RE: All divisions, and administrators

I must tell evryone about 2 non negligeable informations.

first: My brother William Desari has joined the guild and has been dispathed with his own custom ship line in the omega. So far only his mining vessel, the ''Peaceful-Duty'' under the ID off IMG|William.Desari[M] is operational. Best of luck for him! , ( note:incoming background logs, some informations are already in my most recent logs)

Second: Marcus, my technical officers aboard all my ship excluding my fighter is performing a inboard electronic system checkup. Its a formalities that will take only a few space cycles to clear this out. The potential advantage of this new system will enhance the piloting and aiming sub-systems performances.

Well, you know how we call the one that make themselves both terrorist and kind gentleman in the very same day? Well yea Mercenaries. How could it be! Right I believe someone out there is out of mind. Only terrorists would openly attack citizens for pride and ''services''.

The specific group of ''terrorist'' are the Mandalorian Mercenary. It seems clear to me that they are nothing more then another source of evil threat for our society. Surprisingly we are in the same boat as the Colonial Republic, like if we were their brothers and sisters. Obviously they were send by the sniffers, the one constantly trying to kill freely our precious member. They used various technology both Border wold and civilian. Java station has been wildly attacked by them, Hopefully the casualties are minor.

Since this is a secured channel, out of reach outside the guild, I will send the official ID data here.

Name recorded:

MM-Krantz (VHF)
MM-Samuel.Hennesey (VHF)
MM-Sagg'Tar'di

Unlawfuls action (endangering our guild).

-Open attack on unarmored targets, like light mining vessels.
-Unawareness of civilian Casualty
-Terrorist behavior
-Destruction of a Colonial Republican fighter for pride.
-Engagement statement giving them ''right'' to attack any IMG and CR (equally) vessels with poor reasons.
-Cooperation with the outcast at their advantage in order to hurt us.

Maximum precaution is needed if you spot them anywhere, I recommend not to let them hang around our facilities under any circumstances!

Additional classified information is available.''

1. Name and vessel type: The Serene-Guardian, ''deep space annihilator'', pytho bomber
2. Area of operation: Tau 37, Farkland outpost sector
3. Mission: Destruction of 2 cruisers, rescue of a mate defending itself against the warships, Area security.
4. Hostiles encountered: 2 Outcast Destroyer ''Storca'' class ( Mounty , Valetta outpost )
5. Casualties on both sides: Neutral casualty, a freelancer's falcon with the pilot. Superficial scratches on my vessel.

While I was doing some flight test in our training field. I was called by ZED (Pytho), in tau 37. I was following Indigo.Reaver (Mafic) who were ready before I was. We were asked to fly direcly to farkland. Not to long later we were engaged with 2 porly armored destroyers. Meanwhile the freelancer's falcon was destroyed by their sub weapon system. The equipment scan reported Valetta fully loaded with light destroyer turret while mounty was equipped with cruisers turret, mortar, razors and pulses. Because of my previous experiences with valetta, I ordered to concentrate fire on the Monty. Then the valetta. We did a good job annihilating the 2 warships with ease. I think we are doing a good job keeping their warships at bay so far. Zed did paid the Reaver for his notable help. We then proceeded with the mining operation in the system, our typical duty. Its unfortunate for the casualty, I am sure it could have been avoided.

I sold about 5000 units of niobium ore to New Berlin today. On my way back I took MOX four Dounby. Everything went perfect. Not even one pirate in my way. Anyway, one single thing I have to say. I noticed this guy, flying one of our Atlas transports. His transponder was Interspace Commerce and I asked him if he's legaly in possession of that transport. He lied and said yes. Lucky me I didn't forgot about him and did a little research. He's not in our archives. He's probably a thief. I know you're all busy men so I ask you: Should I try to contact the guy and make him change the ship?

RE: Omega/Rheinland report

Well. It certainly was an interesting day in the Omega systems. After filling an independant trader with Beryllium ore from Cambridge on request we headed to Omega 7 to see if there were additional takers. The system was quiet, apart from a group of Kruger mining ships in the northern fields. They did not respond to hails, but were otherwise nonagressive. We found a site in the cobalt field and harvested a full load.

