Guten Abend,

I am hurt and exhausted, I will have to be brief before returning back to my treatments. My Stuttgart patrol was extremely taxing. First I engaged the pirate frigate HRZ~Syriix and after a long battle, I managed to protect the trade of Omega-7.
I expected a peaceful rest of my patrol, but that was not meant to be. A massive battle has ensued in the Stuttgart system, between Unioners, Coalition, Red Hessians, Freelancers and the Rheinwehr.

There were too many to count. The Unioners have partnered up with the Coalition to attack our lone capital ship, further cementing them as the true villains of Rheinland that have fallen deep and hard. I will have no mercy with any Unioner I encounter from now on, this will not go unpunished. When the dust settled we had to retreat to the protection of our stationary defenses, not before we have taken down multiple hostiles, however. A hessian gunboat, Leipzig, and one Unioner were put down by my hand, our battleship took care of another one of their gunboats.

Guten Abend Officers,

i met Frau Lea Kaufman today in Cologne.

She had a few questions for me and seeing as i usually get along well with this fellow Rheinlander, i did provide her with answers. As it turned out there may be a bit more behind those questions than mere curiosity as i initially assumed.
Frau Kaufman apparently doubts the trustworthiness of His Imperial Majesty the Kaiser's armored fist - us. She began by inquiring about how the Rheinwehr views the Bundschuh, referring to earlier incidents that were reported already. During our conversation the topic shifted more to specific actions taken by members of the Rheinwehr and how these are connected to the previously stated concern of hers. I found these answers to be less than satisfying and presume them to be but a distraction, yet kept this mostly to myself.
Attached you find the entire recording. Leutnant Schmidt appeared for a short moment, asking for my permission to enter Zurich - which i granted.

Subject: Coaltion & Hessian invasion in Dresden

Guten tag officers,

It started when our navy received multiple reports of a massing of ships inside the Dresden system.
It seems our Hessian enemies and their Coalition allies returned once again to raid us.
We quickly dispatched our fleet past the minefield of the Dresden system.
The Bismarck KKS-Prinz.Adalbert took the lead and we gathered our forces around him.
The fleet managed to coordinate well. We took out targets one by one and their fleet had no answer to that. The only downside is that near the end, the KKS-Prince.Adalbert got disabled despite our best efforts to defend it. Luckily the Bismarck is repairable.

Overall it was a good fleet battle and we managed to make considerable losses to both the Hessians and Coalition forces. They will think twice before invading us again!
Below some combat and fleet footage of our Rheinland forces.

Subject: Dresden blockade engagement

Guten Abend Offiziere.
Upon the request of Admiral Arnold for volunteers toward the defense of the Dresden blockade, I naturally put my name forward. The Admiral indicated that all vessels of the defense force were to form up near the New Berlin jump gate in Dresden. From there, I volunteered to make a scouting run towards Bautzen.
As I proceeded through the mine field, a freelancer (designation: Olivia.Sable) flew towards us with up-to-date information that an invasion task force was sighted in-system. I proceeded to cruise towards Bautzen, staying at least 9 KU away from the bulk of the force. Based on my long-range scanners, we were facing at least three destroyers, two battlecruisers, and two dreadnoughts (guncam footage). My count was interrupted by the encroachment of the enemy, and I proceeded back under the cover of our battle line (drone footage).
The enemy fleet moved in, and we engaged in good order. Prinz Adalbert scored the first critical hit, disabling the enemy battle cruiser Brezovica. Two more vessels were disabled by the concentrated fire of Kant and myself. I was then engaged by the few enemy snubcraft present on scene, but managed to move across the battlespace to a safer location. Meanwhile, Prinz Adalbert was disabled by a Hessian bomber. This was to be the only casualty in our taskforce. Two Hessian battle cruisers were disabled in short order, followed by the Coalition destroyer. With Admiral Arnold supervising repairs of his vessel, acting adjutant Leutnant Kunrad ordered the taskforce to re-form back at the jump gate, concluding the engagement.

Guten Abend Officers,

i encountered an Order vessel, an Order sympathizer and a regular criminal, Omega.01, close to Planet New Berlin.

