best very heavy fighter - RingoW - 06-10-2008 Whats the role of your char? Thats the most important question. As soon as you know it, you will have a limited ship choice, because of rules and common sense of the communtiy. So the best VHF is the one, which fits the role of your char most. AoM best very heavy fighter - hachebe - 06-11-2008 what if i supposable am a freelancer who happened to find some nomad weps on an astroyd while mining or trying to run from pirates i bumped on a unknown jumphole in theta where i had to fight my way true some nomads? then i could have nomad weps , right if i only make a story around it best very heavy fighter - Robert.Fitzgerald - 06-11-2008 Nomad weapons aren't even that great. If you are a lawful freelancer, try using civilian or zoner guns. best very heavy fighter - hribek - 06-11-2008 "There shall be no best ship or gun, because if there was, everyone would have it and we would get pretty bored." - J.R. //As you can see from the look of various players, there is no best ship - they're not all flying the same one, are they? If someone else still thinks there is a best ship ever, I'd like to point out the qualities of the notoriously underestimated ship called The Starflier. :P best very heavy fighter - Donutman - 06-12-2008 ' Wrote:well i'm used to playing with the eagle and since its a civilian ship i dont think it really belongs to anyoneTechnically, the Sabre is a civilian ship. Borderworlds=Advanced civilian. and as someones sig says; Borderworlds does NOT mean Outcast. But people would still flame you for flying it if your not Outcast/Ally. best very heavy fighter - AdamantineFist - 06-12-2008 ' Wrote:Technically, the Sabre is a civilian ship. I won't flame, I'll applaud your bravery for flying it under flak from some of the community members who feel it is an Outcast ship. Anyways, I still looove my Wrath, but you won't get your hands on one of those unless you;re in the Rheinland Military. Sabre's a great ship as well. What Jinx said about the Manta is pretty true as well. It really all comes down to your character and fighting style, really. Due to the way things have been rebalanced, and with all the added VHFs, there's a role for most ships. best very heavy fighter - Jihadjoe - 06-12-2008 I love my sabre... Its a beast of a ship, Infact I own two I like it so much. The RT is good if you find yourself on your own a lot, heavy armour big powerplant and not a vanilla ship. The eagle is still rather good as well, bit weak on the powerplant though, and quite a large target IMO but still a very nice ship to fly. The guardian is the least favourite of all my VHF's... Only 5 guns and manueverabilty about the same as an Eagle... Its not bad, but its not awesome either. best very heavy fighter - Walker - 06-12-2008 Ayep... In this mod I'd say Sabre's have it the best when they are of LH or Outcast decent since the Outcast have pure awesome hullbusters, Kraken Type 2's if they hadn't been nerfed. Ive found the Virage to be kinda nice, Its got a good amount of Guns and is flat'ish. But ive heard the RM are very very deadly, I don't know if thats just their skill or if the Wraths have received a buff but you could try it out... best very heavy fighter - Zelot - 06-12-2008 The Stinger is a very well balanced ship, with a small hitbox and a really good layout for the weapons. The Chimira is amazing if you like agile fighters. best very heavy fighter - Ding - 06-12-2008 It has been said before, and I'll just reiterate: "Know your Role" If you understand your roleplay and use the appropriate ship and weps platform for said role, you'll do fine. The ship and weapons are a matter of taste. I prefer the Raven's Talon for my character, which is a Mercenary. It is nimble and can support some pretty devesating weapons. The MERC role allows me flexibility with ships and weapons, but even so, for pure flight and fighting, it's right up there with the civi eagle. Most times, I hear people trying to shape their RP to justify their ships and weapons loadout. I would suggest avoiding this. Rather, consider what you wish to do, how you wish to develop your character and then get the ship and weapons that fit the bill, with respect to your choices. You'll enjoy the game on Disco much more and endure less headaches if you "Know your Role" and play it to the best of your ability. I hope that makes sense. See ya out there! |
