Hikari nods and gets up. "I'll get some quick!" She goes to the bartender and asks for some water. She returns and puts the glass in front of Julian. "There you go, Julian-san." Hikari then returns to her seat and puts her hands together on her lap, a constant red tint on her cheek and she sits quite still.

Julian smiles warmly, nodding slightly in thanks. "Thank you, Hikari. It is much appreciated, as is even letting me stay here." He looks around the place, as he reaches one hand into his jacket, removing a small case, two inches square, with a red rose embossed on the black metal. He opens it, removing a small tablet, and returns the case to the hidden pocket. Looking at Hikari with a soft smile, he let the tablet fall into the glass of water. "So, Hikari, tell me about yourself." He said kindly, as the tablet dispersed in the drink, leaving it a blood-crimson. He raised the glass, taking a small sip as his gaze switched between the strange surroundings and the girl in front of him.

Hikari looked away as she thought of what to say. "Well I'm 22 years old. I'm sweet and caring, very shy...uhm.. I care for most things and don't enjoy fighting at most times and I was trained by two very good fighters as I grew up. I know some forms of martial arts and I have a Katana and Wakizashi" She begins moving her hands around as she describes the swords. "Both of which are decorated in a sorta metallic or holographic green with a green rose on the tip of the sheaths and the stalk twisting around the sheath. The hand guards are square with a flower design in each of the corners. The colour of the hand guards are some what green... a soft green which is also reflective. The hilts are woven with a the softest of silks...a light green colour with an intricate design of a rose. Even the blades themselves are tinted green.." She sighs. "They're pwetty. I named them Kami no Hoyo, which means Divine Embrace." She smiles sweetly then looks at Julian. "Uhm...I'm sowi." She bows. "Got lost in a train of thought. Those swords were given to me by a friend a long time ago who even trained me how to use them... even if he uses a Rapier"

Julian just listens, quietly sipping his drink, as Hikari spoke. When she apologises, He just smiles. "Its no problem, really. I enjoy hearing about people's pasts." He took a swill of the red liquid in the glass, before putting it down on the table. "I myself grew up on Leeds, in the slums there. Horrible place, even before the meteor showers from Kusarian debris. But a kind old couple took me in as their son, and brought me up properly." He grins slightly at Hikari. "They taught me chivalry before all things."

Hikari had a confused look on her face then looked away. "Well I grew up with a Corsair and a Colonial. They took care of me and taught me how to pilot a space craft and fight in hand to hand combat. Aaron was the one who taught me to use my blades I have." She looked back at him, but this time in his eyes and blushed, quickly looking away. "So what is this...chivalry?"

He looks at the roof slightly, attempting to find an explanation for the word."Well...courtesy is a mix of things...generosity, courtesy, faithfulness...and to be considerate and courteous in the presence of a woman. But thats only part of it." He lets out a short laugh. "I can't really explain it all, theres too many teachings to simply condense it."

Hikari nods. "I get it...I think.. So in other words the elderly people raised you to be a gentleman.." She scratched and thought for a while. "Tell me more about yourself then...I'm pretty boring.."

Julian shrugs slightly. "I've already told you most of my past...I'm not really sure of my age, my 'parents' never found out, after I was orphaned in the slums. Its somewhere between twenty and thirty, though. I've not much else about my past to say, not out of secrecy, though. I've just...never quite had anything happen to me." He smiles weakly, seeming a little embarrased or a little sad.

The quiet pub's conversation was suddenly disrupted by a loud off-key basso-profundo voice:

"O Saaaill, bonnie booooat.. like a biirrrd on the wiiing..."

The bartender rushed over. "Sir! Please!"

"O'er the seeeea to Skye! Another shandy if ya will Guvnor!

Caaarry the lad, who was booorn t' be King..."

"I must insist, sir!" The 'keep looked around nervously, and leaned closer to the loud customer. He caught a whiff, and thought better of it. "That ballad will still get ye killed in certain parts o' Bret..."

"Bahh!! Has all of Sirius become milquetoast cabbages, then? Afraid of their own shadows? A shandy, I said!"

The barkeep suddenly noticed the faded sigil emblazoned on the left breast of the man's dirty robe. "Hold now! You're one o' them wot stole our Kentigearna away! Why, I should.."

"Hush! Or I'll summon Fair Brigid to put a pox on ya!"

The barkeep glowered, and motioned to two burly kilted figures in the corner. Mal saw the gesture, and staggered to his feet.

"Fine then! You can.. how do ye poofy laddies say it.. "Pog me Thon!"

Passed out in a darkened corner of a quiet pub, Riley's drugged and drunken slumber was suddenly disrupted by a loud off-key basso-profundo voice:

"O Saaaill, bonnie booooat.. like a biirrrd on the wiiing..."

He attempts to lift his head towards the voice, but the attempt makes him keenly aware of the rotation of the universe around him, so he decides to keep his cranium firmly planted upon the wooden table.

He can see a blurry shape rush over and mumble something to another blurry shape, and the other blurry shape tells the mumbling blurry shape to give the King a sea of brandy from out of the sky.

'sounds reasonable enough' Riley thinks to himself as he passes back out and begins an odd dream of a giant talking golden apple with a familiar voice giving a recipe for Bridgid's toasted cabbage & lox.