Revenant, Lea Kaufman, an ALG vessel, a Bounty Hunter gunboat and a Unioner, Hans Olken, were present at various stages as well. The latter participated in the ensuing firefight, targeting ALG. Kaufman and Revenant left the scene before any hostilities.
The Order pilot, OCV-Jokester, refused to take the easy route, as to be expected, and preferred to play a game with no merit instead. It didn't matter much, the outcome would have been the same. Instead of having him run into our forces en route to the Sigmas, i bided my time for additional Rheinwehr forces, that being Bootsmann Wagner and Bachmann, to appear at my location. The Freelancer Felix.Linke meanwhile made it abundantly clear where his loyalties lie. Siding with the Order and arguing on their behalf even. Common sense appears in exceedingly short supply towards the end of the year. It is remarkable when a Hessian shows up and makes the wise decision to leave, thus appearing the smartest of the bunch we had to deal with that day. As hostilities ensued, the Freelancer picked the Order's side and took up arms against the Rheinwehr. Omega.01 chose the same unfortunate path and interfered.

My Valkyrie was disabled by the Order sympathizer Felix.Linke after prolonged combat.

Subject: Distress signal in Stuttgart, 06.01.830

Guten Abend Officers,

as i was off-duty on Planet Baden-Baden i received a distress signal.

Together with me at that time was Freelancer Richards, whos readiness to assist i wish to point out in my report.
Naturally we went to investigate the source of the signal, Richards found it quickly. As the transmission stated, it originated from sector F5, more precisely rather close to the end of the Ostnebel. What we found was a severly damaged Z-Series Sabre - callsign Bonito. Communications were down, life support systems failing and engines in critial condition.
As the propulsion system attempted to start without any visible change, we spotted movement near the cockpit - upon further inspection it turned out to be the pilot. I instructed Richards to use his tractor beam in tandem with me, to carefully tow the damaged Sabre towards Baden-Baden. Baden-Baden's orbital control was subsequently informed by me to prepare for an incoming emergency. Thankfully Hitman-76, Agent Lock, picked up on my transmission and assisted in towing for the remainder of the way.

The pilot appeared in orbit of Baden-Baden after the required medical procedures and expressed his thanks. His name is Jose Montoya, according to his own words originating from Planet Crete. Fled from there at a young age and kept his distance from the Corsairs ever since. Hessians ambushed him as he allegedly carried 'weird diamonds' with a reddish tint. My assumption is Blood Diamonds. Nothing in terms of cargo could be confirmed, however. The ship itself was empty, so was the space around where we found it.

Subject: Nomad Remains in Frankfurt & Xeno Relics in Thuringia, 07.01.830

Guten Abend Officers,

i received a valuable hint by a Freelancer, callsign Maroon.Specter, about a smuggling Zoner close to Mining Factory Neuss.

As my group (Freelancer Richards, Hitman-76 and SEO|S-Basti) and me had just returned from an extended but unsuccessful search for unlawful activity in and around Frankfurt and were close, i gave order to take the lane to Konstanz and cruise from there. Shortly after arriving we found said Zoner vessel, callsign Hawk.Draconis, which attempted to flee at first. Maroon.Specter who was already present at the scene fired cruise disruptors, so did my own group upon my instructions to prevent the Zoner's attempt. Helmut Schmid, owner of Mining Factory Neuss, was present during this encounter but denied any connection to the Zoner. He did however asked me about a combination of several installations somewhere in the Frankfurt system belonging to Freelancers. A follow-up report to the Oberkommando and Government is soon to follow, once the positional data and video-footage has been verified. We found something big.

Hawk.Draconis cooperated after this lapse of judgement without further incident, claiming he had simply picked them up from dead forms and was not all too familiar with Rheinland law. I corrected this sad state of affairs on the spot, fined him for both the remains and an unregistered cloak and subsequently escorted him out of Rheinland. Bootsmann Beist inquired about the situation in Frankfurt, after which i invited him to assist me with the escort. The Zoner did provide us with a fresh set of data for a nearby jump hole to Dresden, located somewhere in the outer layer of the vast Weisserfeld.

