Commodore Kenneth Walker reporting in the first transmission. Despite our limited manpower and few available craft, we've already seen direct combat during a small-scale incursion of the Liberty Navy into the Kansas system, where our sole battlegroup is based off of.

A report of the events is as follows: Liberty Navy units approached from the direction of the Texas jump hole, presumably aware of its existence, and attempted to venture deeper inside the system. Our defensive fleet consisted of two Arbiter-class battleships, the recently-upgraded Viribus Unitis and the older North Carolina, alongside a wing of snubfighters.
The initial clash resulted in an intense artillery barrage by both the Viribus Unitis and the Liberty Navy's flagship on the scene, an Atlantis-class Carrier. Following the arrival of the North Carolina and another supporting battlecruiser from Fort Riley's garrison, the Navy ships were routed back into their space, however without our fleet giving chase. Damage sustained was minimal to both fleets, although the frontal armor belt of my flagship received medium amounts of damage from the main guns of the Navy fleet and one of the mid-ship artillery batteries on the North Carolina has been hit by enemy fire and destroyed in the process.

The 3 Arbiter-class battleships under our direct command, at large, do not possess modern technology and, as this recent battle has proven, lack the ability to hit targets at long ranges due to the antique design of the range finders mounted upon our vessels. Upgrading them would be an ideal option, yet this would therefore require permission from the Insurgency Naval command.

With these matters made clear, I am requesting permission to transfer my strike group into the Texas system and support the defenders of Galveston whilst acting, at the same time, as a main unit within the Southern reaches of Liberty space for both our battlegroup and the rest of the Insurgency forces.

Considering our reputation, I doubt the command will allow the upgrade unless we either prove loyal to their current ideas or situation become more stressful, leaving them no choice. I personally count on the latter, but the future will show.

I took place in that battle and must say I would better not repeat this - I barely made my way out, running from some odd-talking mercenary like a yesterday's cadet. However, the need to swarm us shows that Liberty's finest lacking quality but certainly they have no issue with quantity. Morever, your ship, according to records I recently watched myself, managed to cripple the hostile carrier before having to fall back. I would say, on certain degree this is victory, although not that obvious. Nevertheless, we will have to rapidly adjust your ship's equipment, utilising our own resources.

Your transfer to Texas is approved, but keep men on guard - we don't have adequate intelligence to predict the next move made by the Congress and their puppets, and any help may be required.

I can only agree with the statement you've made about the lack of intelligence regarding the Congress' moves. Yet despite this, we must look at the larger picture. The civil war won't fight itself and we must ensure that at least on one front, the Navy is kept at bay.

The report regarding our "victory" over the flagship of the Navy fleet that entered Kansas can be considered nothing more than a pyrrhic victory, given that we failed to follow them beyond the system. I have good reason to believe that while it certainly boosted the morale of the crews, we need much more to prove to the rest of the sector and its inhabitants if we wish to secure more support from outside entities.

At last, I thank you for the swift answer on the transmission. Ensure that the Commodore leading the North Carolina is informed as well of the damage sustained during the skirmish and if need be, carry out repairs.

Done better this time, although seems Liberty started recruiting Kusari kamikadze - that bomber almost got me, dropping their torpedo like railgun shells. Sad about fighter, will have now to get another one and I doubt there free Prosecutor in our hangars, but give me a message if you got one laying the dust.

Nevertheless, we reminded the Republicans how bright our fire burns, and hopefully some of former Legion members will their hit of nostalgia too. At the moment we have no base in California, our men are not really welcome aboard both Fontana and Alcatraz and therefore we have to change the situation in our favour - I believe that deploying the Thunderbird there as a mobile command center and ressuply point for our scout, raiding and sabotague groups will be optimal solution, having the Viribus Unitis in Texas and moving the North Carolina to Pennsylvania.

this is the former executive officer Captain Virginia Belle. I am informing you that commanding officer of the INS North Carolina, Commodore Elizabeth White, has succumbed to her wounds sustained when the vessel was strafed by Naval vessels in 2-10-828, Kansas system. She has fallen into the coma and chief medical officer confirmed that her brain flatlined at 1253, 20-10-828 Sirian time. As the most senior officer aboard, I am assuming position of the commanding officer.

I agree with your plan, Commodore Zakaryan. There have been some rumors about an excitement in Pennsylvania which should be investigated in any case. Sparse naval patrols and pirate smugglers roam that system so it should provide enough targets of opportunity for my boys and gals.

INS Viribus Unitis can try to tap into the Texas communication network and try to find any useful information. Maybe even laid up some traps and then blast those bastards out when they come to investigate.

I am not sure how long I will be able to sustain my operation, as parts and provisions are running low and queues for repairs and resupply are getting longer. My old girl is also in need for more powerful weaponry - our guns were fine five years ago but lot of advancements have been made since then in Liberty naval gunnery.

this is Captain Virginia Belle speaking and I am not kidding - I have met damned, speaking aliens in the West Avlemore Nebula, Inverness System, when we were on our way to resupply near Freeport 14. They were speaking directly into my head and were rather aggressive and coming in fast.
We have a faint sensor footage but black box was not able to capture their speech.

One of them, designated Sierra-A, is roughly cruiser sized lifeform while the second one, Sierra-B, is much larger. While they were very aggressive in the Inverness, then haven't been following is through the jump hole. Fighting conditions were unfavorable for lone INS North Carolina within the nebula and so we withdrew.

Later that day, we have received request for an assistance from the INS Discovery in New York. Despite our difference with Battlegroup Harmony, we have decided to assist and joined with them near Planet Manhattan. There, we have been met with Atlantis carrier named after a fruit - yeah, no kidding - LNS Lemon. Crewmen must be proud when they wear badges with LNS Lemon on their uniforms, I have no doubts.

Shortly after, cruiser LNS Compton, several bombers and LNS Akhetaten joined the fray and one of those bomber bastards managed to cripple my main battery guns - again - and I was forced to withdraw or be captured while the INS Discovery was covering our retreat.
Near Jersey Debris field we have finally managed to activate our cloaking field and returned to Pennsylvania to lick our wounds. An embarrassing performance on our part.

this is Captain Virginia Belle speaking again. We have successfully patched INS North Carolina back together after our little scruff in New York system, but our main batteries are barely operational since our vessel has been patched so many times and main battery barrels are too worn out and twisted.

Too bad that our heavy mortar systems are relying too heavily on pinpoint accuracy we are no longer able to achieve as INS Viribus Unitis had found out. My long range batteries are practically squinting and and no glasses are going to fix that
My former commanding officer surely had any plans what to do with it, but I lack her damned security clearance as a non-staff officer. Club only for commodores and above, I guess.

My idea is to contact primary forces of the Insurgency and see what they can do for us, although I don't have a high hopes with those never ending shipyard queues. Do you have any objections or better ideas?
