Subject: Dubious Pilot in Hamburg, 30.11.829

Guten Abend Officers,

as i was talking to Doktor Wilke from MFE close to Planet Hamburg, a ship with scrambled IFF neared our location. It kept distance of about 8 klicks from Hamburg. After a few words i recalled having spotted this particular signature only days earlier while en route to another situation.

This time the pilot told me he had stopped two others carrying alien weaponry over in Thuringia. I did request proof of this, as this in itself already posed an issue. I was given logs - which you find here. Confusingly the pilot dodged most of my more aimed questions, claimed he suffered from anmesia and only recalls the last couple of days. Yet he was convinced patrolling Thuringia was part of his former tasks. I grew suspicious of this, still gave potential agents of the MND the benefit of the doubt. As i opted to take a scan and see if there was just some technical issues with his vessel, i quickly found out this was none of ours. The IFF and ID gave no conclusive evidence whatsoever, the carried weapons on the other hand raised not just my eyebrows. Additionally the refusal to cooperate and simply leave through Liberty lead to hostilities. Soldier Friedhelm Winter as well as a present Technocrat, Lazurith, aided me in this.

Guten Abend Offiziere.

It is with some chagrin that I must admit to the failure of executing my duties. Early during my first official patrol post-reinstatement, I detected a cluster of ships loitering sunward near the trade lane between Wildau and New Berlin. Upon more detailed scans, I determined that one was a member of the Buro Der Marineintelligenz, seemingly engaging in a standoff with two hostile military vessels (a member of the Coalition and the Corsairs). After a brief conversation and my aborted attempt at humor, we engaged the enemy. Unfortunately, I was slowly but steadily outmatched by the Coalition pilot, while the BDM pilot and the Corsair seemed to be evenly matched. This engagement was witnessed by a pirate, who seemed unwilling to declare a side.
After the destruction of my ship, the combatants were kind enough to ignore my escape pod as it coasted toward Wildau. All neural net logs were lost, and the black box was destroyed by my own mine.

I have forwarded my simulator schedule to Oberleutnant Habermeyer in order to rectify this shortcoming, and am awaiting punishment if that is deemed necessary.

Subject: Irate encounter in New Berlin

Guten Abend.
The pirate from my previous encounter (codename Omega) was spotted in New Berlin upon my return to Wildau from live-fire exercises. I elected to stay on his trail as he took the trade lane toward New Berlin. To my surprise, Omega aborted the connection and exited towards the Harzfeld. Seemingly waiting for something, he proceeded to resist an offer of escort to Wildau. As part of my interrogation, I determined that the vessel is stolen. When no submission was forthcoming, I engaged the vessel in order to recover the life pod. Unfortunately, my ship was disabled, though my escape pod was able to be picked up by a rookie patrol in the area. On the bright side, Omega will certainly need to spend at least a week in the maintenance yard, and should not be plaguing New Berlin during that time.
After the patrol dropped me off at Planet New Berlin, I logged in to the nearest simulator station, where Oberleutnant Habermeyer was waiting to provide feedback on my performance.

Guten Abend Offiziere.

Please find attached the neural net logs of my assigned areas as pertaining to mission AX76NG (Codename = Blumen).

Thuringia.
As outlined, I proceeded to Thuringia System at best speed to begin my scouting run. The grid was split into two outbound legs, beginning and ending at Bayern (Path 1, Path 2). I was directed to land at Weimar to physically acquire the latest Unstrut safe ingress zones. Although I planned to navigate around the field, the MND rep suggested that I pay a visit to Sommerda and update them on my mission. I naturally understood the meaning behind this "request", and acted accordingly. As part of my ingress, I confirmed the lack of activity at Heldrungen and current location of Siemensstadt (unchanged).
During the second leg of my run, I passed an MND vessel performing live-fire exercises. The vessel reported potential renegade activity in the system, which prompted me to make a loop around Valhalla (transcript log). Regretfully, there has been another breach - a light general-purpose craft towards the Hamburg jump anomaly. I disabled this vessel and managed to acquire the ejected pilot intact (designation: The Wild). He did not reply to my comms, but I am sure interrogators at Kolleda will have better luck. This concluded the first part of my mission.