Upon return however to Freistadt, sensors picked up a skirmish. Two WRF fighters engaging a group of Vagrant Raiders ships. What started as a skirmish grew quickly into quite a battle, as in the end we counted 6 VR ships, 3 WRF and 2 RHA. But what was even more remarkable... The RHA vessels worked in tandem with the WRF to drive the VR back. I am not sure what the reasoning behind this alliance was, but... it's certainly noteworthy. Sensor data recorded on our mining vessel is available by request... it's not much though, due to dense nebula obscuring most of it.
We resumed our course after the skirmish ended, only briefly returning to Freistadt to check for damage, but the fight never really came near the station itself.

We headed for Ingolstadt to sell our ore load. In close proximity of the base we came upon an Atlas class transport broadcasting a junker ID. I was not aware permission was granted for them to handle these transports... perhaps they recovered a derelict and restored it. But considering Junker reputation, I imagine it is unwise to let them fly our vessels unless we are absolutely certain they are not to be used for illegitimate purposes.
Relevant details attached.

TO: General Guild Mining ops, Guild Exploration Division
FROM: John Sanders, mining vessel Carsten Miller
RE: Mining opportunity: Freeport 4 vicinity

We received a curious hail from an artificial intelligence piloted vessel (the AI calls itself "Alice", the vessel itself, a Kusari explorer gunboat called "Sleepyhead"). The vessel in question was familiar to us, we had previously encountered it on a number of occasions, once in the presence of the Colonial fighter pilot Shiro. And more recently in the Colorado system, where it was trying to reactivate an old DSE mining outpost in the Silverton field. Unsuccessfully.

The vessel alerted us to the presence of a cache of Iridium. The prospect was appealing, as to our knowledge the only known source is the far Omicron systems. So we set course for Magellan, and from there ventured into the Kansas system, previously unknown to us.
Arriving in the Kansas system we immediately noticed the binary star's gravity flux had thrown several asteroid belts and nebulae off of the zero plane. Alice her signal was coming from one of the nebulae in the north of the system, well below the zero plane. The AI was engaged in some form of mining using nanobots as minute remote mining drills, or nets. It's hard to describe. Our shipboard computer is unable to replicate this kind of control, but from what we observed, this form of mining is most effective in low yield fields, as it will literally scoop up, capture and solidify particulate matter. Dusts previously thought too fragmented to be effectively mined, could be tapped using this technique. But the computing and transmission capacity involved would require at least a station-type system. It might be something we could test at South Shields, the gas giant would be an excellent test ground. Forwarding all our observations in databurst at the end of this message.

This however was not all we observed. Within the Iridium-rich cloud lay something... that worried me greatly. A massive, but damaged structure. AI Alice identified it as a jumpgate, but inoperable. Well, if it was a jumpgate, I can tell you here and now: Ageria did not build that thing. Nor did anyone else... anyone human that is. There were massive chunks missing from the central ring, and we could detect no energy signature. But then again, the entire thing read to our sensors as a mass of inert material. A derelict borderworlds fighter nearby stuck out more strongly then the entire gate... thing. The thing feels alien in origin. With all those Order prowling about in the Taus, someone might want to give one of them a shout to investigate this gate, to make sure it would not pose a risk to future mining ventures.

Still, all the while we were mining (a second AI vessel soon joined us, with AI Alice training it in the use of nanites for mining) we did not encounter a single hostile vessel. Once the Carsten's bay was full, we did a quick survey of the system. There are two additional jumpholes in this system, one leading towards a naval base, the other towards a desolate system with just a single worthless asteroid field. A sparse darkmatter cloud in the southeast end of the system was unappealing. The southwest part contains a single, potentially inhabitable planet, a vast oceanic world, reminiscant of Kyushu. Traces of Libertine expeditions remain there, most likely they will lay claim to this planet within the next decade. An ice asteroid field is not far from this planet, but considering the abundance of water in the Barrier, it is not of great value.

It is my belief that this system could be of great value to the guild. Mining operations to this Iridium field could be based out of Freeport 6, just one system away. The Bretonian military and the Mollies as well, have shown interest in this material, with over 4000 per unit being offered at both the Belfast and Scarborough facilities in Newcastle. If travelling by jumphole, this is three systems away (5 by lane/gate), so a relatively short route.
The only drawback I suppose is that this material is new to us. We don't have specific tools to gather and process it, and the yields are a bit low. On the upside, the metal is so dense and corrosion resistant, that it will withstand the high energy purging of standard transport plasma weaponry. Specialized mining vessels should not be neccesary until we develop methods to properly process and refine this material in our mining fleet. The material is also rare in this portion of Sirius. Perhaps our trade negotiators could see about specific deals? It'd be easier to mine things locally on-demand then to import this material all the way out of the Omicrons.

