This would be completely hilarious if they were not shooting an industry in the foot. I got a kick out of that video, and I am so looking forward to Totalbiscuit's opinion on this all, it should be rather fun.

Every copy of a game bound to one account only, games won't work after 24 hours without being online? That sounds a lot like DRM to me. Just not quite "always on" yet, but it's another step in that direction.

The PS2 was good, I regret getting a 360 in the end, so depending on further details about the console I might just go with a PS4 this gen. If anything.

I think getting a laugh out of the situation is the best there's really left to do.

Had the 360 since release, still love it. I'm too poor to afford a decent PC in todays world.

Xbox One though? Why not 720 or something, such a horrible name. I'm far more geared up for the PS4. I never disliked the PS3, I just didn't get around to having one. I'll keep the 360 but Xbox is pretty dead to me now. It's just not worth it.

So, people are expected to pay for being put on a leash, treated like crap as customers, and the possibility of constant video surveillance and analysis of their behaviour in their own living room or wherever they keep their TV and Xbox?

Also, worst name ever. That name should win a price. Why not just call it "Xbox". Or "X-Box".

Heh, good thing that I was never a console ki...person. Computer all the way. Though I guess seeing what MS does with their console, who knows what they already do with Windows... or what they will do with Windows. Maybe the "X□ 1" is kinda like an experiment, and the users are all testsubjects...

I find it kind of funny we're all finding good reasons not to get it. And nobodys brought up Kinect 2 and its compulsory use yet.

Meh.

I'll get the PS4. Here's to hoping 343 Industries puts all Halo Games on the 360 to spite Greedsofts newest PoS.

I, for one, now welcome our new PS4 Overlords.

I think this new Xbox proves that the console era is a dieing era, and the future is in PC gaming.

Even consoles are becoming more 90% normal computer, 10% console.

"Introducing the Xbox One, even though it's the third release in our Xbox series and like our 5th or 6th variation."

As Jim put it Xbawks One...out of Ten, would not play
  • Must be online at least once a day
  • Mandatory install
  • Pre-purchase subscription and payment
  • No backwards compatibility
  • No used games

What is this? Nineteen Eighty-Four?

And for once I have to say I actually agree with Stirlin, though the consoles will remain popular due to the low involvement required to actually play something on it and call yourself a "gamer", and you've got a whole generation of CODdies who want that low involvement

Nah I think it's gonna be a success; we're just the wrong type of gamers.

M$ wants to steal customers from Apple TV and the tablet market, and they might have success with better integration with the TV. TV. TV. TV. TV... TV.

Also Xbox'es have a great record of actually being quite nice little machines once they get hacked or jailbroken, maybe something nice can come out of that.

Why not have the console IN the TV? M$ missed a huge opportunity there.
