The sixban drama has an impact on the community. Don't tell me new players wouldn't be affected should they want to stay.

Why the six amigos got banned?

We need clarity.
It's as easy as that.

Then it will be mayhem reloaded or slow steps back to normality, depending heavily on what the decision is and what the pardoned parties decide to do immediately afterwards.

However: without an Admin ruling, we are in a situation in which insecurity harms every side.

New players wouldn't give a monkey's about why six people got banned, there is only a handful of people out of this entire community who are making a big deal out of it while the rest of us are continuing to play regardless. What new players will see is the wonderful drama of Disco were a mishandled ban is met by stagnation of progress because the best way to correct a mistake is with another.

The sickening thing is, the entire situation could've been handled and addressed in such a simple matter, one thread titled "Concerns Over Recent Banning" followed by a list of concerns addressed to the admin team and signed by all those who share those concerns. Instead we get this farce and half a dozen other threads filled with opinion, anger and fearmongering which serves nothing but to show the very worst of a community who at it's heart can be an amazing group of people filled with good natured folks and outstanding creativity.

Learn from this mess and for all that is good upon this Earth, don't repeat it.

U w0t? Correct a mistake with another? It's not correction, it's an attempt to pressure those who can actually correct that mistake so that they may indeed do so. Outside of the Admin and Mod Teams the Devs have the most influence to affect the process, without this initiative what do we have? Bunch of threads, optimists hoping something will happen, or that at least things won't get worse, pessimists complaining about the mistakes, "fearmongering" as you worded it, or just leaving, and no guarantee that things will indeed happen.

Oh and of course a bunch of folks putting their heads deep in sand, some of them complaining why the rest doesn't do so.

I may not join them if I were a Dev, but I do not condemn their decision either. Call it necessary bad for the greater good or whatever. Or just ignore it and live your life happily ever after, like nothing have happened. Like the bans didn't happen either. Best solution, it has to be working, right?

RE: Official Notice - Development Team Strike - Achilies - 07-07-2016

Not that anyone would care about this post,BUT, as a former admin in 3 different games and 5 servers within them, you dont just ban people cuz you decided to,you make an investigation, you get evidence, you put it up against the rules of the server and decide if there has been a breach in said rules, your decision has to take into account the circumstances and intentions while at all times you use unbiased judgement,if you cannot do that,if you are related to the people in the case or if you dont feel like you can follow the set procedure then git da fuq out because admins should not have personal opinions on the people they judge since it leads to opinionated judgement rather than an unbiased one,a problem many people who become admins encounter and struggle with, sometimes without even realising it.

In this respect id like to take this thread one step further and ask for the resignations of all the admins who agreed to ban these 6 players as it is brutally obvious that your judgments are opinion driven which defeats your very purpose...though thats just my opinion.

Regarding new people,if i were new to disco and came to such a scene my first thoughts would be- " This place has its problems, not too many people playing so i might as well log some other time" after which i wouldnt log for a week and delete the game in another week.

Regarding the devs strike,to be honest i liked .84 better than this mediocrity so i dont really care if you are on strike or not, though this thread is something i give you a thumbs up for.

Just a reminder: People work on all this here for free. It's the privilegue of people to play on their server.

Just a reminder-lots of good admins worked here for free and left without making a mess out of this place.