A last note about this system. Alice concluded her tour of this system with a rather grim tone. A derelict station, of considerable size. It looks to have been abandoned or destroyed for several decades at least, and not much aside from the station core remains intact. The station shows component parts of Liberty origin. I speculate it was either a pirate or zoner base at some point, 'though no sign of the inhabitants, or who they were, remains.

Greetings, Mr. Sanders.

Sounds like quite an experience you had in Kansas.
Your findings are pretty interesting, actually.

A couple of months back, IMG sent an expeditionary group out to Kansas for exploration purposes. I was actually part of that group, and I haven't returned since.
We were attacked by a group of Xenos, and my Gunboat equipment was less than capable, at the time, to combat them efficiently.
My ship was badly damaged, but salvageable.
Regardless, we had found and charted quite a number of interesting things, including the remnants of that derelict outpost you spoke of, as well as the field of Iridium, and one of the planets there that potentially looked habitable.

We have had our eye on that system for quite some time.

Also you mentioned Nanite mining.
This sounds like a project the Research and Technology Division has been developing for quite some time.
At the Kishiro Science and Technology Expo, earlier this year, we unveiled our prototype model of a Mining Charge capable of smashing rocks without damaging nearby ships hulls or the Ore inside. The project is still in the testing phase.

Keep up the good work, and thanks for reporting in so frequently!

RE: Freeport 4 request, and some suggestions

I have two things that I would like to adress. First, a relay from one of our trade liasons in Freeport 4. The station's comm array was damaged in a skirmish with a few Rogues, but he has had a request pending. It seems some trading company wishes to base itself out of Freeport 4. I can't say we've ever met these guys, but there's a wildgrowth of independant trading groups that come and go as of late, hard to keep track.
Forwarding message now.
Freeport 4 is also requesting a shipment of 450 hull panels and 100 optronics components, and 40 engine components to repair the damage done in that raid. Apparantly they had to pry a Rogue transport wreck from the portside docking bay, it took out one of the stations stabilizer thrusters too. The station is not in any danger though, once her carrier returned to station the Rogues were quickly routed.

Second. Rumors have it several trading companies are receiving quite lucrative contracts for supplying some construction efforts with raw materials. As widespread as we are throughout Sirius, IMG has access to a wide variety of natural resources, ranging from things as simple as water and oxygen, to helium, deuterium, and of course, significant ore deposits of nearly all kinds. My point? It wouldn't be a bad idea to do a little advertising, let people know that as far as raw ore goes, we can deliver. And unlike most of our competition, we can deliver nearly anything, and nearly anywhere too. As soon as this misunderstanding with the Kusari is cleared up I suspect they too will welcome us again, which expands our operational range from as far as Omicron Theta, up to the Council base of Reunion, and down to Gran Canaria.

Finally, a few practical questions:
Have our Colonial Remnant friends opened up their system for purposes of trading? I am not sure if they have a substantial trade fleet, and imagine, considering their constant battles with the Outcasts, that their shipyards could use some supplies to keep up with repairs and replacements. Hull panels from Newcastle can be brought through the nearby jumphole, and engine components can be imported from Kusari. It would bolster friendly relations even further if we assist them in this manner, I feel. And it gives our miners something worthwhile to carry back to the Taus.

Speaking of Kusari, should we, once the current diplomatic issues are resolved, approach them on obtaining a guild-wide license to carry restricted materials? It would allow us to pass through with cargo such as MOX to Dounby, Nuclear Devices to Java... Engine components and Optronics for our shipyards, and those of our allies. I know some of our members do so now, but strictly speaking, we are not allowed to carry MOX through Kusari space. And I might add, this is not the time to aggravate our relation with them any further.

