RE: Fixing mouse lag - bloogaL - 06-05-2013 Duvelske commenting on people cheating. lol EDIT: Maybe I should actually contribute, so in regards to this: (06-05-2013, 08:05 PM)Duvelske Wrote: kinda has 2 sides now isnt it. as the more FPS you have the faster your screen refreshes. so against one with 60 fps you have 3x as fast.. so it is cheating as you have an advantage over others. Your monitor's refresh rate is a fixed value, and cannot display more frames than the usual 60 (sometimes 75) frames per second anyway. The reason it is considered cheating to have your FPS at around 180 is the "jitter" it causes making your ship hard to hit while you can aim at people without any problems. Below 170 FPS and it should be fine, but vsync can cause mouse lag in some cases. Fixing this by forcing vsync off and then capping your FPS with something like dxtory makes no difference other than fixing the mouse lag. I could maybe even let it go to 500 or higher fps a second. its also not cheating then how you claim it. even if it is almost 10x as much as the 60 fps you suggested. Okay, so it's cheating when I use my 8GB Ram laptop with 60FPS vs somebody with 500MB Ram with 20FPS? Is it cheating when I attack a Waran with a Sabre? Just because I have the ability to have any kind of advantage doesn't mean I'm a cheater yo RE: Fixing mouse lag - Yber - 06-06-2013 I thought you were smart enough to know the difference between 20 vs 60 and 60 vs X. But you were not. RE: Fixing mouse lag - Reid - 06-06-2013 (06-06-2013, 08:07 AM)Yber Wrote: I thought you were smart enough to know the difference between 20 vs 60 and 60 vs X. Just so you know, dude, Freelancer+WinXP+Mozilla+Skype+antivir take less than 800 MB RAM on my PC. No matter if i had 1 GB RAM or over 9000 RAM - that wouldn't affect my PC perfomance. Needless to say that pure XP and Freelancer will fit into 512 MB. Actually, the idea of this thread is that you don't need to turn Vsync off to fix your mouse lag most likely. You just need to make some changes in Windows mouse settings. I'm sure I'm a cheater for having 120FPS RE: Fixing mouse lag - Anaximander - 06-06-2013 (06-06-2013, 10:01 AM)Duvelske Wrote: guess who laughs now? I laugh:-) You got caught cheating and now you point fingers at others for doing stuff that's been discussed a billion times and doesn't classify as cheating. That's hilarious. Pls, don't embarrass yourself any further, Besides FL has screen tearing and popping textures from hell when you switch off vsync. Mouse might be smoother, but for me at least that didn't outweigh headache-inducing visuals. Not really sure how much of an advantage it really is - I went back to 60 fps from 140 without noticing any real difference in my pvp performance. RE: Fixing mouse lag - Vrabcek - 06-06-2013 I guess it would be better if the admins would finally tell us how much fps are players allowed to use RE: Fixing mouse lag - belarusich - 06-06-2013 (06-06-2013, 07:13 PM)Vrabcek Wrote: I guess it would be better if the admins would finally tell us how much fps are players allowed to use 60.
