' Wrote:Six, everything has a nickname. Take the A-10 Fighter for example: Warthog; Tank Buster; Thunderbolt. Every form of vehicle, from civilian to military have nicknames that either fits its personality. Saying that a ship shouldnt be nicknamed is similar to not giving a military unit a call sign. Nicknames are to help identify vehicles.

Sentinel doesnt sound like a name for the Liberty Gunboat, I was thinking something in the Liberty Name Range(Which is Canada and U.S.A). Tomahawk came to mind, since we're on the subject. The Kusari Gunboat is a bit different, and Wyvern isn't valid, Wyvern is European, not aisaian.

Tomahawk, for the liberty gunboat? Really? That doesn't fit the liberty tradition of naming ships at all, and the ship itself doesn't even have anything in common with a "tomahawk".

WIP, we still need to discuss it. Already have changes, Puv came up with a good name for the T23, the Patton Class Gunboat. Just like the Sherman tanks Patton commanded, T23 aren't the best gunboat and easy to take down, get a fleet, youll have a headache trying to deal with em. I started another topic, house only though.

Just a small bit of trivia: The reason the Gaian GB was named the Claymore was that when seen from the back, it kinda mimics a sword...
...a big ass, two handed Scottish Claymore lookin' mofo.

It had a disturbingly long tailpipe that looked fairly hilty, it had small wings that sorta passes for a handguard & (of course) the bulky, bladey rest of it...Hell, if you saw it like, freezefframe style, the ornamental spoiler thingies could pass for the thin leather strips they tended to hang on their swords back in the day. (y'know, like in braveheart & shizz)

Not sure when the "other" name started...but yes, it looked like one. That joke is so old though, that you'd think it would've drained its batteries after a while & fall off into the memory hole...but no. Oaw hell Naw! it's like the energizer bunny that just keeps going and going and going with...um...with a GB strapped onto its center of gravity, equipped all out with spay & pray gunnage.

But, whad'ya say we all wipe down that old joke & store it away up in the attic, tucked a box labeled 'Mommies Toys' & just move past it?

Iv always wanted to change the molly/rogue shipline a little. I dont think "Hyena" fits in there. Its the fastest, it should be the greyhound, rename the greyhound to "Boarhound"

(Better still, remove the old outdated bloodhound and wolfhound, and use thier names to get rid of wherewolf name, and give barghest to the GB)

I like your RM, and LIB, GB names. As for Wyvern being euro, not sure it matters, so are dragon and Wyrm. However Bret ships are not named after horsemen, thats just the LFs. Heavy fighters are named after special troops. So wheras Onager works for the dessie, I think Dragoon is a bit light sounding for the bret GB. How about being named after a cannon?

Kusari dessie, fine obviously.

Bounty hunter bomber: I like the sound of stingray. Works well with delivering one powerful shot, then getting out of there. Plus the shape looks simillar.

Bretonia BS: Might aswel keep calling it Dunkirk.

Rhienland BS: Ubermensch!

Kusari BS: Shenron

Rhienland cruiser: I dunno, Skelator?

Also not true, lane hackers have thier own line, the falchion LF and the bayonet HF

Been living under a rock?

Charybdis is a sea monster from Greek mythology, just like the Scylla. No idea why the caps are named differently to the snubs, which are all dogs.

Uh... why are you replying to me about that?

Regardless I looked up some more;

The civillian shuttle could do with a name. I suggest the "Startrekker" to contrast with the startracker, and because a shuttle is more of a transport "trekking" ship than other LFs.

The Ptrans and Ptrain need names. Sticking with the "Mule"-Beast-Of-Burden line of things from the vanilla pirate line of cargo ships, Im thinking "Warhorse" for the Ptrans, as its more of a combat ship, and Maybe Elephant for the Ptrain, as elephants were used to carry goods, and the ptrain is the largest in the line.

The bret royal liner could do with one too. How about "Avalon" to indicate the mystical romanitic Ideal of Britain.

The Claymore model has been replaced now, and to me it looks more like a sword, and in line with other Bretonian ships (color-wise). Markedly less like 'one of mummy's toys' too...

They had some design components from the Hackers, but are now classified as Borderworld ships. The Falchion's description doesn't even mention the Hackers.
I'd say it's a similar situation to the Outcasts. They don't have their own fighter shipline, but they use Sabres and the lighter versions as their main snub force.

Because the Lane Hackers don't own those ships anymore.

I think Crackpunch's post is meant to be two parts. The first line is in reply to you, since Falchion and Bayonet have been BW for a while now; the second part is moving back to TLI's question.