Cologne
Upon arriving at Altenburg, I was once again assigned two legs which loosely covered the system (Path 1, Path 2). The first leg took me past the Karlsruhe wreck (alloy concentration unchanged). At the end of the first leg, I detected a faint signal in Steinfurt's orbit. Upon closer investigation, I uncovered a loose collection of modular containers in poor repair (designation: Altenberg Depot). A brief search of my nav databanks failed to confirm official registry of this base in Rheinland.
Before I had a chance to contact Altenburg for additional orders, my scanners detected the presence of vessel nearby. Upon communicating with the captain, I learned that this member of the Core seemed to have gotten lost inside the Norddrauwolke. I escorted this individual (codename: Faith) to Altenburg and awaited further instructions. An Oberleutnant swiftly contacted me with orders to have the individual escorted to the edge of Rhineland space. Faith requested that they be taken as close as possible to an ingress to the Omicron Systems. Upon review of my neural net nav data, I confirmed with Altenburg that Passau in Munich should have the most up-to-date information about local anomalies which connect to that sector. The escort mission was uneventful, and we made good time to Passau. Upon confirmation of the authority, Passau forwarded me the latest location of the Omicron Xi anomaly, to which I directed Faith. As I did not have clearance to proceed into the Storm, I lingered long enough to see the Core vessel on its way (transcript log).
After returning back to Cologne, I proceeded with the second leg of my assignment in this system. This was mostly uneventful: I confirmed for the astronomers at Heisenberg that Longerich continues to resist advanced scanning equipment (drone footage).
Getting back into high-bandwidth comms range with Heisenberg resulted in a scanner anomaly in my systems. Upon further investigation, the anomaly was centered at a Freelancer-piloted vessel (codename: Charlie,Jukins. WARNING: Neural net log unavailable). After getting into range for a detailed scan, I detected two nomad prototype weapons mounted on the vessel. The cargo of the vessel hold also contained illicit light arms, but I focused my interrogation on the nomad remnants. I implored the Freelancer to produce his registration, or follow me to Wildau where one may be checked in the system. Upon the denial of my request, I surreptitiously contacted Altenburg to determine if there were any assets in-system. Unfortunately, only a recon team was standing by at Heisenberg, without significant fighter assets. I ordered the vessel to proceed to Heisenberg and allow the team on board for inspection. Charlie,Jukins denied my request, and a fight ensued, in which I was unfortunately the loser. My pod made it to Heisenberg without issue, and I was greeted by the dour faces of the recon team, who provided transport back to Altenburg. I have been collating this report while waiting for a new vessel.

Subject: Cryer smuggling Artifacts in Hamburg, Distress Call in Bering, unlawful Freelancer in Hamburg. 04.12.829

Guten Abend Officers,

i have caught a Cryer Pharmaceuticals vessel smuggling Xeno Artifacts in Hamburg.
Due to the sudden increase in especially these types of artifacts, i opted to have the ship unload those on Planet Hamburg for immediate safekeeping and investigation as to where they may have originated from. The vessel's captain put up a meek and futile effort of legitimizing his cargo, but did comply to an extent in the end. As instructed, he headed for Planet Hamburg - yet he managed to vanish in the busy transit area of the mooring fixture. Whether or not the goods have been properly handed over to Hamburg's authorities is unclear, the issued fine for contraband was not paid. I kept watch of the area and surveyed the NeuralNet logs... but there was no more sign of the vessel in question - callsign Glorious_Artoria.
[Image: MBBBFRt.png] [Image: WktZ221.png]

While monitoring comms i did pick up a garbled distress signal, most likely relayed over automated communication channels. It hailed from Bering, where i found a civilian frigate already searching. Apparently the origin was a Liberty research vessel, unfortunately we did not manage to find it. During our rescue operation we met Richards, a Freelancer already known to me, as well as some Bounty Hunters. The latter made use of fake calls to throw us three off. I have to admit them willingly squandering time with such diversion tactics and effectively jeopardizing rescue efforts in particular has been a most questionable course of action on their part. There was no personal sighting of the research vessel in question, i laid no eyes upon it during the whole attempt. Allegedly the Bounty Hunters Guild did manage to escort it back, i cannot confirm this though.
[Image: yX5jv3V.png] [Image: lCDEWqd.png]

