayers would start to use their tech if they find SRPed tech not useful in PvP.
Option 3:
Other good option would be that every official faction should receive a couple of those IDs without any nerf in order to use them as they see fit- one real benefit of having to maintain official status. All existing should have official faction to back them up.
Admins "discussing" it with years make me laugh really- there is nothing to discuss actually it is so simple, not all players are idiots actually some can see the big picture.

PvP= using guns. Using guns could be in RP indeed,however the incentive to get such ID should not be the PvP because such as we all good know it breaks the general PvP balance.
As you prove 90% of the SRP owners and the people that want to own SRP are not there for typing but for PvP.
And there is huge difference between both. No-one actually asked why One should want to have SRP?
To be special then others?( People just need to feel important even in 10 years old video game) To have PvP-advantage? ( This one is clear) To develop its own character Story? (Around this forum are awsome stories that I read on work when I have nothing to do- I admit some players are really good story tellers) To bring new feature for its faction ( I for example could use SRP for Mollys in order to get one or 2 BS to pew the playerbases because we cannot even scratch their paint with Scyllas)

Just for all of those who yell in here without even knowing, SRP get nerf on any tech you put on it. I think it sums up to 82%, not sure though.

You couldn't be any more wrong if you tried. Using guns is role play. Shooting your enemy, or the trader who refuses your demand is just as much role play as talking to them is.

As has been stated numerous times, SRP's are closed. What do you do with your characters that you think might qualify for an SRP when and if they become open? I would strongly suggest you start, or continue to develop, a solid foundation of ingame and forum rp.

You shouldn't be obliged to write a novel when you should be judged on how well you can roleplay and interact with other people. If I wanted to write a story, I'd write a story, not roleplay in a multiplayer game.

The only way to get a SRP now is to make a faction. Get four of your friends together and make a faction based on a generic ID such as the pirate/freelancer. Then ask for a bunch of stuff. Keep your hours up and enjoy your SRP.
I suggest asking for a scorpion.