[Image: QphNCtt.png] [Image: xBb0Mrv.png]

The SEO gunboat, SEO|S-Basti, relayed another vital piece of information only moments later. A second smuggler, this time carrying Xeno Relics, was spotted near Planet Holstein. Revenant had seen that one as well and sent a more precise reading shortly afterwards. I informed my group and available contacts, namely the Hitman Agency, to seek and intercept a vessel called 'Pages'. Close to the Westerwald cloud our paths logically had to split, but remembering some older instances of smuggling i sent present company to Hamburg in order to watch the exits to Bering and Hudson. I myself entered Thuringia, activated my cloak and was fortunate enough to pick up a system-wide transmission by yet another known Auxesia vessel - callsign Lazurith. With this positional data the Pirate Train was quickly located, locked in combat with a Freelancer, callsign Thera.Kane, Lazurith had contracted to further assist in stopping the smuggler. At the same time i ordered Beist to regroup at my position, after he had noticed i entered Thuringia.

As their battle continued, the transport emptied its cargo hold in what i can only speculate to have been a feeble attempt at shifting the blame on Auxesia and the Freelancer by destroying the relics and then claiming the other party attacked first. As i was already present i made note of this, then revealed myself. Thera.Kane managed to secure a part of the contraband and abided by every single instruction i gave during the brief but chaotic exchange. Pages refused to stand down and was thusly dispatched by Thera.Kane and myself in the end. The relics were handed over without incident, while Lazurith went out of his way to provide me with the one thing i was lacking. A proper scan of Pages' cargo hold, i attached the private transmission i received as a copy.

Beist showed up in time to assist me with carrying a good amount of samples to the next suitable location, the rest was destroyed in space.

Guten Abend esteemed Representatives,

i have to forward the findings of Herr Schmid, owner of Mining Factory Neuss, to your attention.

During an earlier situation close to his station he asked me and other present company whether or not we knew of a complex consisting of several modular bases under Freelancer control. I had no knowledge of such and found nothing of the sort in our entries, but made a mental note nonetheless.
Herr Schmid contacted me roughly an hour after we took care of a smuggler in Thuringia, informing me he his company had found the location of said complex and offered to show it to me. As the installation's defenses acted hostile against him, i opted to bring Richards as well as Agent Lock with me to ensure sufficient security should forces be scrambled from within.

Upon arrival we were greeted by an impressive array of weapon platforms as well as bases, clumped together closely. Three of those hostile towards everyone present, Freelancer included. The location was, as Herr Schmid mentioned, somewhat tricky to find at first. Far away from typical routes. I made sure to properly document my positional data

Subject: Nomad incursion in Sigma-15

Guten Tag Offiziere.
I was contacted to come and assist against a potential… Nomadic incursion. Upon arriving in Hammersee orbit in Sigma-15, I detected a number of individual vessels, as well as Obl Habermeyer and KKS-Greifenstein. One of these ships was squawking a transponder code I have never seen outside simulations: a fully autonomous AI. As well, Frau Revenant was present on scene, always seeming to appear during complex incidents.

After introductions were made, we were examining the Unit, while I was growing more restless about the lack of patrols. Though this is unlikely to be picked up on scanners, I swear that at around the same time, I felt a sensation of amusement, which further reinforced my notion of us being sitting ducks.

My suggestion to fly out soon became moot, however, as the advanced scanners on the Revenant detected an incoming cruiser, which she immediately relayed to us. As we scrambled to engage, the vessel Hitman-58 made first contact, and proceeded to draw the enemy closer. Greifenstein and I proceeded towards its last position and quickly detected the large Nomad capital ship. We engaged without further preamble, and managed to destroy it in a short period of time.

After the signal noise from the explosion died down, my scanners managed to detect the smaller Nomad, who seemed to be willing to play hide and seek with us. I gave chase and managed to perform a closer assessment, but it cloaked again and I lost it.

Seeing that my assistance was no longer necessary or even wanted, I requested permission to return to base. The communication logs are attached for your review.