Lastly, I understand recruitment is still closed. This is a shame since it seems our numbers have dwindled a bit of late. We have encountered a few promising chaps in our travels towards, and in, the Sirian ore fields, and had to turn them away. I recommend opening recruitment again so we can bolster our fleet a little. There is, after all, strength in numbers. Not to say we should not have standards, but to simply close our ranks is not the IMG way. It will force those folk to be independant without a guild to call home.

I got 2 report for the defense division:

A: «The new Junk from Gallia»

1. Name and vessel type: The Serene-worker, ''IMG defense interceptor'', Nyx Vhf
2. Area of operation: Tau 23 Java secured area, southern niobium ore field
3. Mission:Criminal group Identification (Voyagers| )
4. Hostiles encountered: 1 Vhf, 1 bomber ( civilian Technology )
5. Casualties on both sides: Mining ship damaged (hegemon), mining operations slowed.

I recieved a call from IMG|Mark.Williams[M], who escaped from 2 hostile unkmown junkers willing to pirate. Once I spotted them , I asked them to menage such a behavior. Of course nothing is easy and they did not really care. They initially moved away from Java... But I founded them 1 min later right in the middle of the ore field. So we pushed these junkers away to Orkney Jump hole where I believe they came from. Nothing really happened other then knowing for sure that they did not came in peace....

Later, I received a report that the 2 vessels were successfully destroyed by someone else who have obviously less time to bother with such opportunist. Somehow they only seek easy target. The report also mentioned that the 2 pilots were incapable fighters.

The name of the assisting pilot are:
IMG|Syrus.Daljesk[D] (nyx) --> Was around and helped in the incident
VPS-Bambino (Bottlenose) --> Was my previous escort with the serene-Tycoon
IMG|Mark.Williams[M] (hegemon) --> Was the initial victim ( snac shot reported)

The name of the hostile pilot are:
Voyagers|Headless.Cross
Voyagers|Sherman

..........................................................................................................................................

B: «The return of the ''Galiens''»

1. Name and vessel type: The Serene-Guardian, ''Deep space anhilator'', Pyhto bomber
2. Area of operation: Tau 23 Java secured area, southern niobium ore field /tau-37 Farkland and ore field / Orkeny (reunion area)*
3. Mission: Defense against Gallic Brigands invading the barrier.
4. Hostiles encountered:2 Vhf , 2 bombers, 2 transports, 4 gunboats ( Gallic Brigand thecnology) , 2 different independent groups : FBG- and +LE+
5. Casualties on both sides:Nothing major on our side ( substantial economical lost) , Java damage , nothing major for =CR=, an independent bounty hunter bottle nose severely damaged.
They permanently lost 1 bomber and 2 gunboats.

So this all happened on a relatively long period of time , first The FBG trio of transport-bomber-Fighter somehow discovered my location within tau-37. I have never seen a device capable of scanning entire sector of space. Hopefully they weren't too hostile. Far from been friendly or willing to deal with others bandits, they asked to give them a ''sample'' of 750 Niobium ore. I complied and wished that they don't bother us too much.

Shortly after that, (FBG- was gone since not so long) , yet I had to deal with a new group of Gallic Brigand all alone. This time I was near Java. While I was trying to talk to these very arrogant pilot of Gallia, a bounty hunter group offered me some help ( The <R> ) . Unfortunately for me, their help would never be sufficient for 2 big reasons: First there was only one of them directly available ( the other 2 been far within Kusari) , and also because the +LE+ had 5 vessel including 3 gunboats around. So I earned time and finally found a way to take a with them to tau 37 to get some ore for them ( 1000 ore). Meanwhile, I launched an emergency to the tau defense personnel with hope and the bounty hunter group was slowly forming near Java. The attempt somehow succeeded even if it almost failed. What happened when I cam back tot au 23 was the lonely bounty hunter been chased by all the Brigand and his friends been still fairly far away.

The combat continued to Java Station where it was hited by ''Glaives'' from the hostile gun boats.
When ICMG and =CR= arrived, they fled back to their home. Of course we did follow them. To reunion in fact where They thank they could beat us. But they (the +LE+ eventually died. )

Notable sub events:
The damaged bottlenose was granted access to Java for emergency repairs.
The transports with my ore never came back... and they are yet to be recovered.
The battle at Reunion was inevitable because the Brigand refused to stop their attacks and to payback what they sealed/damaged. The transmission were also mainly insults with very little results.

Name of the assisting vessels:
