Basing myself on what little understanding of things around I have, I think Order is simply trying to protect their place on the map. If everybody can farm Noms with Zoner, why bother to make Order character?

RE: Zoners - Crackpunch - 06-09-2013

The Order tries to protect humanity from alien threat. It can't do that if everyone and their dog is playing around with dangerous alien technology.

It never bodes well when some random group says "We're gonna be doing nomad research now." because the Order can't be sure they'll take the proper precautions. So rather than taking a massive risk, the Order does its best to shut down operations such as this.

It appears a lot of indie Zoners think "We're allied on the IDs, so the Order won't stop us from doing what we want." but that is dead wrong.

'Rogue' research is the major reason behind the Order/Core war.

It's not only just about the border. It's about the main objective of the Order to eliminate all alien activities within sirius sector and to ensure that the nomad technology not to fall into wrong hands. I guess your understanding with the Order organization is so simple.

I don't see anything wrong with that, they should play like they own the nomads but 10 remains is habit too small.
Using Kappa to get you to freeport means you have at least 6 7 jellies on you, next thing you know u got 30 of them. You hardly pay attention to that, you not only beam to get them you just beam because you are used to it.

RE: Zoners - Thyrzul - 06-09-2013

Easiest solution: Hand over stuff to the experts when they tell you so.

And you can argue them about the 10 remains being small, as long as you do it inRP it's pretty fine. But I don't think they will change that anytime in the near future.

Mate, why not to drop those nomads, if Order asking? Zoner's aren't nomad hunters, and will gladly get rid of nomad remains, in case, they need nothing from them. Your manner of playing goes better for Core, who showing middle finger to Order, when they asking to drop nomad materials.

Well, Lonely_Ghost is right.. It's the job of the Order to eliminate them.. Hmmm... maybe you want to collect hundreds of jellies, Tel-Aviv? Just wondering..because actually 1 or 2 jellies are too dangerous to keep or to collect, coz if you are not careful to handle that thing, there will be a possibility that could infect one of your crew or you...

RE: Zoners - Anaximander - 06-09-2013

With Nomad remains now having a practical use in development of equipment, I don't see why Zoners can't be nomad hunters.

Order hunt the Nomads to protect mankind, why can't Zoners hunt them for profit and technological advances? I mean all those capital ships, shipyards and so must be very costly, of course Zoners need to make a profit on anything possible to support it.

Sure that would bring Order and Zoners on a collision course, but the alliance goes both ways - Order is just as much responsible for keeping up good relations as Zoners are. Instead of responding with krieg, they could have been less heavy-handed (not saying ZA did a stellar job at their diplomacy, far from it - but Order is partly responsible for the mess as well).

That sort of roleplay fits the BHG Core better.

RE: Zoners - Anaximander - 06-09-2013

Why? Zoners are supposed to be different from one another - one thing they do share though is the necessity to be able to support themselves financially which I suppose is difficult in the Omicrons.

Besides Order has for the longest time appropriated Nomad tech, it wouldn't be outside of reason to extend that courtesy to their closest ally, as long as they ensure Zoners use Nomad stuff to produce tech for themselves only (which is where Zoners would differ from Core I guess).