After having returned to Hamburg i conducted regular scans of ships passing by, one of them caught my eye. A Freelancer named Charlie Jukins. According to him well aware of the laws of Rheinland, yet he was carrying enemies of the state as well as using illegal equipment constructed on basis of Nomad technology. The attempt to bribe me was in there as well. There was valiant efforts to talk his way out of the situation, yet all he managed by that was to have more and more people showing up. Among them an already known Unioner, Hans Olken, as well as a fellow soldier, Clayton Stiel. Stiel telling me Jukins already tried to assault him, which made the amount of laws Jukins had broken increase even more. As Jukins was not willing to cooperate, Olken offered his help - but had a present Bounty Hunter have a go at him first. The Hunter was taken out, Olken took care of Jukins.
I wish to note that one of the Bounty Hunters from the rescue attempt, callsign Sun, showed up briefly during the early stages of this scene as well. That distinct lack of respect towards Rheinland authorities, coupled with morally questionable decisions during SAR operations, might be a reason to reevaluate our standing with that one in particular. Contracting these kinds of people may reflect negatively on us.

Guten Abend Offiziere.

Please find attached the neural net logs of my assigned areas as pertaining to mission AX76NG (Codename = Blumen).

Sigma-15 (Luneberg).
The grid in this system was split into two outbound legs, both passing through Freeport 8, where I was directed to land in order to acquire up-to-date intelligence about Core activity in-system (Path 1, Path 2). Due to adequate coverage of the Core zone of influence, I was directed to avoid this area during my patrol.
Overall, both legs of the patrol were uneventful. The ongoing construction of the Redline Depot E seems to be proceeding on schedule - please find attached the neural net node for additional information on the subject.

Munich.
After confirming my mission with Passau, I was directed to avoid all nebulae sectors within this system as much as possible. For this reason, I once again decided on creating two legs, one ending at New Augsburg, and the other starting from there and ending at Passau (Path 1, Path 2).
At the beginning of the first leg, I encountered a Freelancer vessel performing live-firing exercises (designation: Nobber). In the course of a brief exchange with this individual, I detected another transmission from another Freelancer, carrying helium to New Augsburg (designation: M!n3R_ApeX. WARNING: neural net data unavailable). Further communication with these individuals seemed unnecessary, and I proceeded with the rest of my patrol. As outlined in the mission parameters, I did not approach Ingolstadt directly, though I made sure to take detailed drone scans during the outbound leg (drone footage). I did not detect any vessels around the station, and alloy concentration seems to be unchanged from the last report. Augsburg did not have anything new to report either. This was turning out to be another uneventful patrol.
Upon my approach to Passau, I received a coded transmission to further investigate the aforementioned vessel Nobber. Upon a detailed scan, I detected a potentially unregistered Cloaking Device mounted on the vessel (scan infocard). As I was on the last leg of my patrol, Passau advised me to land and confirm any special equipment registries containing this vessel in the neural net. However, my search failed to discover any record of the sort. Unfortunately, by this point in time, both Passau and Augsburg reported no vessels on their long-ranged scans. I recommend that a detain&interrogate order be placed on the vessel Nobber in order to obtain more information from its captain. As I gave no indication of hostile intent, I believe the vessel may eventually return to Munich in order to conduct more live-fire exercises. At this point, the administrator at Passau has been instructed to forward the last known location of this vessel to currently-active members of the Kaiserliche Rheinwehr.

Subject: Liberty Battleships in Hudson System

Guten Abend officers.

Today came to an unusual start. I was assigned to the furthermost patrol of the Rheinland-Liberty border, resulting in my path taking me to the Hudson system, along with the KKS Raeren. We encountered two Osiris class battleships at Manitoba station. Acting against Chapter 3, Article 6 for the Hudson system, where it states "Both houses are allowed to place one battleship in their zone to serve as base for their patrols. No other military installations are allowed".

They stated the reason for the military display for a "Nomad Threat" although they did not notify our government of any threats, to our knowledge. Stating they were there to scout the system. As the KKS Raeren pointed out, battleships were not exactly made for scouting.

I returned to the Carrier Soltau, and left the situation in the hands of the KKS Raeren and the RNC Sabaton.

