Why not?
That's basically the terrorist ID. What's so hard about an SRP?

Not everyone powertrades daily with PScrap or Nobium Ore.
So? Seriously making money in this game is not hard. Sell a few ships, go pirate. Heck, you CAN do Pscrap or whatever ore you like if you really want.
If you refuse to make money to achieve your goal, then you have no ambition. And if you don't want to work or put effort into your RP, then the admins won't make a concession and give you slightly watered down but still OP IDs as an excuse for your laziness.

As I said, not everyone powertraders daily. I barely make even 30 minutes per day to play Disco, sometimes I don't even play for a week. 30 minutes is barely enough for mining and shipping it anywhere to get those 9000k per unit. This is roleplay server, would you waste time for mindless chore, instead of actual roleplaying?

Calling someone lazy, because some people do not have time, is being a big douchebag - no offence, but this is how I see that.

Battlepelicans would be everywhere (:

Pelicans I can live with.

RE: The Pirate ID - New Changes - Sabru - 01-11-2015

Kinda sounds like a more free xeno ID, doesnt it?

no gunboats, liberal pew allowances, rephacked red to most things, very little tech.

I beg to differ. It'd be abused even as snub only ID.

Take out a loan? You have a lot of options.

RE: The Pirate ID - New Changes - Veygaar - 01-11-2015

Are people really so afraid of getting shot at by various ships in a SPACE SHOOTING GAME, that they are looking for rules to help them instead of... idk, shooting back or running?

I know I do both with all of my chars daily. That's why I play the game. To interact in a Space Shooter with miners, pirates, crazies, navies, ect. I see a wide variety each day. It's not like crazy terrorist pirates are all there is by a LONG shot.

Scouts, escorts, concurrency, or just a random naval a-hole in a light fighter following you and commentating every sneeze of yours over system chat. While a pirate's aim are the "fat, juicy, milkable transports", taking out these not necessarily "fat, juicy, milkable transports" can also significantly help milking those "fat, juicy, milkable transports". So why shouldn't these be viable targets for pirates as well?

Hey hey hey, ID doesn't say you can't engage it in self-defence. If you pirate a transport and there's a fighter, it will give you ultimatum, then attack you. It is logical it -will- initiate combat, if you are threatening client.

However, Freelancer ID is good at one thing: what if trader gave 5 million for protection BUT the one who hunts down that target will give the same or bigger sum, if he/she want to stay away from it or even help in piracy. Of course, there are inRP consequences, like FR5 and being probably on the BB, not to mention refusal of future escorts from player or whole faction. But - it is valiable to the server rules?

I had funny situation once, while being on Freelancer ID: Bounty Hunter and Outcast bidded on either me staying away or joining the fight on either side - that was hilarious, yet very interesting option.

But going back to the problem Thyrzul poined out - there is a scene in the original campaign that Bounty Hunters fire at you and Juni and Lane Hackers appear. They ask them to cease fire and go away, as they would be under protection of the Hackers (probably those Hunters did not had any bounty on them). BHG refused and Lale Hackers joined the party. I believe it would be the same with Pirate vs trader + escort.

Good and bad idea at the same time, but not impossible to implent - however, I believe being able to use ONLY GENERIC STUFF is already a great punishment for such ID. On the other hand, bigger freighters or transports used as pseudo-combat vessels is a very interesting idea (used by TheUnforgiven and me, for example - but still requires teamwork against bigger targets).

However, you miss one small point here, that I'm trying to point out.

Unlawful ID would be:

- Very rephacked, even pirates cannot be green (you can set them as being unfriendly - some of the pirate factions wouldn't even allow you to dock on their bases), as only Freelancers, Junkers and Zoners can be. Lawfuls are rephacked as normal Pirate ID, which means - ALL RED.

- Very nerfed, e.g. even getting mere Rogue Turret would give you 10% powercore, so player is forced to use generic stuff (perhaps except for Rogue//Molly snubline). Yes, you read it right, installing stuff or having ship that is non-generic would give you 10% of the powercore.

- Able to attack every ship except for transports - from those you need to demand money, then it goes like a normal ID.

Optional:

- No restart with this ID and make those sold on rather desolated places (like Tau-31).
- Make ID expensive, like Core ID is (afaik, it's 1.000.000).
- You could remove gunboats BUT I believe ID is already flawed enough with all tech nerfs and rephacks.
