Bowex InfoNet - jammi - 10-14-2011 To: All Bowex Personnel. From: Sir James Cromwell, Board of Directors. RE: DO Liam Adama. ![]() As some of you may or may not know, Director of Operations Liam Adama is taking a short break from the day-to-day management of Bowex due to medical reasons. He'll be back soon enough. As an interim measure, I am being appointed as the Acting-Director of Operations. Usually the Board of Directors will leave the Firm to its own devices and appoint a DO from within your ranks. This time, we saw fit to take a direct hand in events ourselves.
Until Sir Adama returns, I shall be acting in his stead, ensuring the Firm's managers are working to a sufficient level of competence and efficiency. In turn, they will be monitoring junior staff for the same qualities. Incompetence or lacklustre effort on any tier of the Firm's hierarchy will result in extremely adverse consequences for the employee in question. Consequences that may well be terminal to said employee's career. For those of you who do not know of me, I served for 16 highly decorated years in Her Majesty's Armed Forces. I was honourably discharged at the rank of Captain, after my wing was shot down by a massed Molly ambush. I lost my hand, forcing my retirement. I briefly served one term as a New London Royalist MP in the Commons, before finding employment in the Ministry of Trade and Industry. I have since been knighted for my efforts to the realm. After a further 10 years of service, I was appointed to the Bowex Board of Directors as a senior industrial overseer. For those who are wondering, my hand was augmented. Replaced. I'll be running this corporation with an iron fist, and woe betide any of you who refuse to fall in line. In the space between Sir Adama's departure for respite leave and my appointment, things have grown lax. That changes now. Managers with queries may forward them to my office. Employees with queries may forward them to their managers. Division Directors and Managers, I expect to see you personally as soon as humanly possible. -Cromwell. RE: Upcoming operations. Recent intel we've acquired has given us a location of a rather important commodity: Iridium. For some time, the Board of Directors and Mr Cromwell have been interested in finding a supply of this vital resource. Now we've discovered a station selling the stuff in bulk, we want to investigate. Shortly, we will be dispatching a convoy to the Omicron Delta system, for a reconnaissance in force. The Clydesdale Brigade will be heavily utilised, alongside the services of a single transport. I'll be coordinating the mission from the cockpit of the BES Aird, one of Services' repair ships.
Our destination is Freeport 11 in Omicron Delta. This is a Zoner installation at the very edge of explored space. We're not sure where the source of their Iridium is; it may be mined from a free-floating asteroid field, or perhaps a nearby planet. That's one of our aims - to discover where the stuff is coming from and how much of it they have. Beyond that, we'll be buying as much refined Iridium as we can hold, then transporting it back to Scarborough Shipyard in Newcastle. From what our agent reported, we can expect heavy resistance from Corsair pirates, should we be discovered. Consequently, we'll be making sure we aren't. I want this to be inconspicuous, not a fire-fight. Due to the danger of this run, the pathfinder convoy is purely voluntary. Captains and crews who participate will receive a hefty ExSec bonus for their troubles. This operation itself will be happening within the next week. Best of luck, gentlemen. ~Peterson. I really don't see why we can't pull a Shetland through it though. Regardless, I'll prep the Hyman. Let's hope this route is as valuable as it is dangerous. Colin Trevena Bowex) Hyman ~Message End~

Bowex InfoNet - Djerung - 10-20-2011 ==========BEGIN TRANSMISSION========== From: Captain Charles O'Callaghan, Bowex)Firbolg Source: Planet Leeds, Leeds System, Bretonia To: Bowex Information Network Re: Convoy Report Good evening lads, this is my first official report as a Bowex employee and luckily it's a uneventful one. Let's see, where to start.. ah yes, Leeds. Under the lead of Mr. Peterson we formed a convoy of three, consisting of two Shires and a Stork; the Johnson, Firbolg and Cook. Shortly before departure we were joined by the Danzig, an ALG Heavy Mover shipping Super Alloys to Nuerenberg, Munich. While the Danzig held position at Leeds, we made a quick trade run to Scarborough to offload Basic Alloys and load up Super Alloys, the Cook following with it's hold full of Nobium. After regrouping at Leeds, we set off in earnest for Munich. Our trip through the Omegas was rather uneventful, with only a few of the usual rookies smashing against our shields like bugs. Upon entering Rheinland space, we ran into an old 'friend' of mine, a Bundespolizei by the name of Wolthers, who gave us pass after scanning our load and checking our credentials. I will never forget him for.. ah, I digress. Meantime the Cook had unloaded it's Nobium and a short while later we entered the Munich system. There we made for Nuerenberg, where we unloaded our cargo and filled up with Consumer Goods for the short run to Mainz, profits you see. Here Mr. Peterson took his leave, summoned for paperwork concerning security in Rheinland space I believe. He left Captain Whelms of the Cook in charge as the senior officer in the Convoy, with the Firbolg, being the most heavily armed and armored ship of the convoy, taking point. After the short trip we made the Mainz, we had to wait for the Danzig which went to Helgoland station for a shipment of H-Fuel. When he rejoined us, we picked up our own shipment of H-Fuel at Mannheim station and set course for Leeds. After a cascade of lane docking system malfunctions, we left Rheinland space and entered Omega-7 where we found the first unpleasant surprise of the day. Our long range scanners picked up a Das Wilde ship and we quickly decided we would not wait for it to come any closer. We hastily initiated trade lane docking procedures to get as much distance between it and us and didn't stop before jumping into Omega-3. We made haste and thankfuly encountered no other hostile entities in system. Upon jumping into Manchester, we had our second close encounter. We had to power up weapons as we found ourselves being intercepted by a rogue bomber pilot. As he seemed hesitant to engage such a large convoy, we dediced to power up our cruise engines and make for the trade lane to Leeds. He decided not to follow and shortly after we found ourselves safely at planet Leeds where we offloaded our cargo and stood down the Convoy. Our trade mission was quiet and succesful and I hope to have many more of the kind flying for Bowex. O'Callaghan out. ==========ENDING TRANSMISSION========== Bowex InfoNet - Azan27 - 10-22-2011 Incoming Transmission... I'd like to submit my application to be part of the wonderful Clydesdale Brigade, because... well, because there isn't much more satisfying than watching the beast that built Bretonia tear apart one o' our enemies.