[11.12.2022 00:51:56] 46th|LNX-Akhetaten: Uhmen: The reason behind our presence in the system are various reports from different sources stating the same thing.
[11.12.2022 00:52:06] 46th|LNX-Akhetaten: Uhmen: Nomad presence in the system.
[11.12.2022 00:52:21] 46th|LNX-Akhetaten: Uhmen: Of course, Lieutenant. This is no standard patrol.

[11.12.2022 01:09:15] [RM]KKS-Raeren: From what i see here, there has been a lack of that on your side
[11.12.2022 01:09:17] [RM]Lt.Jurgen.Schmidt: Your side
[11.12.2022 01:09:21] 46th|LNS-Anchorage: Kemp-Smith: Given we are military men, I'm sure we can mutually agree to understand the defense of our respective houses.
[11.12.2022 01:09:49] [RM]KKS-Raeren: On that we agree, where we disagree is that you send capital assests close to our borders
[11.12.2022 01:10:06] [RM]KKS-Raeren: You can understand we don't take these visits as friendly
[11.12.2022 01:10:09] 46th|LNX-Akhetaten: Uhmen: Hardly close to your borders, gentlemen.
[11.12.2022 01:10:30] [RM]Lt.Jurgen.Schmidt: You would not consider a direct tradeland to our space a "direct border"
[11.12.2022 01:10:30] 46th|LNS-Anchorage: Kemp-Smith: But you would do the same, were the roles reversed, correct?
[11.12.2022 01:10:34] 46th|LNX-Akhetaten: Uhmen: If we wished to be intimidating towards you our positioning, trajectory and placement would be vastly different.
[11.12.2022 01:11:04] [RM]KKS-Raeren: The same? No, we'd notify you of what our plans were if we'd enter close to your side of Hudson
[11.12.2022 01:11:24] 46th|LNX-Akhetaten: Uhmen: It is unwise, if not disrespectful, to put your border concerns -above- concerns regarding Nomad sightings in the-

[11.12.2022 01:11:50] 46th|LNX-Akhetaten: Uhmen: Disrespectful towards your own people and towards the Libertonian authorities.
[11.12.2022 01:11:55] [RM]KKS-Raeren: It is disrespectful to get close to our border with capitals and NOT notify us of that
[11.12.2022 01:12:14] [RM]Lt.Jurgen.Schmidt: Gentlemen.
[11.12.2022 01:12:17] [RM]KKS-Raeren: Don't speak to me what's disrespectful and what not about my people
[11.12.2022 01:12:20] [RM]Lt.Jurgen.Schmidt: Please. Keep this civil.
[11.12.2022 01:12:40] 46th|LNX-Akhetaten: Uhmen: I am doing every attempt at that, Lieutenant.
[11.12.2022 01:13:02] [RM]Lt.Jurgen.Schmidt: We would like to be informed of the timing of this transmission to our government about the Nomad sightings.
[11.12.2022 01:13:58] 46th|LNS-Anchorage: Kemp-Smith: If there is a Nomad, posing a potential threat to either of our houses, I wouldn't care as to what assets you --

[11.12.2022 01:14:26] 46th|LNX-Akhetaten: Uhmen: The most 'useful' information I can give you regarding your inquire, is that the first broadcast we received was on-

[11.12.2022 01:14:42] [RM]Lt.Jurgen.Schmidt: Gentlemen. Please answer my question before bringing your own
[11.12.2022 01:14:45] 46th|LNS-Anchorage: Kemp-Smith: In future, should time permit, we will cordially communicate via proper channels and coordinate efforts.
[11.12.2022 01:15:10] [RM]KKS-Raeren: Nomads or not, if you plan on breakign the treaty for whatever reason you will notify us.
[11.12.2022 01:15:17] [RM]KKS-Raeren: Thank you, glad that's clear.
[11.12.2022 01:15:28] 46th|LNX-Akhetaten: Uhmen: You should rest assured that if -I- personally spot any Nomads with my own eyes on this system, the Rheinland-

