Probably taking more than 100 years. The order was created in 1 A.S. you know. Rheinland had a huge fleed during the storyline and didnt hold it back. Just remember in the SP when you get in Frankfurt-New Berlin. Tons of Battleships and Cruisers. I never seen the Liberty holding such a force, except... wait no exceptions. You're in Liberty for only a fraction of SP time, and don't return until you reach Alaska. In the first Liberty run, there are at least 6 cruisers, the battleships Harmony and the Unity, the dockable Dreads, and the one being constructed. When you're in Alaska, you get ambushed by 2 dreads. The opening Donau cutscene and events afterwards show that the "Colorado and it's escort are inbound", signifying that there may be another dreadnought or cruiser battlegroup. Nomad tech on the ships wouldn't disappear after the infection ended, or if said tech had logs. Rheinland had nothing left after the war, as all their remaining resources were spent on the fleet. RE: End of the Liberty-Rheinland conflict - Vredes - 10-24-2014 Ok lets talk about infestation. Liberty was the second most infected House. Remember uh? Remember? RE: End of the Liberty-Rheinland conflict - MÃmir - 10-24-2014 Leave the conflict open. If it ain't broken, why fix it? RE: End of the Liberty-Rheinland conflict - hades durin - 10-24-2014 based on the history of the houses rheinland has one of the biggest potentials. why else it has the most shipyards and there is no reason why since the end of the 80 year war rheinland didn't rebuild their fleet. don't argu rheinland is poor of resources, because rheinland has the most mining fields. liberty might be richer of money, but recources... not really RE: End of the Liberty-Rheinland conflict - Omicron - 10-24-2014 This escalated quickly... Well to hell with i, I may as well throw my Order-biased point of view. Bretonia came out as greatest military power after Nomad war, being almost unscathed by infestation, easily kicking out Rheinland with very minimal losses. Somehow they got beaten by Kusari who lost entire Honshu, Tokyo and Tohoku fleets. If you ask me, it should be them to rock Sirius in disco (until some 80 years old war grade catastrophy happens) but well, Igiss happened. Liberty has the budget and the technology. They could easily rebuilt their losses after the war. INRP they never had the will or commited sufficient resources to push any farther than independent worlds. They're throwing stuff at Gallia which is more or less at the same level. Rheinland lost all but single battleship, rest of the fleet destroyed or taken on behalf of Nomads to their hideouts. Great yet falling industry (hello, revolution) could rebuild fleet over time, which should be sufficient to defend Hamburg indefinately against Liberty. Loss of Dresden is neligible, it makes no sense for them to protect mined out system. There are no habitable planets there so it should not be considered a loss. Kusari - completely wrecked, twice. How they managed to wreck Bretonia and how they bypassed entire unlawful element of house during the coup is beyond me. More on topic of ending the war. End it, it is way long overdue. Give Rheinlanders a new battlefield, expand them to Omegas. Have some drama in Omega 3 due to Daumann presence too, drama is needed. I would not exactly mind a change of pace, since it usually is one side that is getting utterly wrecked, rarely close calls. Mostly RNC, often LNS. I have to agree with the voices that ask for a corporate war in the Omegas for resources. Rheinland wants them to rebuild the fleet, Bretonia wants them to build their defense against Gallia, CEOs want the money. Now it just needs a reason to escalate and we would have a huge war involving all kinds of parties:
It would allow for some neat twists (DHC-Corsair secret stuff going on now) and would also be quite dynamic, given that it'll be a lawless and huge furball. By creating more motivations to venture to the Omegas without relying on players already being there (mining, cap missions), you can create a big center of activity that allows for more diverse battles. P.S: Reasoning why IMG wouldn't stand alone is that it wouldn't try to put itself in such a situation, given that it most likely won't survive being the centerpiece of a sandwich between all those factions. |
