Lets have the possible scenarios what you bring against a cloaking cruiser in order to destroy it: Fighters - i believe it does not have to be commented, as long the cruiser wont forget he can cloak, it will always succesfully cloak and run bombers - unless you dont have an army of them, the cruiser will always be able to succesfully run away gunboats - they dont deal the damage quickly enough cruiser - one cruiser against another one, the cloaking cruiser will cloak as soon he knows he cannot win, the other cruiser is unable to destroy it before it cloaks battleship - no thruster, so unless you wont get close like next to him without he notices it ( for example with cloak ) you dont really have a chance to succeed. So yes, unless you dont have a fleet against cloaking capitals who do not wish to be deestroyed your chances are little. But having cloaking caps who return to fight everytime with full nanobots is really annoying. Not to mention the nowadays loved pirate cruisers... RE: Another cloak discussion - Veygaar - 02-02-2013 CD's, and if he runs to another system, take the time to refill yourself See how long he'll keep doing that. RE: Another cloak discussion - Remilia Scarlet - 02-02-2013 That's a fair question. Anyway, cloaks are all messed up and must be fixed. We did kill it. All you need is nova bombers which reveal the exact location of the invisible target. I can vouch for that, I saw it. But it took AGES. I like the idea of an ammunition count instead of cargo. RE: Another cloak discussion - Remilia Scarlet - 02-02-2013 Yes, gentlemen, why don't we discuss the topic instead of offtopic? RE: Another cloak discussion - jammi - 02-02-2013 All that's necessary is a cruise disruptor style equipment that's also produced on PoBs to stop the cloak effect. If someone happens to be carrying some missiles and tags the cloaker before he cloaks, should shut down the entire command for 5 minutes or so. RE: Another cloak discussion - Omicron - 02-02-2013 "Flares" with extremely prolonged effect of explosion would be fun way to mark and kill those capships. |