[11.12.2022 01:15:37] 46th|LNX-Akhetaten: -Military will be getting a report of my findings here.
[11.12.2022 01:15:43] [RM]Lt.Jurgen.Schmidt: You are seeing clearly, Auxesian vessel.
[11.12.2022 01:15:53] A/)-Revenant: Congratulations on the child, Uhmen.
[11.12.2022 01:16:13] 46th|LNX-Akhetaten: Uhmen: Revenant.
[11.12.2022 01:16:19] [RM]KKS-Raeren: Thank you for the understanding, LNX-Akhetaten.
[11.12.2022 01:16:22] 46th|LNX-Akhetaten: Uhmen: Always as charming as ever.
[11.12.2022 01:16:42] A/)-Revenant: That must have been the fifth Osiris I've seen in Liberty thus far.
[11.12.2022 01:17:43] A/)-Revenant: I couldn't help but notice that you had  a mild border conflict a second ago.
[11.12.2022 01:17:54] [RM]Lt.Jurgen.Schmidt: Mild border...
[11.12.2022 01:18:00] A/)-Revenant: Being haunted again, hmm?
[11.12.2022 01:18:09] 46th|LNX-Akhetaten: Uhmen: I trust that this meaningless border argument has came to an end and that we can focus on our fruitful cooperation-
[11.12.2022 01:18:11] 46th|LNX-Akhetaten: -out here.
[11.12.2022 01:18:29] [RM]KKS-Raeren: About that, tell me about this... Nomad threat you speak.
[11.12.2022 01:19:01] 46th|LNX-Akhetaten: Uhmen: When we know, you will most certainly know as well.
[11.12.2022 01:19:08] [RM]Lt.Jurgen.Schmidt: And after that, there are... a few not so minor things we need to cover...
[11.12.2022 01:19:11] 46th|LNX-Akhetaten: Uhmen: I have no reason to keep such things a secret.
[11.12.2022 01:19:49] [RM]Lt.Jurgen.Schmidt: That being one of them. You keep explaining the... "Nomad Threat" although you also say there is none
[11.12.2022 01:19:53] [RM]KKS-Raeren: So just for recapping
[11.12.2022 01:20:04] [RM]KKS-Raeren: You send 2 battleships for a so called nomad threat nearby
[11.12.2022 01:20:10] 46th|LNX-Akhetaten: Uhmen: This is the third time we come to this conclusion, Lieutenant.
[11.12.2022 01:20:12] [RM]KKS-Raeren: Yet you can't give any info about it
[11.12.2022 01:20:31] 46th|LNS-Anchorage: Kemp-Smith: Let me handle this, Commodore.
[11.12.2022 01:20:38] A/)-Revenant: There has been sightings of Nomad incursions, mostly thralls though.
[11.12.2022 01:20:43] 46th|LNX-Akhetaten: Uhmen: Of course, sir.
[11.12.2022 01:21:07] 46th|LNS-Anchorage: Kemp-Smith: How it normally works, we receive reports on a Nomad presence in the system.
[11.12.2022 01:21:23] 46th|LNS-Anchorage: Kemp-Smith: We deploy assets to verify the reports, hence us being in system.
[11.12.2022 01:21:43] 46th|LNS-Anchorage: Kemp-Smith: If confirmed, we either engage to destroy, document and report our findings.
[11.12.2022 01:22:07] [RM]Lt.Jurgen.Schmidt: Surely a wing of fighters would be much more effective than two sluggish battleships
[11.12.2022 01:22:12] [RM]KKS-Raeren: And you plan on scouting the system with battleships?
[11.12.2022 01:22:38] [RM]KKS-Raeren: I must say, You and i have very different ways when it comes to strategies
[11.12.2022 01:23:03] 46th|LNS-Anchorage: Kemp-Smith: Clearly.
[11.12.2022 01:23:56] 46th|LNS-Anchorage: Kemp-Smith: Gunnery, if that pesk continues to fire on us, shoot back, freely.
[11.12.2022 01:25:06] [RM]Lt.Jurgen.Schmidt: So, you would not mind explaining your scout contigent of battleships?
[11.12.2022 01:25:16] [RM]Lt.Jurgen.Schmidt: A strategic flaw, or something else?
[11.12.2022 01:25:23] 46th|LNS-Anchorage: Kemp-Smith: I feel like I already have.
[11.12.2022 01:25:28] A/)-Revenant: I'm not sure why it is a great concern to you.
[11.12.2022 01:25:33] A/)-Revenant: They are on their side of the border, no?
[11.12.2022 01:25:36] 46th|LNS-Anchorage: Kemp-Smith: So, yes, in fact I would mind.
[11.12.2022 01:25:42] A/)-Revenant: How they waste their resources is their own decision.
[11.12.2022 01:25:53] [RM]KKS-Raeren: We have something called treaties
[11.12.2022 01:26:01] [RM]Lt.Jurgen.Schmidt: Raeren... please...
[11.12.2022 01:26:02] [RM]KKS-Raeren: And seems there is a miscomunnication about one
[11.12.2022 01:26:06] A/)-Revenant: Well - that Unioner is violating the treaty.
[11.12.2022 01:26:16] A/)-Revenant: Are you going to deal with it?
[11.12.2022 01:26:22] [RM]KKS-Raeren: That's the least of my concerns right now
[11.12.2022 01:26:29] [RM]Lt.Jurgen.Schmidt: Raeren...
[11.12.2022 01:26:36] [RM]KKS-Raeren: ?
[11.12.2022 01:26:42] [RM]KKS-Raeren: Ja?
[11.12.2022 01:27:14] A/)-Revenant: As long as the Navy sticks to their side and does not overextend, I'm sure it is fine.
[11.12.2022 01:27:17] [RM]Lt.Jurgen.Schmidt: Please. The Unioner is a priority, Our ships are not equipped to handle it
[11.12.2022 01:28:25] 46th|LNS-Anchorage: Kemp-Smith: Seems the Unioner has had enough.
[11.12.2022 01:28:50] A/)-Revenant: I wonder if there is even a conscious mind in there.
[11.12.2022 01:28:59] [RM]Lt.Jurgen.Schmidt: Raeren. I must go. Please, if there is anything more, or you run into any trouble, notify us immediately.
[11.12.2022 01:29:11] [RM]KKS-Raeren: Roger, safe skies
[11.12.2022 01:29:22] [RM]Lt.Jurgen.Schmidt: Guten abend captains. I will contact this to our Oberkommando
[11.12.2022 01:29:31] 46th|LNS-Anchorage: Kemp-Smith: Very well.
[11.12.2022 01:29:41] 46th|LNS-Anchorage: Kemp-Smith: Look forward to speaking to them.

