Recommendation for a finest light fighter? - Korny - 06-11-2012 Loki for sure. Even though it's a tad big. Recommendation for a finest light fighter? - Zynth - 06-11-2012 Hello there, welcome to the club, the LF whore club. Now allow me to point you into the direction of the "Liberator". Well balanced and can go toe to toe with a VHF if you know what you're doin'. May not be the most agile, but as one hella'va small hitbox. Coupled with a good standard powercore and averagely good armor, it is one good fighter. Next up is the "Griffin". Little bugger has a huge surface area from the top and bottom. Turning sideways during a fight will best minimize your flaw. Take advantage of it's superior agility as one of the most, if not the most agile light fighter capable of holding 4 guns. Then there's the "Hayabusa", another personal favourite. A hitbox that is night impossible to hit from the front, and your enemy will always see your front, taking into account your amazing agility, second only to the Arrow. The only downside is your 3 gun firepower which can be a bit of a letdown when it comes to dishing out damage. Oh lookie, something tinier than a "Hayabusa", it's the "Arrow"! The speediest light fighter in the game is basically two guns strapped to a rocket. With two guns, your firepower is limited. However, you'll run circles around the enemy with one of the highest agility levels in Discovery. Pack a CD and Screamer, put out his shields and fire away. The "Scimitar" falls on the heavier side of LFs, carrying 5 guns instead of the usual 4. The turret may come in handy but do realize that the turret comes at a price. Your agility is noticeably lower and you are quite easy to hit. Vertical strafing and sideways turns make the most out of your low profile. One more little tip. As much as you feel that nukes are a good way to win in an LF, a word of warning, you will get blown up by your own mines. My suggestion is to steer clear of them and use Screamer mines instead. Recommendation for a finest light fighter? - Vulkhard Muller - 06-11-2012 Ok so look from what i have heard here i have seen my top 5 so far with The scimi: a Monster in space 5 weps more then any other LF on down side is that its core doesnt exactly like those 5 weps The Surveyor: At first i thought it was a bulky ugly as sin piece of S*** with an engine and guns that was till i found out it is the only lawful light fighter that can equip a MR which made me now appreciate it more. Not Only cant it mount a MR it also has the core to cause a threat to (in my experiences) untrained GB pilots Libby: Oh the Libby, Such a classic little LF strait from the heart of Liberty and the thing is Very one has flown it at least once cause every one loved King's ship in the story line...right? any way it can pack a punch for its size but dont think about taking on a GB or something you die lol Loki: I havent flown this little Bugger enough to give to good a review but from the times i Have flown it it has served me well. Most say killing NPC is nothing but when you go into a guard system whos NPC use the Guardian photons and make it out with a full hold of Guard pilots i believe thats says something... quick Edit: Of course the Griffin to was always a personal fav until i found out you can loose weps.... so i stopped using it and began using the surveyor how ever the griffin still is a nasty little bugger to get into a fight with if it has the right set up i personaly preferred 2 purps and 2 wild fires Side Note: Also I prefer Nukes but what the trick with them is is Lure your opponent in close drop them gun it and launch a Mosquito before they can react I've gotten a few people using a tactic i like to call " Nuclear Storm" its were you fly in circles around the opponent spamming Nukes and then fly away and mosquito them so that it will either kill them or personally from all the bright flashes disorient them maybe?lol Recommendation for a finest light fighter? - Silver - 06-11-2012 B'Nose.
Ask the BHG. <3 Recommendation for a finest light fighter? - Vulkhard Muller - 06-11-2012 ' Wrote: Um that's a Gun boat...Thing....I barely classify it As a Gunboat only reason ill give it that title its it uses GB weps but it Can be taken out by a LF if the pilot Truly wanted to a few Lokis could kill it Recommendation for a finest light fighter? - Zynth - 06-11-2012 ' Wrote: I take it all back. We have a winner right here. That bloody gunboat is swifter than a greased covered ice cube sliding on melted butter. Recommendation for a finest light fighter? - Data Minion - 06-11-2012 Righty-o, I see lot of you have some experience with these... Pests, if you can call them that way. Quote:it's the "Arrow"! The speediest light fighter in the game Got it, sure I do love it's agility, but it lacks firepower. I'm thinking an all-around, supporting AND independent at the same time fighter. So, it comes down to this: Hussar. (Yes, I'm joining the Brets, their police, to be exact) Griffin. Now, to the point. I haven't decided yet which one will I pick. The Hussie has a stronger hull, sleeker profile from straight-front, and I have some minor experience with it. The Griffin on the other hand, has a larger power core, but 1k lower hull strength (combine that with a UAU7, you get those 2.4k hullz which is not a small thing in matter of survival). Also, I'm interested in the weapon hard points of the Griffin, are they across the wings like the case with Roc, or has something changed? IMO, this significantly matters due to the fighter's accuracy, and I know where the Hussar's weap points are. I'm leaning towards Hussar, but I'd love someone to convince me otherwise. Cheers! Recommendation for a finest light fighter? - SummerMcLovin - 06-11-2012 It depends what you mean by independent. If you're joining the BPA, there are normally a couple of other people online and Hussars work better in groups. I actually fly a Paladin myself, but most are in Hussars (and you'd start in one as a Junior Constable anyway). Recommendation for a finest light fighter? - Cond0r - 06-11-2012 Liberator Recommendation for a finest light fighter? - Wafellini - 06-11-2012 I am using Hussar ...but I used the Liberty one and Order one...both good the thing with LFs is that they are preety similar and it all comes to shoot-and-run tactic or boxing someone...so yeah it's cool but if you are not good with fighters it might get hard especialy with nukes:D |
