Great Idea
Redeployment of the MacDuff is a good thing since Newcastle isn't that much threatened of the Gauls.
The Minefields on the other hand would take too much time and recourcess to set up but that was already said a few times now.
Cosmetics are always nice it gives us an atmosphere.;)
Though what the Devs are going to do with Leeds for .87 we don't know yet.
Or rather I don't know yet. :unsure:

Everything here works.
Leeds is known to be the industrial capitol of Bretonia. I'm sure it can work beyond full capacity and chug out the resources and metal needed to construct a fortress.
The battle plan is good, makes good tactical sense seeing as Bretonia's forces are already stretched thin and need to make full use of its forces.
Perhaps an extra addition could be changing the ship sales on Leeds to only sell BAF ships, just a little bit of immersion to show that Leeds has shifted all its resources to military needs out of desperation.

The shifting of Battleships, and addition of a defensive base near Leeds (player or NPC) are good ideas and fit the lore. However, I agree with some who have already said that we wouldn't have the time to create minefields, especially not the impenetrable kind.
Other possible naming schemes for the base could be in line with Roman defences. Although it's not in line with the French aspect, the "north of England" line of Leeds/Newcastle being defended from the main Scottish system of Edinburgh might make "Antonine something" a suitable name. The actual Antonine wall pretty much went through where Newcastle is now, so if the Gauls come through from there or Edinburgh, it's more fitting than I first thought :$
And of course, this depends on what the devs had in mind themselves...

But, In all probability Leeds will be fully under Gallic control or as near to it as makes no difference in .87, so I dont see this getting implemented.

p.s: Between I almost forgot...Dundee is an empty system and Stirling's Great Fleet is just sitting there. There is nothing to lose by giving away Dundee but its fleet may reinforce Leeds even more. Leeds will be protected by the combined powers of 5 fleets instead of 2 and half (ronins). In even more desperate scenario we can request ArkRoyal's FLeet from Newcastle to come as well, leaving Newcastle protected from Yamaguchi and Grimbsy.

An additional thing to consider is putting a Colonial Zephyr-class Carrier somewhere in Leeds too. I'm sure that was suggested in the Diplomacy communications a while ago, so that's a possibility. Don't forget about the 31st squadron!:D