Guten Abend Officers,

on my routine patrol through the Ruhrfeld, in order to map and root out illegal transportation of goods, i spotted a known signature.

The Rogue smuggler MeisterZim, having been stopped by me only a couple of weeks ago (Rheinwehr Report #2565). I decided to fine him one last time, confiscate his wares and escort him out - the next encounter, should he deem it worthwhile to risk more than his wares, will inevitably lead to the vessels destruction without escort as law dictates.
He was carrying Blood Diamonds for a contact in Liberty space. Given a lack of a suitable transportation vessel at that time, i destroyed the majority of his cargo and took a sample for examination and the possibility of retracing their origin.

Subject: Additional information about Hudson incident, 11.12.829

Guten Abend Officers,

i arrived late in Hudson yet i believe i have a few additional pieces of information which will come in handy.
The main issue had, to my knowledge, already been taken care of. I took position near the Sabaton and the trade lane leading to the Hamburg gate.
Both Osiris-class vessels of the 46th Fleet were still present at that time. The Akhetaten under Commodore Uhmen, already known to me from prior visits to Hudson, as well as the Anchorage under Fleet Admiral Kemp-Smith.

A Freelancer on a Dunlin arrived at the scene, coming from somewhere around the Wrangell Field area. They expressed an interest in the presence of our capital assets in the system. Later they communicated to be ready for a meeting with Revenant. A certain Karl would be aboard. Revenant did not seem to be aware of any scheduled meeting - if this was merely for show or genuine surprise on her part is unknown to me.

A third Liberty capital ship, this time an Overlord-class dreadnought - the Redback, approached. It exited the trade lane from Planet Atka to Manitoba station, unclear what it did there. Revenant mentioned a potentially interesting relationship between the Xenos and the Order, the latter backing the former. Proof of that is to be expected soon. Further talks were disrupted by a lone Liberty Rogue showing up, picking Revenant as their target. After some verbal banter the Rogue did indeed attack, which prompted me to engage. Present ships of both sides fired at first, driving the target from Manitoba out in the open. The Raeren rendered assistance, Revenant herself joined me after a moment, too. She landed the deciding blow.
It was at this time that a fourth Liberty capital ship entered the immediate vicinity of Manitoba Station. The Akubra, an Atlantis-class carrier with peculiar cargo. Commodore Uhmen was allegedly as confused as i was about both Secondary Fleet vessels and stated to not have called in backup. I have no way of confirming whether or not that was the truth.

Subject: Activity and later combat engagement in Frankfurt

Guten Abend Offiziere.
I regret to inform you of an incident which occurred yesterday, and concluded in major damage to the vessel RNC-Wetzlar, and my own ship.
I was made aware of potentially suspicious activity in the Frakfurt system by Leutnant Jurgen Schmidt and Flieger Jonas Wagner. We proceeded to split the system, with Fl. Wagner proceeding to jumping off points to New Berlin and Sigma-13 and myself sweeping through the Hausenfeld. Meanwhile, Ltn Jurgen Schmidt was advised by Schwerin of a potential Coalition warship in-system. The vessel RNC-Wetzlar was swiftly scrambled by Schwerin to search for and intercept the threat.
On its way to its target sector, the Wetzlar reported sightings of a loose group of freelancers. It seems their purpose was escorting and then filling a Barge-class vessel from within the Hausenfeld (this activity will be forwarded to the Kruger Mineralen corporate offices for further investigation). I did not detect this sighting myself, as the group approached from the Neu Berlin anomaly, which seems an exceedingly foolish undertaking for a vessel with such tonnage.
It is lucky for us that this group was in attendance, as investigating this sighting lead us straight across the route of the Coalition warship (designation: Fryapa). Obl. Trau Habermeyer, newly arrived on the scene, managed to get the vessel on scanners, and tracked it as it moved away from the jump anomaly towards Mannheim. The Wetzlar honed in on Obl. Habermeyer’s transponder and quickly closed with the contact. Fl. Wagner proposed a switch out to a Revenant-class, and I quickly proceeded to Mannheim to catch a fast packet to Battleship Kolleda, where my ship was undergoing minor repairs.
I updated the CO of the Wetzlar with my ETA from Kolleda. Upon receipt of this transmission, I overheard squad chatter that a ship was needed in other places. I did not realize at the time that this transmission was meant for me. On my way to the combat area, my scanners detected a light Corsair vessel on approach, which I forwarded to the squad.
Upon approaching the updated coordinates of the Wetzlar and the Coalition vessel, I requested permission to engage, but was denied to do so by the Wetzlar’s CO. At the same time, I detected the aforementioned Corsair on approach. Seeing as the situation was under control, I flew back to Schwerin in order swap out for the Disir-class for mop-up further reconnaissance operations. I humbly submit that this was a critical mistake. I should have remained on scene, and provided assistance to the Wetzlar which would soon prove necessary.
Upon returning to the scene, I discovered that the Corsair ship was engaged by Fl. Wagner in Rot-1 (Roc-class), with Obl. Habermeyer observing. With no further warning, my scanners picked up increasing heat signatures from the Wetzlar, and in a few more seconds an explosion was registered on the particle detector. Meanwhile, the Coalition vessel still maintained steering, and was searching for additional targets. I engaged the Corsair, while Fl. Wagner switched targets to the Coalition cruiser. Obl. Habermeyer offered assistance after a few moments, which I gladly accepted. I believe that she was torn between losing valuable time while switching out to another Revenant-class in order to challenge the Coalition vessel, or taking on the Corsair then and there. I submit that her decision was correct, as the Corsair pilot was more than a match for me alone, as this individual managed to disable my ship even with Obl. Habermeyer assisting.
As I limped back to Schwerin, a freelancer (designation: Nate.Ross) was employed to keep the coalition vessel pinned down, as it attempted to cruise into deep space. The KKS-Ostkantone was arriving on the scene, and Fl. Wagner switched targets back to the Corsair. At this point, I exited the short-range transmission envelope and disconnected from the squad channel to avoid distracting the commanders.
